Oh freaking crap! This book was amazing! Headcanon much? Ummm, yeah, I think so.
SO. MANY. WOWS.
I didn't see any of this stuff coming. The writing was amazing (as always, DUH!) but the story line... shoooot. I pretty sure my eyes stayed bugging out of my head the whole time I was reading this book. Honestly, the first two books I was all for Team Talon... Now I'm leaning on Team Owen. Talon is such a douchebag in this book. Grrr. I can't wait for book two to come out because I am ready to start climbing the walls I need to know what happens next. I just hope the next one doesn't make me tear up like this one did. Haha. So not cool! I really enjoyed and loved this book though. (Of course) I swear I think these books are getting better and better. All of these books just keep you sucked in and wanting more and more. Perfection at it's best, here. Lol

"The Truth about Broken Trees" is the third book in the Light Keeper series by author Kelly Hall. I like this series and book 3 did not disappoint, in fact, I'm once again anxiously awaiting the next installment. With a tumultuous teenage love triangle, ghosts, magical waters and several family secrets, "The Truth about Broken Trees" kept me entertained from start to finish.

If you've been reading the Light Keeper series (and if you're not, grab book 1 "The Legend of the Light Keeper" now) then like me, you're invested in the Owen-Lily-Talon triangle. Should Lily be with Talon or with Owen? Personally, I've liked Owen from the start—he may be a smart-ass and have a bit of an ego, but he's always looked after Lily, putting her first. Can't say the same about Talon and "The Truth about Broken Trees" explores this more.

There's a lot going on in this book. From exposed family secrets to deadly ghosts, lurking shadows—literally lurking in bedrooms, very creepy and a bit disturbing—to Owen and Lily learning how to work together to harness their powers into something more formidable. Yes, Owen has some special abilities as well, but that's as close as you'll get to a spoiler from me.

I enjoyed "The Truth about Broken Trees" and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys paranormal YA. It's well-written with likable characters, believable dialogue and a solid story. Plus author Kelly Hall used a real haunted road as the source of inspiration for Bragg Road. It's true, check out the pic of the real "Ghost Road" in Saratoga, Texas on her site.

This YA series offers a good balance of action, romance and paranormal mystery. Check out "The Legend of the Light Keeper" and "The Secret of Strange Waters" and then dive into "The Truth about Broken Trees" for a story you won't want to miss.

At first I was a bit worried I wouldn’t remember the story as it had been a while since I’ve read the second book.

However, this is a unique and engrossing story, and I recalled it instantly.

It was good, if not maddening, and in the best way possible, because I care about the characters so much and it’s a little like a soap opera in that sense.

Instead of reading this book, I felt like it was an experience, like I was pulled into one of Lily’s visions and experienced this whole adventure with her. Kelly Hall excels at that. I think of this book – and this whole series – as a soap opera for teens meets VC Andrews (the REAL VC Andrews – not her ghostwriter) meets Texas small town fiction.

When I first started reading this book I had only intended to read the first page to get a glimpse of how the book will read. However, I couldn’t stop until I’d finished. It’s very suspenseful and is well-told. As always with Kelly Hall, I will wait with bated breath for the next installment!

First time reader of this author and now i am hooked. This was such a great and creative series. i purchased book one first and was hooked after the first page. i then purchased books 2 and three.

The characters were easy to fall in love with and follow, along with the story. the author made the mental visions so easy and vivid of the surroundings and the characters actions felt so real.

i would highly recommend this author and this series. after finishing books 1-3, i panicked. i can't wait until book four is published..oh please hurry
