Each section consists of:
"Reflection": A personal question for the reader to reflect on in preparation for reading the text. A dangerous precedent for those prone to eisegesis.
"Situation": A short paragraph that does pretty well in summarizing the historical setting for each section.
"Observation": The text in NKJV and NIV, usually about a chapter.
"Exploration": Questions to help the reader think more about the text and apply it to their lives. These questions do deal with helpful issues in the text, but often ignore important aspects of the text. The questions generally deal well with the aspects of the text at which they are directed.
"Inspiration": Often an illustration to help readers understand a principle from the text
"Reaction": Questions to help apply the text. Good questions.
"Life lessons": Looking at other scriptures on the same issues.
"Devotion": A prayer.
Then "journalling" and "for further reading".

The book could be used as a helpful supplement for learning to study the Bible, and forces the reader to study the Bible for themselves. But there are important aspects of the text that, for whatever reason, are ignored.

Another excellent tool to dig deeper into God’s Word and apply it to our daily lives. Each book had thought provoking questions to help you understand each book and how to apply it to our lives today. This book is designed for group study but can easily be used as solo as I did. I thoroughly enjoyed delving deeper into Ezra and Nehemiah. I highly recommend this study!!

I used this book with a Bible Study group I lead. It was easy to read and the questions were appropriate for both mature and newer Christians.

These books of the Bible are so full of treasures for today. Lucado asks poignant questions that spark excellent discussion and encourage a deeper, life-changing walk with God. I admit Nehemiah is a favourite book of mine, so I will read books that will feed my learning on all it has to offer. Highly recommended.
