In the words of Ethan Frost, this set of stories is “perfect”. I couldn’t put them down and I now have someone to blame for my messy house—finger is pointed squarely at this author over there! Don’t go hiding it, Ms. Tracy Wolff! I love these characters just as much as I loved the writing. And yeah, the stories are good too. ;)
The h, Chloe, had so much sh** happening to her and then seeing her just surviving, putting herself back together after everything just breaks my heart but it also gives me hope in that no matter how much sh** life throughs your way, there’s always a way to keep going.
Ethan Frost is the best honestly, that man knows how to get through Chloe’s defenses like no other. They have this crazy chemistry but also so much story between them that boggled my mind. I didn’t see that coming. But Ethan doesn’t shay away from his feelings or the fact that he just wants to love and protect Chloe no matter what.
Chloe can be a bit frustrating at times but everything she does is valid. At a certain she know that although they love each other, love is not enough for them to be together and so she does what neither of them wanted but Ethan comes through every time and loved him for it. Ethan really does know what Chloe needs even before she does. Chloe did surprise me quite a lot, i thought she was gonna reverse to run away ( like in the beginning) when life gets though but she doesn’t and that’s part of why this is a 5 star read.
There’s TW for rape although not on page but this story deals a lot with it. How Chloe survived with it and how did she continue to live with it. This is a story but I feel like it’s so relatable especially Chloe and I appreciate the author for writing it.
I’ve only read the YA/NA series ( Crave) by her so I was happily surprised with her writing, the way she describes a kiss, the emotion behind it, the s** scenes are so powerful and so well writing. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Crave series but it doesn’t have the same emotional scenes as this story does although I think its also very well written and I love it and I may or may not had shed a tear or two about those characters but I digress, all of this to say that this trilogy was amazing and can’t wait to read more by this author.
I really enjoyed the setup and early part of this trilogy. The characters were interesting; the writing was excellent; the scenes were fun.
But then not much really happens. Oh, a few incidents here and there, but they were low impact because they were so truly and obviously predictable. Ho hum.....
The ending and wrap up were nice...well done again. Unfortunately, the overall feeling I had upon finishing the book was lackluster. I felt like it could and should have been less obvious and predictable given the plot points.
