Yes! This is the ferret book I've been waiting for. Trust good ol' Animal Planet to get it right. I've read a couple books on ferrets now, and I've been a little disappointed in what I've found. Especially now that I've read this one.

Because finally! A book that actually says ferrets are obligate carnivores and that they do not, and cannot eat grains, fruits or vegetables because they can't digest them. It even says treats that aren't meat shouldn't be given (at last!!). It talks about raw feeding, thank goodness, but then goes into what ferrets should eat if raw feeding is not available or possible for owners, which is also great.

This book also deeply discusses illnesses common to ferrets, and the symptoms that ferret owners should look out for (and even when they should contact a vet). There's even a guide to finding the right ferret vet!

Yeah, if you're a ferret owner, this book is invaluable.
