Rencontrez les trois premiers hommes de ma collection Manchester Ménages.
Welcome to the home of bittersweet M/M romances which will leave you craving more.
Nicole grew bored being a supermodel genius who worked part time for NASA, and decided to take a break from helping solve the mysteries of the universe with Stephen Hawkins to write m/m romance.
She has a loving relationship with her hubby of twenty years, and has achieved a lot in her short life considering she's only eighteen. She has fourteen dogs of all different breeds, plus twenty cats, and when she's not tending to their every need, and solving complex math problems, she loves to sew and can be often found knitting in the garden, which she maintains all by herself with her magical green fingers.
Finding time to make all of her own clothing and master the kitchen better than Gordon Ramsey, she's also a vegan domestic goddess and can often be found cooking up a storm bare foot in her kitchen.
Okay, so that's not true, especially the cooking part, though I do tend to be bare foot and I swear like Gordon does while burning my latest creation -- and I still think NASA will be getting in touch. Any day now!! *crosses fingers* I could sooo do that job because I'm so obviously awesome, but until they do...
I'm a full time author of M/M Romance and Erotica, and somehow I have several bestselling books under my belt. I've been writing for four years, and I self publish all my work under Hidden Pleasures Publishing along with my amazing team of helpers in the form my cover designer Kellie Dennis, editor Jessica McKenna, and all of my beta readers and PA's.
I'm a wife to my beloved hubby and mother to two young girls, and I do in fact have two cats who I adore, but no dog, as the hubby put his foot down. I live in Leeds in the North of England and I love it, despite the terrible weather.
My men are all seeking what everyone is, true love mixed with passion and their own happy-ever-after full of laughter and tears.
I made it to 25% but then had to stop. The way this ménage was shaping up was just not my cup of tea.
MC Samuel is only 18. A runaway and afraid for his life. MC Daniel, the firefighter, has just rescued Sam (who is so underdeleoped and malnourished that everyone thinks he is a young girl at first) has a case of insta-love/lust. So much so he has to run to the men's room in the hospital to rub one out so he can concentrate on talking with Samuel. That creeped me out, big time. And Daniel had just ended his relationship with Milo, a 30 year old police officer who he has been fucking on and off for 6 years. I didn't get far enough into the book to figure out their relationship, but I do know they were both fucking other people during this 6 years. And also that Milo's aggressive nature was one of Daniel's biggest turn ons. (He has to run to his bedroom and rub one out after Milo visits to question Samuel about the arson investigation.) And I didn't mention that Samuel moved in with Daniel the day after the fire. I usually love setups like that, but here it just creeped me out again.
I'm really big on fidelity and romance when it comes to my M/M romance books. Is that realistic when it comes to a real life gay person? Probably not, but this is a romance book. I'm quite sure the 3 of them end up falling madly in love with each other, but I also have this thing about age and 18 year old boys are still babies to me.
I hope others can enjoy this! This review is in no means meant to drive anyone away. It is merely not my style of M/M romance.
I enjoyed the characters, especially Samuel, but I felt the story was missing something and dragged a bit in the middle. Daniel and Milo who have been together on and off over the last six years each needed something the other couldn't give and apparently Samuel was able to fill that gap. Their differences were such a big issue between the two men in the beginning, but that part of the story was just abandoned. It wasn't a bad read, but I think I just expected a bit more depth.
While I wasn't a fan of the second book in this series, this one was a little more tolerable, mostly because there was conflict and suspense mixed in with the romance, and the romance was an okay menage. I say it's only okay because I've read some great menage tales, and this won't hold a candle to them, but still, it was worth a read.
That being said, I still stand behind my conviction that Coleville's writing needs work. Her dialogue quickly devolves into long, flowery, unrealistic monologues, and she sometimes uses the wrong word in a sentence. I guess if you just wanna focus on the kinky guy on guy on guy sex, you can overlook the mediocre writing, but I'm always looking out for the whole package (unintentional pun).
MEH. I read Discovering Dalton and thought I would give this a try, since Milo seemed like an interesting character. But maybe, I should have looked at my review of DD and thought it over more.
