This is an incredibly detailed and comprehensive study of every reference to Satan, demons and ‘the powers’ in the old and new testaments. It has the sense not to speculate where the Bible itself does not go and draws helpful conclusions, summarising the overall picture and relating this to contemporary experience (although the latter is necessarily limited). It’s comprehensiveness makes it quite dense and flitting between text and footnotes can disrupt reading but these are minor criticisms of what is a remarkable piece of work.

A lot of helpful synthesis of biblical doctrine. Good survey of relevant Scripture passages. Goes in depth when needed.
