The 2016 user guide was extremely helpful in mastering different voice commands with Alexea and Echo. Recommend reading to utilize all the many different features.
I just ordered The Amazon Echo and wanted to learn more about it before it arrives, I'm quite excited about it. This guide gives very good information and I will use it for any questions I may have upon set up. However the typos, on the very first page to start, bothered me. Not enough to stop reading but really, if you are going to write a guide, book or whatever, read what you wrote out loud. Maybe Alexa could help you with that. I love the fact that people can self-publish on Amazon and I have read a lot of great self-published authors books, The Martian for one. Please, please edit your work.
A good intro. I suspect that some of the sample questions were not vetted. For instance, how many cups in a kilogram? Kilogram is a measure of weight and cups is a measure of volume. How many syllables does hippopotamus have? Alexa could not count the syllables for any word I gave her. These are just two examples.
Whilst I enjoyed most of the book I do believe he needs to expand his vocabulary. He does a great job of explaining the echo device, I was somewhat disappointed at the number of pages that where just example questions to ask Alexa. Including: What day of the year will Thanksgiving be on this year? Isn't it always on a Thursday? Funny.
There were some uses that I learned and will enjoy. Linking my prime music via Bluetooth to Echo will be wonderful. I am looking forward to other enhancements in the future.
Got the Echo as a Xmas gift. Mostly use it to play music in kitchen. This guide has opened me up to many more uses and possibilities including smart home apps, Google calendar, etc.
Non techies rejoice for this overview of the many features of Amazon's ECHO provides the reader with all the essentials for ma a purchase decision or for getting your new UP A up and running. Well worth the price!
Was a great primer for me coming from the Apple ecosystem. Easy to understand and put into action. I would certainly recommend having the book in your hands and the Echo next to you as you work through the chapters.
I found this book to cover all the basics and very easy to read. I book marked a few pages to go back to later. In would recommend this book to all Amazon Echo beginners