This book is... Too perfect?! Or Samuel as a character is?! Also Samuel is only 18, which made the power-imbalance between the 3 even more... "Creepy"?! Milo (police officer) and Daniel (fireman) have been a couple on and off for a long time. They are solid when they are together and they love each other, but both are stubborn and they can't figure out why it can't just work between them.
Samuel is on the run, having been abused and alone for quite some time. He's living in a warehouse, when a fire is started, and Daniel saves him. Daniel is immediately taken with Samuel and his girlish/perfect/fey-like/amazing looks and hair (he thinks Samuel is a girl in the beginning.) Samuel needs a safe place, from the people looking for him. And all of Daniel's protective instincts are out in full force (also his penis... Jeebus christ, the bathroom-masturbation scene was... misplaced.)
Daniel convinces Samuel to come home with him, and thus begins the ménage part of the story. (Thank FUCK that this didn't become another DD!) Milo and Daniel figure out that the traumatised and fey-like Samuel will fit in perfectly into their lives, and they start a relationship. The bad guys are still after Samuel, but if nothing else the masculine and manly Milo and Daniel will be the Knights in shining uniform for Samuel.
Maybe the ménage trope is just not for me (I haven't found one yet that I LOVE), but this book felt too smooth and too perfect. I also had a lot of trouble accepting that the awesome relationship between Daniel and Milo, could not work out without a third... I don't know, maybe it's just the way that Nicole Colville writes, that is not for me.
A lot of potential to the story - much of it unrealized. Too much sex to start - and that's something I rarely say. I liked all 3 MC's but didn't love them. Daniel and Milo seemed kind of boring frankly. Samuel completely unlike how I imagine someone who's been a victim of sex trafficking would be. No therapy? No help? It just seemed so unreal.
What I enjoyed was Samuel's story in general - would have liked to see WAY more of what he experienced. As always when it is referred to, or inferred, tragic experiences not explored by feeling make me distant. I wanted to care more - esp. given what happens towards the end but I didn't.
And I SO wanted to have more exploration of the environment - good grief one of the MC's in the 400+ page story is a firefighter but we get one small scene of him working and yet we never see him in a fire house, with his buddies, discussing his job..etc. Milo was not much different. The characters just didn't engage because they were so isolated.
Spelling and grammar errors were more frequent than I would have liked.
The concept, the Samuel story itself, and the house and final part was very good IMHO. I felt more invested.
I always say when a ménage is done well you can’t beat it and this ménage was done well.
Nicole Colville writes fairly long stories that give you a chance to get your teeth into them and really get to know the characters.
Milo and Daniel have been an on again off again couple for the past six years and at the moment they are off again. Daniel is a firemen and even though he was the most easy going out of the pair he was the one I warmed up to last. He was a little churlish, failing to see what was right in front of him and perpetually horny!
Milo is a Police Officer and although he comes across as cold as and unfeeling he was the one I got from the beginning. He was loyal and totally in love with Daniel but he didn’t know how to say the words leaving himself open to misinterpretation.
What they probably needed was to sit down for some counselling but what they actually got was Samuel.
When Daniel pulls a beautiful waif like woman from a burning building his life is turned upside down. The beautiful woman is in fact a beautiful man and Daniel can’t get him out of his mind, so much so that when he finds out Samuel is in trouble and has nowhere to go he takes him home with him for a couple of days. Already at odds with Milo the situation worsens when Samuel becomes a suspect in the fire and Milo has to question him.
Samuel has his own secrets and some of them seem to be chasing him. As his story slowly comes out it becomes clear he is in danger and so is anyone trying to help him. Where Daniel seems to be led by his hormones where the young man is concerned Milo shows more restraint but still a close relationship forms. It seems Samuel might be what the two men need to mediate between them but before they have a chance to explore anything more Samuel is thrust back into his old life and the race is on to find him.
I was both looking forward and dreading this story. When an author has given you a series with such strong characters as The Hidden Series I am always a little worried I won’t like any new characters they introduce us to. This is one you should look forward to and I am very intrigued for the next one now and can’t wait to see how it works out!
