A sexy, funny, stand alone short Christmas story. Patisserie Chef Christopher Miller works for Big Boy Cupcakes, London's only gay bakery. His boss had closed the bakery on the 23rd of December, and Chris was looking forward to some well needed time off, and Christmas ALONE. But then his boss calls him with a last minute order-the order of his dreams-to bake for his movie idol, actor Jason Beck. Just as he is about to deliver the order, Chris's dreams are turned upside down by an explosive, fateful meeting with Fred, an errant Chocolate Labrador. The dog's owner turns out to be Robin Summers, a one night stand from months before...the man that Chris could not forget.

I admit that I’ll never look at the chocolate fondants the same way again in my life. 😂👏 Chris works for London’s only gay bakery and when his boss called him and asked him a favor for a very special Christmas order for movie star Jason Beck, Chris almost peed his pants. Jason has been his idol for so long and to have the honor to create custom cupcakes which are rather scandalous 😁 for his childhood idol, Chris worked the order right away. And then Fred, the chocolate Labrador, stormed into his life quite literally and Chris found himself not being able to deliver the cupcake in time for Jason. And then his savior came in the form of ginger bearded Robin whom Chris hooked up with all those months ago. Now these two must work together not only for their cupcake mission but also to have a happy rainbow ending in each other’s arms. 😉
Short, sexy, fun and extremely funny. 😁 And rather scandalous baked goods with very inappropriately worn leather-apron. And scorching-hot sex! 🔥 Yum, yum, yum! 😋 I loved it. 😍 Prefect for a holiday quicken listen. 😉
4.5 Now I suddenly crave for naughty chocolate nibble stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Have you ever eaten a phallic-shaped cupcake? ME NEITHER!!! ;D Even the notion is ridiculous. An edible cock in my mouth. So obscene! XD lol But it sure would taste good. Wouldn't it? ;)
Unfortunately it was ruined by the alternating POV's (written in third person past tense), which was happening almost paragraph by paragraph without warning, and I had to go back a few sentences to find out where exactly the switch happened. This back and forth was confusing. But no one seems to mention it in their review, so maybe it was just me?
Overall it was amusing and delightful, and I had fun.
Fred and Ginger is a colorful and creative holiday short. Between Isobel Starling's descriptions of the yummy baked goods (I really want to see those fondant cocks) and the fun, offbeat neighborhood in which the shop is located, I couldn't resist skipping back a few times to listen to Gary Furlong read it again.
I'm always going to give high marks when an author can create so much chemistry between the characters so quickly, and in so few pages. Both men are interesting guys and I'd love to learn more about them... the story of their Grindr hook-up would be amazing, just sayin'.
Fred and Ginger has all the hot, intimate, playful sex I'm learning to expect from Isobel Starling - and there's some pretty creative stuff in this one ;).
As always, any story read to me by Gary Furlong is going to elicit warm and pleasant feelings... I do love the way he says "cock" and "balls", it's almost like he's smirking - because he knows we really do love to hear him say "cock" and "balls". Well it's a win/win for everyone and I can only but hope that he continues to narrate the deliciously naughty stories of Isobel Starling.

A new author for me; I enjoyed this short story. I can see that this could have been expanded into a longer story but leaving it thus gave a good glimpse into the MCs relationship under development. I'd definitely try this author again.
Had potential but really got me with the ninja commas and apostrophes which kept popping up randomly.
Nice concept with a baker who makes black velvet cupcakes with penis shaped toppers and a ginger guy who got with baker guy but never called him back, causing some amount of pain to baker guy. They meet again, thanks to ginger guy's dog.
I was looking forward to good things.
Then had to Screw in the back of the bakery Baker guy works in. (Approx 2hours or so after they reunite) With egg white for lube.
Aaaand I was done with this book.
ETA: I was very intrigued about the egg white thing so I went and googled it (for science, yeah?) And I found that Egg white makes a very good lube substitute! Good to know!
Sweet little short story about a baker getting together with a shop owner on Christmas Eve. I wish there'd been more about the holiday woven in as well as more about the dog Fred. Still an easy read.
I love holiday books. This short story is sweet and cute and sexy. I enjoy food-centric stories and this one was fun, especially since parts of it reminded me of an event they have at the GayRomLit Retreat. It is a short, snippet in the lives of two men,and an exuberant Labrador. Bonus - the author includes a recipe at the end. So much fun.
This is an entertaining little short: easily read, easily forgotten. While there is nothing actually wrong with it, it lacks all those little touches that makes you want to go back to a romance you have already read.
3.5 stars Patisserie Chef Christopher Miller never expected that a caketastrophe when delivering the most important order of his life could find him find love… A really sweet short story with just the right amount of spicy in it. It tells us about Christopher and Robin, who meet when Robin’s labrador crashes into Chris and destroy a ready-to-be delivered order of cupcakes. The catastrophe turns into an offer to help made by Robin, who is ashamed both by his dog’s attitude and by the fact that he cannot remember having had a hookup with Chris some time ago. Working side by side in the kitchen, their chemistry is as obvious as what a good team they make If the story is cute and the characters likeable, the performance by Gary Furlong makes it really memorable, and utterly delightful way of spending an hour of your time

