Akihisa Ikeda (池田晃久) is a manga artist/manga-ka best known for the manga series Rosario + Vampire (ロザリオとバンパイア Rosario to Vampire). He's been a huge fan of vampires and monsters since he was a little kid. He says one of the perks of being a manga artist is being able to go for walks during the day when everybody else is stuck in the office.
Tsukune and his wacky crew are getting into my hijinks, and something dark and juicy is going on. I really love that this series has amazing illustrations, constant action and keeps me entertained. Yet it's so simple and easy to read, with all of the craziness hiding among the pages.
I'm super enjoying this series, even if it's not some mature, adult manga. The goofiness is where this book shines, and reminds me of my youth. I love the silliness and fun this manga brings. Having a group of friends battle every monster imaginable is a fun ride!
This might be my favourite volume so far! The story has gotten a lot darker, there’s so much action in this and some very tense moments. Will Tsukune and Moka’s friendship/love survive?! It ended on such a cliffhanger too, I can’t wait to read more! 🧛🏻♀️🖤
I loved revisiting this wacky, and overly perverse world (Hey, gotta appeal to the fans, right? :P ) As mentioned in previous R+V reviews, it follows the same/similar formulae each volume. Will the baddies never learn?! Tskune or Moka will kick everyone's butts, but Tskune + Moka = TOTAL DESTRUCTION!!!
I'm sure everyone will realize that sooner or later and allow the guys to live peacefully and complete their schooling nicely.
This particular translation, that I read via Mangareader.net, was a little dodgey, but I mean, I got the jist of what was being said.
The art style is something I enjoyed again, and I love the full page colour spreads!
Ah, yes, this volume! The poop is hitting the fan really hard in this one. :P Poor Moka, then again, she didn't have much of a choice in both times. Not with the biting, nor with the beating up. Maybe if she had known there was an alternative route... but for now it was just not something she thought of. It must have hurt. And talking about hurt, poor Tsukune. :( It must hurt oh so badly for him to turn into this, and then to find out about what happened later. :(
E llorado? Si no me escondo creo que a sido el más emocionante de toda la saga hasta ahora, me lo a hecho pasar super mal, tengo ganas de pegar a moka por hacer eso 😩
My personal reaction was quite intriguing when I had begun to find out what was going to happen in the story of Tsukune Aono in this book... I was ¨Shocked¨ by the outcome. I was fascinated by the tenacity of Tsukune through previous books and previous scenes that happen throughout the book.
Tsukune Aono enrolled into a boarding school for monsters and beings of supernatural or unknown origin. Tsukune is an average student that has failed out of all other schools this forced him to go to his only seen option of Yokai Academy. None of the students nor teachers are not or close to being human yet taught to be like humans to be able to coexist among man. These monsters have of course a normal set of classes with the mix in of training to control the beast living within all of the unnatural beings.
Yet Tsukune has to find a way to train his new found power given to him by friends he's gathered along the way. Oh my I forgot to talk about his trusted and understanding friends, Sorry about that he has 5 friends at this school of monsters. Their names are Moka Akashiya and her favorite food is Tsukune's blood. Yes, she's a vampire strongest of all supernaturals. Up next is a succubus girl named Kurumu Kurono. Next is Mizore Shirayuki known as a snow fairy, lastly Yukari Sendo as she is described ¨A mischievous witch. Much younger than the others. A genius who skipped several grades.¨ These are the friends he has picked up through his long and fascinating story of delving into the unknown.
This book gives a ¨Bloody¨ name to the fate of the average student we follow throughout all the books. After several injections of Moka´s blood Tsukune unfortunately has become a ¨GHOUL!!!¨ he's lost a part of his humanity to stay alive and gain power to protect his friends and himself from the cruel world he is in. He must begin to understand his dire and very precarious situation because he must wear a holy lock like Moka's Rosario to keep him from losing control and succumbing to the ghoul inside. The power of a ghoul is close to a vampires yet can not feed on just blood to get more power but the very flesh of man.
The larger meaning of the book from what I have read and understood is to be in touch with yourself even if that self may be completely bathed in ¨agony.¨ A theme I have seen in this book is surround yourself with people you know and love but to ¨Love¨ the one you want to be yours.
Ok, so this volume starts taking more a horror vibe with some the later chapters but I am some what disappointed that some of the newer characters are not really drawing that much from Mythical creatures but still nice development for Tsukune.
