Criticising “Once She Saw a Blind Man” feels like kicking a puppy (not that I'd know – the only dog I ever kicked was an Alsatian that had just bitten me and was coming in for seconds!)
But, to cut to the chase, I didn't really like it. It's a short book about mostly nice people, one who has fallen on hard times, and a nasty critter determined to see he stays that way.
Luckily the blind beggar, Bill, has been taken under the wing of do-gooder and busybody Ms Araminta Ferguson, 67, a retired insurance agent.
Everything happens just the way you would expect, guided by the unerring hand of the author, everyone is always in the right place at the right time. It's completely linear and presumably taken from a You Tube tutorial around the lines of “100 Plots That Work Every Time.”
It's the kind of book that might appeal to be people who don't read many books and don't expect much from those they do.
I'm still looking for the mystery