I liked this story. The characters were diverse and well-developed, it was well-paced and had a good old-fashioned villain. I don't get to read many books where events happen in England so this was part of the attraction. I loved how both Milo and Daniel were with Samuel, how patient they were.
In fact, the first part of the book was about Milo and Daniel's relationship and how they came to be together, why it didn't work out between them and what they were doing to try to make things work. The hotness factor of the book is indisputable. There was plenty of steam and it was very enjoyable to read. Oh yes!!! These two men didn't want to give an inch to each other and I don't think they would have made this work without Samuel, and I don't know how they didn't figure that out from the get go. Although it looked like their only real problems were domesticity, lack of spontaneity and communication. But since Daniel laid eyes on Samuel he wanted him and it took some time for Milo to catch up but in the end they made a wonderful Milo-Samuel-Daniel club sandwich with all the fixings: love, passion and gallons of.... whatever it was you just thought!
I liked that these three men were different but wanted the same things. I am glad it worked out for them. Samuel's story is difficult to stomach, and I think that he is so brave - he is a survivor. If he ever existed I would have been proud to know him. In the end it took a twisted love to finish the nightmare. Who would have thought that Samuel's worst tormentor will be his savior? But weirder things happened!
What I didn't like about this book was how both Milo and Daniel were trying to put words in Samuel's mouth. He did have a brain of his own, and I daresay he experienced more than those two will ever do in their lifetimes so for them to try to attempt to make decisions based on what they think he wants and needs without asking him was very discourteous. He is an adult, I would call him 18 years old going on 40! Yes, he was confused plenty about simple things but never about how he felt for Milo or Daniel. I wanted to smack them both a time or two.
Another one was too much talking about feelings!!!! There were moments filled with soooo much sweetness and happiness and unicorn poo that I wanted to think of myself as hard and tough because I love talking about feelings and all but NOT LIKE THIS LONG!!!! Just a little too much! I wished for less. Otherwise it was a very enjoyable read, very well-written! I recommend it!
I think I had very high expectations for this book. I really did like the book. But I fear it lacked depth for me. I didnt think Daniel's character was fleshed out enough. The troubles between Daniel and Milo (like Danny's extra sex partners, Milo's refusal to bottom, Danny's Untidiness and Milo's lack of emotions) they were either forgotten about or just skimmed though. I liked Samuel's character. I thought it was well done.
I will certainly read the next book but in short the book just didnt reach the standards I set for it before I started reading. I have read Stormy Glenn, Joyee Flynn, and countless other authors who write books that are just terrible in comparison to this. But when I read those books, I dont go into it expecting a masterpiece, they mostly deliver what I expect. And this has nothing to do with the author or the book, so please dont be offended, this was just how I felt at the end of the book. That I only just "liked it" thus the three star rating.
This was a nice hot threesome book that did go a little bit beyond the PWP concept. Milo and Daniel have a on again off, off again type relationship. The sexy needs to be saved Samuel bring them together. On the outside of this it is a story I really shouldn't like. Since this is a insta-love/lust type threesome. Plus the fact that Samuel really isn't in a position after being abused for years to be in a healthy threesome. Still it has the two alpha males protecting the delicate Samuel, and it does give a token protest to both of them staying away for fear of hurting Samuel more. For me it works because we get each one of the characters' POV throughout the story. Like most threesome books Samuel is able to draw the two about to breakup guys back together. Also you really can't go wrong with a fireman and a cop together.
I'm on the fence on this book. I enjoyed the story, but at the same time, meh. I would have enjoyed seeing more of how Samuel fixed the problems that Daniel and Milo had on their own. Not all of their issues were resolved by having a third. It's like he was the band-aid that got taped over their issues, but not actually fixing them. They had arguments about a lot of things, and while I could see how Samuel fixed some of them, I would have liked to have more resolution about their issues, rather than so much menage sex. It would have been nice to see Samuel take ownership of his part in their relationship, pushing himself into their arguments and saying "here's how we're going to resolve this."