An out of control half grown exuberant Labrador Retriever escaping his owner caused a disaster. A pastry chef Chris was asked by his boss of the Big Boy Bakery a huge favor on Christmas morning. Chris was prepared to say "No!", until an amazing incentive was dangled in front of him something he could not turn down. Something that actually made him eager to complete the labor intensive, but labor of love.
What if you meet the one that got away and he has no recollection of you? What if his dog causes a major disaster? How do you get over your anger, annoyance, and disappointment? How about several pounds of sugar to go along with a pound of revenge?
This was a humorous, sugary sweet, playful story full of raunchy baking treats. This was a fun story to read, especially during the Christmas holidays.
This was a very fast read & I would have liked it to have been longer. Chris & Robin had a hook up several mths previously & Chris was upset that Robin never contacted him, not sure why Chris didn't. Chris has been called into work on his day off to make sweets for his favorite movie star. While leaving to deliver them he has a run in with Fred, the sweet Labrador that is owned by Robin. What we have now is the re-connection between these two, and a hot scene in the back of the bakery. I would have liked more but this was a really well written book for such a short story.

I really enjoyed this quick, sexy and a bit funny story.
After a disastrous cupcake spill due to Robin's dog, Chris and Robin are stuck working together trying to complete another order of cupcakes in time to deliver them to Chris’s favorite actor. Only thing is Chris knows Robin and is upset when Robin doesn’t remember him.
Robin and Chris are both likable and I wish I could get more of them. I love the way the two interact with each other.
Gary Furlong did a great job. I really enjoy his narrations and love how he draws me into a story.
OMG, there were penises (penii, penes) everywhere!!! Is it still bestiality if the penis the dog is licking is made from marzipan? This was a cute Christmas short with a sort-of 2nd chance theme. Robin & Chris, aka Ginger, had a hot night a few months back thanks to a Grinder hook-up. Fred, a rambunctious young lab (did you ever meet one that wasn't) arranged the 2nd meeting, over a couple of destroyed boxes of penis decorated cupcakes. And it just got tastier from there.
This adorable story was skillfully narrated by Gary Furlong and it was both sweet and spicy.
As sweet as a cupcake with sprinkles on top! A lovely little christmas based story - but with penis decorated cupcakes! I enjoyed the humour, the guys were good together, will be trying the recipe at some point. At times, especially at the beginning some of the description came across as stage directions but either I got too into the story to notice or they disappeared.
21.11.17 reread : fun, flirty and dirty, what’s not to like! Perfect light festive story.
What a cute story done with a cute accent. This is a sweet little tale of a cupcake debacle. It truly was fun. These two guys, Chris and Robin, end up making penis cupcakes for a famous actor. But Fredrick the dog has other ideas. There is romance and a wee bit of kitchen sex. A dog, cupcakes and a holiday afternoon. What more could you ask for. Well done. Chris is a master baker who has been asked by his boss to make a special cupcake order for a famous actor. On his way to deliver them a chocolate Labrador puppy knocks into him and the cakes go flying. Furious Chris waits for the dogs owner who turns out to be the one night stand Chris can't forget. Can the two men reconnect over a batch of naughty cupcakes.
Sweet and fun short story. Very feel good story and loved the use of egg whites as lube, but I cringed when reading about it because I can't stand to have eggs on my hands, much less anywhere else, lol
Oh, I wish there was a kinky bakery here! Those detailed North Pole cockcakes, wow! Really enjoyed this fun Holiday read. I would have like to know their reactions in meeting their actor idol, was a let down for me. But over all, one sweet story.
A quick second-chance (in many ways) story about Chris, a baker, Fred, a labrador and Robin, Fred's owner. Light and fluffy and full of marzipan and frosting!!
Very cute with my favorite career, baker. I was disappointed in the Jason Beck build up that went no where, that had such Fan boy potential. I now want to make North Pole cupcakes.
