Tyler doesn't know why he's interested in Emma since she's not one of the hot girls at school. After he steals her notebook, he reads something that she doesn't want him to see.
I love to write, but quitting my day job is not an option. I survive on coffee and too little sleep. This is a habit from my teens when I used to stay up most of the night reading books.
I agree with most of the other reviewers on this book... I really loved the characters and the storyline but the ending felt a bit abrupt. I can understand why the author thought that was a good place to stop, though. The main conflict had been 'solved' and the reader has the opportunity to imagine what happens to the main characters 'ever after' but, as I read the last paragraph, I have to admit, I thought, "What? That's it?" Maybe I just wanted more! Tyler was one of the best 'book boyfriends' I've read and Emma was sweet, smart, and strong. I loved their inner dialogue; their insecurities, their doubts, their feelings, and the secondary characters were perfect. I'll definitely be checking out more of Suzana Thompson's books.
I don't understand how this book is getting negative reviews?! Did we read the same book? I thought it was a really sweet story about two teens falling in love. Emma is the new girl with a lot of trust issues and Tyler is the school 'hot shot' who notices her. I won't give much else away. I felt like the characters reactions were pretty realistic for their ages and experience. Sometimes I got frustrated at Emma but she went through a tough time and didn't have proper closure. Tyler was a delight. I love how Suzana Thompson writes her characters as being so honest - Tyler was such a straight shooter and it made me laugh. I really enjoyed this book!
I really enjoyed reading the book. It had a good story line and characters. However new problems were introduced within the last two chapters. These problems were never addressed or solved which left the book feeling like it still needed another chapter or two to be completed.
I have liked each and every book I have read from this author. I know it’s a young adult romance and I am not the target audience, but the writing seemed stilted and a bit all over the place. I also couldn’t quite follow all the relationships nor all the characters. Who likes who now? Who’s dating who? The guys all seemed like a bunch of manwhores. If all guys think and act like the guys in this book, then you’ll have to excuse me while I go lock up my daughters.
I liked this book, until the ending... Talk about abrupt!!! Things were going good, and then all of a sudden in the last 5 pages there was conflict, a sad excuse for resolution and then it ended. The story was good, but typical- boy wants girl, boy sets out to get girl and boy actually ends up liking girl; girl has bad breakup, girl initially resists boy, girl falls in love with boy anyway. I would have definitely liked to see a much better ending, that's pretty much the only thing that ruined the book for me. Oh, and the fact that he kept scheming to get into her pants the entire time, that wasn't cool either.
Also, because of the abrupt ending we're left with all sorts if questions about the friends... seriously, so much was left hanging in the end, it's like the author had a certain page limit but couldn't stop adding stuff and then had to conclude the story in the last 5pgs of the book. I can think of several extraneous scenes that could have been omitted if that was the case.
3 Stars: Kindle Unlimited Read It has many redeeming qualities. The characters were likable at best neutral at worst. The writing was much better than expected. I developed an interest that withstood to the end. The plot was nice, somewhat original or had its own unique flair. The writing was good, and the pretense wasn’t half bad, the romance was simmering with few exceptions. The male/female lead showed hints of abuse both verbal and/or physical or signs of spot-on or forced chemistry. It was a tiny bit predictable. Overall, liked it enough, entertaining.
It was a decent book. Some grammatical errors distracted me but otherwise not bad. HOWEVER; I really hate when books end without a real ending. I was terribly disappointed in the ending, or lack thereof.
a quick breezy read if you want, many times where i wanted to hit my head against the wall. also initially did not go in the direction i imagines but overall predictable etc etc
Ive read " notice me " ,, is it me or this guy is so creepy? It reminded me of the series " you" ,, there was some nice dates and moments but the ending wasnt complete and the whole creepy things freeked me out ,, i gave it 2 out of 5 stars
The writing style did not work for me. Dual POVs, third person.
It took me awhile to get used to the writing style, but after 50%, the story and writing went downhill. I don't get the point of the book. It just kept going in circles with an annoying heroine. Emma at times was moody and b****y. I do not know why Tyler wanted her at all. Tyler always did things to please her, but she never did anything for him. Tyler felt it at one point in the story that she was a bit selfish. (loc 2235) The relationship felt forced. It did not feel strong. Emma and Tyler's "friendship" went on for too long. I am not sure if there is a sequel because the story just ended and the author gave up. Forgettable read for me. Days after reading this, all I remember is thinking how annoying Emma was. You may love it. This is my opinion.
This is what you expect from a high school book popular guy geeky girl but I wanted honesty I know some girls are waiting until marriage or love so maybe the 50% of girls who are like this will enjoy it but I was upset I didn't get to experience more with them such as at least third base or even second...great read but most definitely not realistic in this day and age the three stars are for the romance but it didn't get five because I feel she took too long to let him do ANYTHING and she still didn't at the end I was like wth smh
Synopsis: Boy likes girl. Girl likes boy but won't admit it. Crazy girls are crazy. Horny boys are horny.
Simply no plot. Bland characters. You can't tell the difference between them aside from which other faceless body they like. Doesn't pass the Bechdel test. Don't waste your money, or your time. I read books like this every once in a while to convince myself that the crap I write can also be publishable.
I wasn't blown away by the writing style of this book but decided to keep reading out of curiosity. It's not an awful story but ultimately the ending was disappointed and I thought it must be the end of a pArt 1 or something because it just ended so abruptly without including what I'm sure most of us wanted for it to be a satisfying end.
This was a very sweet YA romance novel that focuses on the relationship developing between two very different people rather than the physical aspects of a romance. I really liked the twists and turns that Emma and Tyler's relationship took. I also loved the way the author wrapped up the book.
Yes I would recommend this book. I think that young adults will like it. I also liked that the book reminded me that even if someone is different from you it doesn't mean that you shouldn't try to get to know them.
Most books I can read in a day or two maybe a week tops. But this was so slow I had to stop reading it 5 times because I was so bored! This book should be free so people don't waste their money.
I was hoping more was going to happen with Emma and Tyler, but it was a disappointing ending. Wish it had a more exciting ending. It was kind of boring.
The beginning started out fine, but the story was long and drawn out. it's a story about honesty, trust, and loyalty. As I continued to read, it was like nails on a chalk board.
It was a sweet story, but it was really slow, and sort of motionless. Every time something seemed to get exciting, the momentum kind of fizzled out of the drama.
