Spent the last three weeks learning about Wordpress and implementing what I learned in two different websites. Read this book at the beginning and end of the process (along with several others).
Has a couple good hints to implement on a website, but this book is far from the "complete step-by-step guide" of creating amazing websites. I did pick up while free on Amazon so wasn't expecting much.
Provides a nice high level overview which got me the basic language to go deeper into the process. Second reading, after the actual doing of the programming, had a lot of "oh, I remember not understanding what he was talking about, now it all makes sense."
So if you just want a feel for the process before diving in, this isn't a bad book. If you want an actual step-by-step guide, this book won't help you.
And those "10 little known...", yeah, typical web hype to get you to click through. If you aren't aware of these things, you haven't been paying attention.
