Summary of the
"Once She Saw...A Blind Man" opens with the image of a quiet suburb in Nashville, Tennessee. Miss Araminta, the 67 year old retired insurance agent, is one of the residents of the Melrose suburbia. Though it was not the fanciest of neighborhoods, it had everything the people needed within walking distance. After losing her husband— the only man she had ever loved—in the Vietnam War, Ms. Araminta resolved to live alone. She now owns a small business of selling crocheted dish towels, stoles, mufflers, lap robes and so on. As a respected member of the church, she also does a lot of volunteer work and helps out people in need.

One morning while she was on her way to the grocery store, Miss Araminta spotted a seemingly well-to-do woman stealing change from Bill, the blind beggar that the local community knows and loves. Seeing someone steal from this helpless man left Miss Araminta shocked. But she knew she had to help the poor man and seek justice. As she proceeded to find more information about the thief, she discovered something she never guessed. Who is this woman? Why was she stealing from the blind beggar? Will Miss Araminta be able do right by Bill? Order your copy to find out!

Criticising “Once She Saw a Blind Man” feels like kicking a puppy (not that I'd know – the only dog I ever kicked was an Alsatian that had just bitten me and was coming in for seconds!)
But, to cut to the chase, I didn't really like it. It's a short book about mostly nice people, one who has fallen on hard times, and a nasty critter determined to see he stays that way.
Luckily the blind beggar, Bill, has been taken under the wing of do-gooder and busybody Ms Araminta Ferguson, 67, a retired insurance agent.
Everything happens just the way you would expect, guided by the unerring hand of the author, everyone is always in the right place at the right time. It's completely linear and presumably taken from a You Tube tutorial around the lines of “100 Plots That Work Every Time.”
It's the kind of book that might appeal to be people who don't read many books and don't expect much from those they do.
I'm still looking for the mystery

Short but cozies

This is the first time reading this author Deborah Diaz, who is a retire Insurance Investigator from Tennessee. Ms Araminta is a 67 year old retired Insurance Investigator who volunteered at her church and crochet washclothes, hats and scarves for the homeless.

A Blind a Man is about Liam who blind from a work accident. He leaves his family because he doesn't want to be a burden Ellen , wife and Emily, daughter. Ellen steal from change from a blind man and Ms. Araminta is a witness to the crime from there for heck break out.

This is a very short story but enjoy. Hope is the word for this story.

This was difficult to read, which is not good to say since the entire book was around 70 pages. I finally began skimming with a few pages to go. The dialogue was very elementary and repetitive. The main character kept telling of all the work done through the church, but she's not much of a believer obviously. Church is just a do-gooder place for nosy people, not a place of worship. The characters were developed poorly and this is not a mystery. I could go on, but I will keep it short. I did not like it and probably won't read another in the series.

Once She Saw…A Blind Man

I received this book as an Arc from the author and I’m writing a review because I honestly loved it! I’ve been reading for over 50 years and this is one of the best books I’ve read. It touches your heart and soul. If a person never reads anything else I highly recommend it!

A delightful short story, although I am not sure I would call it a mystery. It could do with a decent editor, however. Additionally, Diaz has no idea on how a 14yo girl speaks. Nonetheless, I loved the story. It was not what I was expecting.

this was a quick fun good news read. I really enjoyed the story and the characters all interacted with each other very well. This book was just what I needed at this difficult time. I'm glad I found it and I can't wait to read another book by Deborah Diaz.

A good mystery without death

This was a fun read with a lot of kindness to go around. This story focuses on helping out others in need and not jumping to conclusions until you know the real story. I wish social services were really this good.

More of a human interest story than a cozy and definitely lacking editing.
However the story line is good and the writer shows some potential

Inspirational

A nice inspirational story, good feel story. Nothing wrong with it but I would not have called this a mystery.
