Was not a fan of the majority of the art. Gwenpool doesn't actually play that big of a role, should've just named it the She-Hulk holiday special. Overall didn't care much for this. 2,5 stars.

One of my favorite comics ever! I love Gwenpool.
Plus - I'm starting to really like Ms. Marvel. I'll have to read her comics ASAP.
It was good to see so many people in only one comic! Loved it.

It’s… not very good. Despite being a “Gwenpool special”, it’s really more of a She-Hulk special. You have a few different stories, each with their own art and writing teams, that all coalesce into the She-Hulk thru-story. It’s a great idea, except the She-Hulk story is the worst part of the book and is the majority story. I don’t think the art is good and the story is to ignore money problems and party all night… I guess that’s easy when you’re a superhero lawyer, but as someone in debt, unable to pay normal bills, or barely even food, this message annoys the hell out of me. I understand there’s an element of placing profit above happiness, which would be fine to work against, but that isn’t how this reads.

Ms. Marvel’s story was good, I love her family, they were the funniest part of the book, and her struggles with identity at Christmas is understandable. Gwenpool was a highlight too, funny and over the top, with great artwork. But as a whole, the She-Hulk brings this book down hard, which is really sad.

A holiday party and real estate drama frame this holiday-themed anthology. The first half was largely forgettable, but the second half was a lot of fun. The biggest drawback here is the unfortunate art.

Little disappointed with this. The art and story was a bit disjointed. And Gwenpool doesn’t even show up until page 35 of 50 pages.

Gwenpool Holiday Special by Gerry Duggan and Charles Soule and a bunch of other, is a one-off fifty-page comic ostensibly about the new Gwenpool character but actually a She-Hulk story with a bunch of cameos. But who the hell is Gwenpool, you ask? Apparently she started out as a variant cover when Gwen Stacey was doing the variant-cover-rounds dressing up as various characters (I assume to promote Spider-Gwen). Then, when the Marvel powers-that-be saw how popular she was (how many people were cosplaying her), they gave her her own series. So that's pretty cool. I just wish they'd also given her pants (or a skirt, I'd settle for a skimpy skirt). This holiday special is a lead-in to that upcoming series, which doesn't start until April. She is also, apparently, in/going to be in the first three issues of the rebooted Howard the Duck, but I haven't read any of those.

As I said, this is mainly a She-Hulk comic. She-Hulk has to save the building her office is in from being sold. She enlists the help of her paralegal with a magic monkey and Patsy Walker (Hellcat) to throw an end-of-year party with all her superhero friends. That's the overarching story that ties everything together.

We also have short cameo stories from a few groups of characters: there's Ms Marvel hating the Christmas (and Chanukah) season because she feels left out; there's the Hawkeyes and Deadpool catching a bad guy; and there's Gwenpool who has a little mission before the party. These were all fun, with the Ms Marvel story being my favourite. Gwenpool was an interesting new character who seems to be Marvel's version of a teen Harley Quinn. (From a bit of googling, it seems her backstory is she's from the "real" world and has been transported into the world of Marvel comics, which she read in the real world, and thinks that everything is a video game and has no consequences. So that's kind of fun.)

This was an enjoyable issue, long enough to feel worth my time and money, but still pretty quick to get through. I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in any of the characters mentioned above. And don't worry, you don't have to like or hate the holiday season to enjoy it.

4.5 / 5 stars

Putting Kate Bishop on the cover of anything is a surefire way to ensure my attention. So, even if this holiday issue was a bust, I would have been satisfied with one shot of Kate Bishop decking the halls. However, this unexpected gem had not only Kate Bishop, but Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel, Deadpool, and the confusing-continuity that is Gwen Stacey.
I'm not the first person to comment that, though this is a Gwenpool special, Gwen is barely in it. I don't mind it as much, though, since anything that combines Deadpool and Gwen Stacey is bound to be ridiculous. This focuses more on She-Hulk, who decides to defeat evil by... partying? Hey, whatever. It was funny.
Kate Bishop, Clint Barton, and Deadpool team up again. I have to say, this trio work magically! I was hoping, post-Hawkeye-vs.-Deapool (and Alex Kot's Secret Avengers, for those who want more goofiness), that these guys would reunite. I know that Deadpool is running around, cracking up the galaxy, but it's always nice to see your favorites together again. I also appreciate that Kate and Deadpool have a genuine appreciation for each other. It's oddly sweet.
Kamala is, as always, an adorable goober. I loved how Gwen was geeking out over her. She deserves that admiration. Though, I sometimes feel like Ms. Marvel is forced into this After-School Special box; while she is an unusual peacekeeper in a world of violent superheroes, Kamala is more than a moral compass. She doesn't exist just to point out cultural misunderstandings, or to Find the Answer. Her flaws are what make her so relatable-so a real story would have been a great addition to her canon.
As per usual, Duggan brings the fun. I'm still a little lost on how Gwen is living ten different lives right now in Marvel Now!, but there's no escaping the entertainment.

This book would be better if there was actually more than 10 pages of Gwenpool in a 51 page special (Kamala was great thought!).

So yes Harley Quinn...I mean Gwenpool is here, you know what they say about imitation and flattery blah blah blah. But yeah this special was billed as Gwenpool but she's barely in it, but when she is, it's quite amusing.