What a beautiful story filled with excitement, danger, romance, love and tons of great sex! I felt like I was on a journey with these characters. You will fall in love with Samuel pretty much instantly. Nicole did a great job of showing you her characters personalities. You get attached to them very quickly. Nothing was rushed in this book. I appreciate the time Milo and Daniel take with Samuel. You can really feel the love these three share for one another. It seems that Samuel was exactly what Milo and Daniels relationship needed. When Samuel Is in danger they all realize they need to be together, all three of them to be happy. I really enjoyed this book! Highly recommended!
Loved this book. I've read a lot of 3some books and this is in my top favorite. Yes! it is possible for love to come in any number. I know this because I am in a relationship like this, going on five years now. So I love to read about happy, even though I know there will be drama in fiction, stories like this. Looking forward to the rest!
This was like a train wreck. Even though I didn't like it I couldn't stop looking. It was like a trashy mills and boon. So cheesy, over the top. Daniel can't contain himself with want and he has to run to the bathroom to jack off. Yeah, ummm. No.
When Daniel finds a scared and obviously distraught girl locked in a closet while working to put out a fire, his heart breaks just a little bit. Who would want to hurt someone so seemingly innocent? Once he gets to the hospital to check on her, Daniel learns that she is actually a he, Samuel. A run in with his sort of ex, Milo, who is the cop assigned to investigate the arson case only sets Daniel on edge.
Samuel has been through a lot at such a young age. His father was killed when Samuel was still just a child, and then Samuel was kidnapped and forced into a life of sexual servitude by the same men that killed his father. When he tries to run, Daniel follows and offers Samuel a warm bed and a safe place to stay, with him. Milo is less than pleased.
Slowly but surely Samuel needles his way into the lives of these two on again off again lovers. From the start, Samuel knows he wants Daniel and the feeling is mutual, but Daniel keeps the young man at arms length, refusing to take advantage. But then something shifts, and Samuel realizes he is attracted to Milo as well, why just have your cake when you can eat it too. Right about the time the three of them start to explore a relationship, setting ground rules and getting comfortable as a throuple, Samuels worst fear comes for him.
I absolutely fell in love with these three men, especially Samuel. He may be young and broken, still healing from the mental and physical scars left from years of captivity and abuse at the hands of a murderer that claimed to love him, but he knows exactly what he wants. Daniel and Milo do not take advantage though, in fact, they push Samuel away on several occasions, wanting him to be absolutely one hundred and fifty percent certain before they take their relationships to the next level. As well, each man brings something different and vital to their union. Milo is the strength, shouldering as much as he can for his two men. Daniel is the heart, so gentle, loving and patient until Samuel is put in harms way, that is when Daniel finally loses it. And Samuel, he is beautiful, young, vibrant, an old soul and so full of life to spite everything that has been dumped on him.
Colville really created a loving and nurturing environment for these guys in the midst of all the insanity that was circling the drain, waiting for the perfect moment to take back what he thinks is his. You see, that is what really draws Samuel to Daniel and Milo. They give him freedom, they don’t suffocate him or try to control him, and they truly love him unconditionally, there are no strings or requirements.
There were several typos and misspelled or misplaced words, BUT, I read an early ARC copy so I’m certain that will be reconciled. I’m also not a fan of sex just for sex sake in a story, if the scene doesn’t add to or advance the storyline then cut it. That being said, I’m still rating this one with high marks because I was so taken with the mechanics of the throuple, the love and passion, understanding and trust that they based their relationship on. And they had to work for it, nothing was just handed to them, there was no add water and bam you’re in love aspect to this story.
If you are a fan of menage or threesome stories this is a must read. There is also a very intriguing storyline with the fire and how the three men have a different role to play. A little bit of suspense, a whole lot of passion and the men always communicate their feelings, which was a bonus as well for me.
Nicole Colville introduces us to the three men who start off the Manchester Ménage series. An alpha male, an understanding male and a pretty boy. Apart, they are all just looking for love and acceptance … together they find strength and power.