Continuing on with the tradition of this series of having the teachers and other authority figures cast in a negative light. At best, we have the homeroom teacher who is either willfully ignorant of what goes on, or willingly putting her students in danger and the bus driver who is plain creepy. Then there is Gin, the editor of the school newspaper, a werewolf and horn-dog who tried to blackmail Tsukune. Then there is the nasty group of student enforcers who bully, abuse and maybe even kill students. Finally, we have the string of downright EVIL teachers and administrators, one being a Medusa, who was freezing students in stone, another was a molester, potential rapist and almost murderer, while the nurse was abusing her "harm none" dictum, by physically manipulating students and teachers into performing unconscionable acts. Maybe the author has issues with authority figures.
On another issue, it was nice to see how the effects and abilities that come with Tsukune drinking Moka's blood. The future promises to be interesting.
Kinda surprised as i forgot the fight scene or the anime cut it out in this volume. I am wondering how Tsunune will protect himself an Moka now that he is no longer able to turn into a vampire anymore ... safely anyhow. it was kinda sad when Moka ran him through as having the girlfriend run the main male through without mercy kinda makes it feel very different. His other female friends though she had mercy when in her vampire form but it appears she does. A cold-heated prideful girl. Through her heart did warm up before he turned into a ghoul after he did it froze again and she killed him ... for a mercy kill. As he didn't die as undead cannot die he was saved by a so far nameless character. So as he is the main character he came back to the living as one of the living. Moka got depressed and possessed at the end so I am thinking the next one will about that.

Wow!! Didn't see this serious volume coming! I am SO happy to see Tsukune suffered consequences from Moka's blood transfusions. I thought for sure because he's the "hero" that he'd somehow hero is way out of that...but I'm happy to say he didn't.
I wonder what will happen now! I'm glad this series improved and didn't start sucking worse than the first volume (despite it's predictability even still). That's good news, right? Still, I am unsure if I will read Season II after I finish up these ten volumes. We will see once I reach the 10th volume, I suppose.
Moka is kidnapped as bait for Tsukune by the Monstrels who want revenge. Moka's other side tells Tsukune he needs to leave and go to human world or he will die while battling the monstrels. Tsukune has to have another donation of blood after saving Moka. He turns into a Ghoul. He goes crazy and starts to kill Monstrels. Moka tries to kill him. Ruby brings an exorcist who saves Tsukune. Moka is attacked.

I really wanted to like this one as much as the others but again it's gone back to fight fight fight every chapter. Feels like part of the story is just going on a long time now and I want it to move forward a little bit more. I still really like the characters and maybe I just took so long to read this as I got distracted by other things that I lost my focus a bit. I will be moving onto the next one and won't be leaving a bit gap of a month like I did with this one.
I'm really beginning to be interested in the characters and their stories. I like the way the author writes the drawings are good too. I think this manga could become addicting because you know it's building to something, and while you might have an idea, you can't be sure. I'm definitely wanting to keep reading.
Still stuffering to a unhealed wonund on Tuskune's neck where Moka bit him to change him into a vampire things turn to the worse as a gang of monsterls attack them both out of the blue. Moka fears to the worse that the wound of Tuskune's neck is more deader then he thinks it is. More likely it will send him to his doom.
There was a fun playfulness about this series that I really enjoyed. The author threw in a healthy mix of comedic relief to each character and I loved how there were so many completely opposite personalities.
The darkest and probably best of the series so far. Really nice artwork. There's a lot more violence in this installment as monstrel kidnaps Moka and faces off against Tsukune, unstable by all the vampire blood in him. You'll want volume 7 on hand as this one ends on a nail-biting cliff hanger.
Awwwww YEAH! Tsukune came to save that day, and damn did he look SEXY while doing it! Cheers for Vampire Tsukune! Normal him is a whimp though... And isn't very cute until in badass mode. And ten that Exorcist dude came in to lock up his powers :/ I mean it DID save his life... But still.
I feel like this is one of my guilty pleasures because it is kind of the same thing every time; but it's just drawn so cute and its a cute storyline in my opinion.
Rosario+vampire is a good akuma based manga. It has a good art style and a good plot line. The akuma concept is good and very entertaining. Characters are good and interesting.