I did not like the art except Guihiru's 10 Gwenpool pages and Juan Gideon's 10 Ms. Marvel pages. Both of the art in these sections were great, the rest of the book...not so much. The story here is pointless to me, maybe because I don't read She-Hulk because at the end of the day this is a She-Hulk x Point One x Holiday story. The Gwenpool and Kamala sections are fun and the tone is great, the rest of the book not so much.

It's a fun read but only read it if you must complete your reading for Gwenpool and Ms. Marvel.

I will say this about Gwenpool, as much as I joke that thematically she is essentially Harley Quinn which is a great character, Gwenpool is fun. I am always up for more fun and with the kawaii art and the sense of fun that is similar to Deadpool but at this moment less vulgar, it's a good thing.

Marvel has me interested in Gwenpool and I guess at the end of the day the special did do it's job.

Onward to the next book!

3 Stars cuz of a 50 pages book, I first saw Gwenpool on page 30+ or something... and No I didn't wanna read about She-Hulk's party for 20 pages. Seriously now?!

Anyway, Gwenpool. I hate to say it. Because I expected it to be a total shit because all of that shit with changing characters and bringing other's with same shit from other characters and no new fresh ideas is NOT my cup of tea, BUT... Gwenpool is awesome.

She's funny. She's silly. She's cute. She's a Harley Quin only more naive and more cute. Also she's training off of how-to youtube videos. You gotta respect that.

I'd give it a try if I were you. Or wait for the ongoing. Because the let down in this x-mas special is that you have to read 30 pages of boring stuff.. (ok the Deadpool/Hawkeye story wasn't bad at all. But the She-Hulk story was UGHHHHHHHH...) and yeah, then you get Gwenpool for about 5 pages. But it's good.

it was annoying to find this honestly, the title says gwenpool holiday special you search with that u will not find it.
anyway yeah i was here for gwenpool its one of two issues about gwenpool i didnt read yet.
and after all she is the only modern marvel title i have read, i am still in the 90th or something of x men, and if it wasnt for the movies and tv series i wouldnt have known most heroes in this title i still dropped atleast 20% of them lol.
anyway what can i say i love gwenpool, but this issue is just a h0liday service for the fans nothing more so dont expect a strong story or a lasting effect from this story on any other stories.

I love holiday specials. On tv, short story anthologies, novellas, poems, comics... I love them. If my life is going crap, the best thing is to wrap up and read something cheesy, with a guaranteed happy ending and this one in particular was able to introduce me to some characters I had heard of, but not yet met while also featuring some old favorites of mine. And Gwenpool? Definitely a new fave! This special was cute, and yes, predictably cheesy; it had quite a few laugh out loud moments and it made it a special I enjoyed immensely and will definitely go back to when I need cheering up!

Hmm...Gwenpool was barely in this. She really doesn't seem all that intriguing as her own character. I'm not really sure if I like this whole "female version"of a charter that already exists as a male character for Deadpool. I really liked Spider-Gwen and I love watching Supergirl because they have their own personalities. Sure, they're bound to share some personality traits, but if I don't see anything special in Gwenpool #1 I'm probably not going to be following her anymore.

I've just finish of reading this and.... First of all I have to say that I was expecting for Gwenpool to star in the story but she just appeared at the end. And anyway, she seems cool. I hope she is.

My favorite story was Clint, Kate and Wade spending christmas together. HOW CUTE. I love these three so much.

This should have been called the she-hulk holiday special. I was really disappointed.

This was suprisingly good. I had not expected to like it so much. I picked it up because Bob from Talking Comics liked it, but I was still surprised that the story involved me that much! It is a bunch of smaller stories tied together and it was wonderful. Also Ms. Marvel need to take some time for her friends!

It's first and foremost a She Hulk holiday special, as her story is the main focus in this special. The art for her segment is Iffy, while the story is a forgettable one. The strengths lie in the other stories, whether it's Deadpools fantastic team up with the Hawkeyes, a cute little tale with the always welcome Ms Marvel and a fun tale about Gwenpool, a character who's sure to be popular.

Art wasn't my favorite but the story more than made up for it. A great collection of holiday superhero stories, all taking place on the same night. Not sure why this is a Gwenpool title as She-Hulk is the central character, but whatever. It's an excellent & really fun exploration of what the holiday season is really about, no matter your beliefs. Loved it!

The Hawkeyes/Deadpool segment was the best thing about this, but I also loved getting more Jen, more Kamala and an introduction to Gwenpool (obligatory ?!?!), whose ongoing series by Chris Hastings I am very much looking forward to.

I wasn't that keen on the art for the She-Hulk story - I could barely recognise Patsy for one thing - but over all a silly, fun - if throwaway - comic.

Man, that art on the linking story was atrocious. I hated every single panel of that.

Some of the smaller pieces weren't bad and I got to see this Gwenpool character. Not sure I'll follow her, but it was an interesting introduction.

Although it was a gwenpool holiday special there was little of gwen in this story, I love gwen she's humorous and has that innocent side to her, wasn't too big of a fan of she hulk give me Matt Murdoch any day! If this issue had more gwen and more deadpool it would've saved this story a bit

I think out of all the stories in this issue I liked the Hawkeye vs Deadpool story line in it. Gwenpool it it was weird and didn't make any sense at all.