Milo is our alpha male police officer. His one fault is not being able to voice his feelings. He’s losing Daniel and has to overcome his fears, has to let him know how he really feels and truly let him into his heart. When Samuel comes into Daniel’s life and he seeing how Daniel looks at him, he knows that it’s going to be truly over unless he takes the plunge. The sex between them us off-the-charts but Daniel needs more and it’s up to Milo to convince him that he has that more to give him. He has to overcome his fears and be totally honest with Daniel.
Daniel cannot go on not really knowing how Milo feels. He tells him that it’s over. He can’t go on knowing that Milo’s family doesn’t approve of him, that Milo won’t admit to his feelings for him, that Milo is hiding from everything. Six years of being together, breaking up and getting back together has finally taken its toll on him and he’s finished trying to convince Milo that he is all he needs and that he loves him. Enter Samuel and the instant attraction.
Samuel has a long and horrid past. He’s in hiding … he’s running from the men that have broken him. He’s afraid that the people around him will be destroyed if he stays in one place to long, if he makes friends or reveals who he truly is. He can’t care for someone and them watch them be destroyed because of him. Until Daniel. He convinces Samuel to stop running, just give him some time to try and help him and maybe get to the bottom of things. But Milo being a police officer is not helping, especially with his permanent scowl and alpha tendencies. He scares the hell out of Samuel. Until he sees the true man underneath all of the gruff.
It’s instant attraction for Daniel … it’s instant jealousy for Milo … it’s instant denial for Samuel. It’s a chemical reaction when all three come together and face the past, the fears and the truth about how they all feel. As the past becomes the present and the future looks to be bleak, it’s Milo who brings Samuel home and breaks through the barriers that have all three of them finally looking forward, voicing their love and accepting the future that they have together.
Nicole Colville has a knack of setting up her characters so that we totally understand and feel what they are going through. We know their pasts and look forward to seeing how they work out their future. She writes strong men even when you think they should be weak. She brings three totally different personalities and makes them one. She tells a complete story and weaves the past into the present, seamlessly. Yes, I totally enjoy how Nicole Colville tells a story, how she builds her characters and mixes the suspense with the love. How she starts the tale and builds on feelings of all her men, brings us to the crescendo and then gives us a happily-ever-after that you would not have expected in the beginning.
Saving Samuel is book one in Author Nicole Colville's new Manchester Ménage Collection.
I will start off by saying Ms. Colville rocked this Ménage, this had the perfect fit and developments in here leaving no one left to feel less wanted or less desire do. This story had the perfect balance in it, at times I'm weary on reading Ménage stories afraid of someone being left out but this author did an amazing job.
We have Daniel a very sexy hot fireman that will heat you up add to that his partner the powerful hot and sexy policeman Milo. These two have been together on and off for six years something is always missing between them both..well except for the scorching hot sex that always seems to work for them, but.... Still there is that connection they can't seem to get right which leads them on the never ending emotional roller coaster of insecurities.
Everyone has a past, and some are running from it, desperate not to be found. For Samuel, his monsters from the past are real and continue to chase him. It takes two caring men to save him, but.... Samuel is not the only one needing saving. Daniel finds Samuel and saves him but is soon very drawn to this beautiful man, something inside him pulls and he can't explain it. These two form a special caring and protective bond and it's at a time when Daniel and Milo are on very rocky grounds. I fell in love with Samuel from the very beginning I wanted to reach out and hold him and protect him, which is exactly where Daniel plastered himself. Now we have Milo... well it took me awhile to warm to him but when you see through his hard shell you will fall hard. Nicole wrote this story in such a way I felt like I was right there with these three men crying with them holding them and well let's just say the sex scenes were WOW!!! . This story starts off by Daniel saving Samuel but in actuality it really Samuel who saves Daniel and Milo. I absolutely loved how Ms. Colville had just the right amount of angst where you will be holding on for dear life and holding your breathe but have no fear great things come to those who wait. The character development in this story is done so brilliantly, the growing feelings and emotions between these three main characters was absolutely superb. I can't recommend this book enough it definitely deserves higher than the five star rating. So... Don't delay go "One Click" this gem Now!!!!
