I’ve always done the right thing. People expect nothing less from me.Then came medical school, deadlines, and the pressure of being the best. I became overwhelmed, seeking out alternative ways to stay on top, like extracurricular activities with my mentor. After a while my life was spinning out of control. I fell in love and began having an affair with my married professor, and to top it off we’ve been caught by his vengeful spouse. She’ll stop at nothing to expose her husband for the lying, cheating man he’s become, putting me directly in the crossfires of their very public separation. The school board is talking about revoking my credits. I think he loves me. He claims we can have a future if I’m patient, but now there is something pressing me to make drastic decisions. I’m pregnant and he thinks it’s best if I abort the child before anyone finds out. My only choice is to leave town, to return to the family who I know will protect me.I don’t know what’s going to happen when they find out the truth, but at this point nothing can hurt me more than losing everything I’ve worked my whole life for. This title is part of a series, but can be read as a stand alone.*Contains adult content.*
Jennifer Foor is an award winning Contemporary Romance Author. She's best known for the Mitchell Family Series, which includes ten books. With over forty published titles, there is a story for every interest. Her books can be found on most platforms and in paperback. She is married with two children and spends most of her time behind a keyboard, creating and writing stories straight from her heart.
A collection of the worst characters ever. The heroine is in grad school and has the moral compass of an alley cat. Sleeping with a married man is pretty much a no go even, or especially, when the man trips out the old cliche that they "can't" get a divorce. Later Cammie puts all the blame on him because he lied to her and used her. Um...no, he didn't.
She drives home and lies some more, gets angry because her parents aren't treating her like an adult. Girl, you just had an affair with a married man, got pregnant (you're in med school for Heaven's sake so Biology should be your thing), and, oh yeah, they just found you hooking up with a family friend about 5 minutes after you got home. Okay, a couple of days.
It's all good though as her new beau, a guy that's crushed on her forever, makes her feel better by telling her the story when he slept with a friend's mom, a still married mom, then ghosted the friend. It was the best sex he ever had so there is that. These two are made for each other.
I read this because while reading Joshua (populated with ethically challenged characters as well) I wanted the backstory on Cammie. I got it.
I really, REALLY, used to like this author's books. But the last 3 or 4 have been a "no go' for me. This one has cheating on it. It's not a spoiler. It's in the blurb. And of course the wife is defined as "vengeful ". Of course, there is always a reason for cheating right? And the heroine gets pregnant. Sadly, another author I won't even look for books anymore.
Cammie is an intelligent girl, studying hard to hopefully be a doctor one day, maybe the saying that the higher your IQ the lower your common sense is true, it seemed to be with this way with Cammie or maybe it's true that love is blind.
This is a story of seemed to read as two halves the first containing Cammies misfortune of falling for her professor, a forbidden love, his lies and deceit and poor lack of judgement on Cammies part had her falling into his bed, Cammie is deceived, groomed by her professor which leads to a relationship so wrong.
With the only option but to return home after a series of wrongs and mistakes she falls into the path of her brothers best friend Wes.
Wes has loved Cammie since he was a teen having grown up around the family home.
Both relationships in this story are very sudden and having already made one mistake you would think the girl would take it a little slower the next time around but no, although Wes is a very persistent guy who seems to know what he wants.
A good read containing angst, frustration, family dramas and one girls journey of love, the mistakes it can lead you to and the discovery of love that is true.

Cammie is the eighth book in the Mitchell/Healy Family Series. This series are the stories of the children of the Mitchell Family Series (which I enjoyed thoroughly.)
Cammie is the daughter of Conner and Amy Healy. Cammie has made a horrible mistake and her secret affair is exposed. The man she thought she loved has lied. Cammie returns home hoping to find solace and she needs her parents. She is so worried that she has destroyed her dreams of becoming a doctor. She has so many decisions to make and figure out how to get her life back on track. Then Wes walks back into her life, he offers her a lot more then she expected, but can she trust another man.
Love both of these series. Cammie I have rated 4 stars, well written as always. Jennifer Foor does not disappoint.
Boy, was the main character a hot mess in this one. I almost dnf'ed the book at the start. I hated the forbidden teacher/student relationship. I knew Cammie was being played, but she totally fell for the load of BS. For a smart girl she was so stupid. I thought going home was a good decision, but the drama ensued. I thought Cammie jumped into a new relationship too fast, I didn't buy that.
Ok, I'm going to admit something. Don't get crazy, but I've never read any of the Mitchell Family series books before. I know, I know, EVERYONE loves them. Unfortunately, I've never read one before, so Cammie was a brand new experience for me. I need to give a huge THANK YOU to Jennifer Foor for putting a totally detailed Mitchell/Healy family history at the beginning because it was super helpful.
With that being said, I really enjoyed Cammie. Yes I will read the following books in this series and I'll absolutely be digging into the Mitchell Family.