I know I am a little late getting this review..LOL What can I say about Ms. Colville's latest hit, Saving Samuel except that is magnificent. I love menage books to begin with and I am always excited to see how the author is going to construct the the pieces of this type of relationship. Of course, Nicole did not disappoint at all. The dynamics of the characters managed to balance one another out. The story was full of just the right amount of angst and suspense to keep the reader vested in the characters.
Daniel and Milo have been on and off in their relationship for 6 years. They can't seem to commit to a full time relationship. Daniel knows he wants Milo but Milo just can't seem to give it to him. Daniel is the fireman and is a big softie who truly just wants to feel loved. He is a strong compassionate man. He leads with his heart and while thats always not a good thing it is just who he is. He knows he is ready to settle down. Milo is a policeman who likes to be in control. He is all alpha and his life needs to be structured. Now, Samuel is a young man who is desperate to remain hidden. Samuel is running from a tragic past. He has been on his own for a while and just surviving each day is an accomplishment. When an accident throws him in the path of Daniel and Milo he realizes that if he listens to his heart and accepts help he may just have a chance at a normal life.
What I loved about the three of these men is that they worked very hard to come together. It was a great journey of friendship to lovers. I loved how ironic the title is to the story because the even though Samuel was rescued, I believe he is the one who saved Milo and Daniel. Not just their relationship but each one of them. Samuel came into the pictured and just seemed to balance them. I loved the vulnerability in Samuel yet I also admired his strength. I loved how Milo is so tough on the exterior but yet he needs Daniel and Samuel to feel alive. Milo is the strength in the relationship. You can't help but love the easy going Daniel. He is so full of love, he isn't afraid to just go for it.
The story is passionate and captivating. It will keep you on your toes for sure...it gets pretty raw and intense. The sex is romantic yet so sizzling hot. This is a great read that kept me wanting more. I can't wait to read the next installment for sure!!
There is nothing I love more than new characters from one of my favourite authors, so to get three in the one book is like Christmas.
We are pulled deep into a world that our unsung heroes knew existed, a world filled with darkness and deceit, but we will get onto that later.
Daniel is a fireman, okay so you had me hooked at the thought of that, then you add in a hunky Police officer and the fires Daniel fights aren’t the only thing getting hot around here. Throw in a young man who needs protecting and you have your Manchester Ménage.
Everyone has a past, and some are running from it, desperate not to be found. For Samuel the monsters under the bed are real and don’t just live under his bed. Fate brought him into Samuel’s life at a time when they both needed someone. Daniel and Milo have been struggling with their relationship and Samuel could be the magical ingredient that will bring them back together.
The characters are well formed and I found myself caring for both Samuel and Daniel pretty much from the outset. Milo needed a little longer to win me over, and I am a tough nut to crack. I put the fact he managed to do it entirely down to the skills of Nicole and the world she creates when she sits down to write these books which she shares with us. It felt like I knew them, like they were going to drop round for a coffee and biscuits with me. I almost wish they could!
There is plenty of hot sexing in the pages, but it is also balanced perfectly with the emerging feelings and emotions of our three main characters. A balance which can be difficult with this type of book; but a balance that is perfectly achieved.
I won’t give away any of the secrets that will be revealed, but just know that there is more than enough drama to keep you entertained.
All in all a great story that you won’t want to end, but when it does, hopefully like me you will be begging for more (trust me I already have).
I very rarely end up with one of those "everyone liked it but me" moments - but man...this is definitely one of those books. It started off creeping me out, making me feel really uncomfortable with the nicknames & touching & sheltering, and just never really got much better for me.
Mostly I just felt like it was too soon for Samuel to jump into this kind of relationship and I really, REALLY would have liked a bit of counseling for the boy up in here somewhere. Yes, the author makes a point of saying that Samuel spent a lot of the past year (after running away & getting clean) thinking about his life, pondering his choices and whatnot (in an attempt to get past the things that happened to him, I guess)...but most of his actions and thought processes seem to contradict this.
So, yeah. I think I could have given it a higher rating were there to have been a bit of some professional intervention and self-actualization realized via therapy or whatnot. Oh, and if Samuel had spent some time on his own as an adult learning about himself.
About the only good things I can say about it are that even though it's pretty much Insta-Love, the relationships & sexual situations do take a while to build toward...and these guys really like to talk about their feelings. (Even though the conversations are repetitive, don't seem to resolve much and/or appear accusatory/blame-placing in nature.)
(Also, I've never really understood the whole "chicks with dicks" argument about MM Romance stories and often feel it's a bit of a derogatory term...but wow, okay, I think I get it now as it seems to apply really well here. Still derogatory, though.)
This is a beautiful story of life and love. Nicole has done a brilliant job of writing this gripping story!! It is HOT, HOT and a yet it is so tender you melt right into the characters. When Daniel saves a beautiful young from a fire. a man who has had a horrific past, it changes his life as well as his boyfriend's, Milo. Daniel brings Samuel home to give him a place to stay and hopefully keep him safe. Daniel falls in love with him at first sight. When Milo becomes more involved with Samuel, he too falls in love with this beautiful man. Their lives together slowly becomes the best life any of them has ever known, then Samuel's predators come onto the scene. This is a Must read!! I highly recommend it. I loved it and couldn't put it down. My heart swelled reading the interaction these three gorgeous men feel for each other. If you love MMM Sex, Love, and a wonderful dynamics of a Menage Relationship, you will love this. Two men turn into three.... Life and Love Amidst the struggles from the past.
Um, I not sure about this series, or whether I'll continue with it. I thought the part which Gigi objected to (you should read her mini review) was downright sleazy, and I totally agreed with her, but somehow Samuel got under my skin, silly sap that I am. I didn't care too much for either Daniel or Milo, Daniel seemed very immature for his age (and for his position as a fire fighter) and Milo, well he seemed to be very indecisive considering he was a police officer. It was only really when Samuel was snatched again by the men who'd forced him onto the streets, and who'd set fire to the building he was in when he was rescued by Daniel, that I started to thaw towards the two guys who'd been left behind and were wondering whether they'd ever find Samuel alive. 3.5 stars, and can I politely suggest that the editor borrows a thesaurus and chooses different words for 'hard'...it featured 6 times on one page alone, and I'm sure that other words could have been 'inserted' instead, hehe.
This book had it all. Sexy Cop, Sexy Fireman and a troubled runaway. Mix in some bad guys and you have a dramatic menage. Daniel saves Sam from a burning abandoned building and thinks Sam is a she. Milo is Daniel's very recent ex-boyfriend and is the cop sent to question Sam about the fire. When Sam runs Daniel catches him and offers him a place to stay. The attraction is instantaneous. Milo isn't ready to let Daniel go and is just a little jealous of Daniel's attraction to Sam. Living together to protect Sam brings Daniel and Milo closer together and adding Sam to their bed completes the circle. Enter the bad guys, will Sam every be safe...you'll have to read to find out. The characters are complex but work well together. The sex scenes are out of this world and leave you breathless. Enjoy
You know a book is beyond amazing when you go to put it in a collection... And you realize it fits in several of them! Daniel and Milo have been together for 6 years but have never been able to connect 100%, always something missing. Then Daniel saves Samuel and they realize he is the missing piece to the puzzle. Such a tender love story. Samuel has been through so much and Milo and Daniel are there to help him through it all.. Milo even to the point of risking his job! And when Samuels past catches up to him and attempts to take him away from them... His men will be there to save him no matter what! Must read story!! This is one I'll be reading over and over! And I can't wait for book 2!!
There were aspects of the book I really liked, then there were many I didn't. The characters are all great in their own way and the storyline is interesting. A firefighter and a police officer who have been seeing each other for 6 years both fall for the same man they save/investigate on a case. The big problem I have is insta-love. All three men become so wrapped in each other before we have had a chance to ease into a menage relationship. The dialogue also becomes super lovey dovey and cheesy. On the upside the sex is HOT.
Oh I wanted to love it. What I liked: hot guys, hot sex, decent plot, hea What I didn't: instalove, went on forever... And nearly overdosed on the sweetness. A good 1/3 could have been removed.
This is the perfect book for a lot of people. Just not me.