Cammie is the daughter of Conner and Amy Healy. She is one of four children, three girls and one boy. For all intents and purposes, she is the perfect child. Beautiful, brilliant, she has her whole life planned out for her.
Cammie's in her last semester of undergraduate school (Pre-Med) with a full academic scholarship. She's on her way to Stanford Medical School also on scholarship. That is until she has a class with one very sexy, very married Professor Jameson Willis. Cammie tries her hardest to stay away, but Professor Willis is a very persistent man and he wants Cammie. After a lot of sweet talk, (Jameson does say all the right things) he and Cammie embark on a steamy affair. You get the picture. He makes a young, naive Cammie a boatload of promises he never intends to keep.
After facing problems no 23 year old who's as smart as Cammie should have to face, she decides to travel across country back to her family for their support. Here's where it gets tricky. Mom and dad (especially dad) are devastated by what Cammie reveals to them. There's a ton of family drama and I truly felt sorry for Cammie.
Then there's the book boyfriend part. You didn't think it was Jameson Willis did you? No way. The book boyfriend comes in the shape of extremely handsome and perfect Wesley Parrish. Wesley happens to be the best friend of Cammie's brother. He has also had a crush on Cammie for as long as he can remember. His childhood nickname being Bucky, it's safe to assume that Cammie didn't return those feelings when they were younger.
Where Cammie traveled 3,000 miles from her North Carolina home to find herself, Wes stayed put and plans on taking over his family's business. When Cammie comes back and sees Wes, he feels it's finally his chance to get the girl of his dreams. Hmmmmmm...did I mention Cammie's younger sister already has a thing for Wes?
Book boyfriend wise, Wesley Parrish is perfection. He is beautiful. Dark wavy hair, light blue eyes surrounded by dark lashes and full lips. Not to mention an outstanding, fit body. His personality is equally stellar and damn if I didn't want him for myself.
Can Cammie get her life back on track? Have we heard the last from Professor Willis? Most importantly, will Cammie give Wes the chance he's been waiting for forever? I'm not telling! You have to one click Cammie and find out for yourself.
Again, I completely enjoyed this book and Jenn Foor's writing and yes I'd absolutely recommend reading it. I plan on reading the next installment of the Mitchell/Healy series and getting caught up on the books I've missed out on.
A four lip smack review for Jennifer Foor and Cammie. I'm definitely looking forward to what's coming up next!
Relationships between students and teachers are typically forbidden, even in cases where those students are, legally speaking, adults, presumably capable of making adult choices about who they might sleep with.
The reason for that lies, not in any out dated notions about teachers being older than their students, but rather its premised on the power imbalance that such relationships inherently have. The teacher holds the immediate fate of the student firmly in their hands, which gives them all sorts of opportunities to coerce and manipulate their students into situations they wouldn't normally choose for themselves if their grades didn't depend on it.
The really clever ones will even make it seem like its all the student's idea.
Cassie Healy, having spent years, thousands of miles away from home, diligently working towards her bachelor's degree, suddenly finds herself struggling. For the first time in her life, her best efforts are not enough, and its time for her sexy older teacher to step in and ... assist.
Author Jennifer Foor, has Cammie share with us, first hand, exactly how Professor James Willis goes about assisting her, from the first 'could you stay after class' right through to the final 'you need to get rid of it'.
Then, deviating from the formula of so many student/teacher romances, Cammie packs up and heads home, heartbroken, and searching for support from the people who have always been there for her, even though she suspects how disappointed they'll be with her choices and actions.
Its at that point that this story takes a few unexpected twists. Ones I certainly didn't see coming.
The latest in a long series of interrelated stand-alones Cammie is very much its own story and could easily be read as such, but nevertheless fits within the framework established by some twenty other related works that tell the stories of Cammie's extended family members.
I loved this book, following along with Cammie's story and wondering for much of it who might step into her life and be there for her when everything seemed to be slipping through her fingers. Particularly striking to me, above and beyond the two love stories that Cammie tells, one of which ended spectacularly badly, is the coming of age moment when as her parents come to realize that their little princess isn't all they hoped and believed she was, she too is forced to face that heartbreaking realization that they aren't everything she'd always believed and hoped they'd be either.
Really touching, tearjerking stuff, interspersed amongst the sweet and the sick, the romantic and the very very hot.
I want to start off by saying that the Mitchell-Healy series, along with the original Mitchell series books, is one of my favorite series. Going into this book I had high hopes, but it left me disappointed. I couldn't help but be like "is this for real right now?" in quite a few places. And I hoped for the sake of the book that she didn't end up with her d-bag professor...
Cammie has always been the smart girl who made all the right decisions and always had the dream of being a doctor. All that goes to crap when she fails a test she should have aced. Her professor offers to let her make it up, but that's not all he offers...
You would think with Cammie being so smart, she would have stayed away from her professor...but, no. She tried to resist him but that lasted maybe a couple weeks. This left me annoyed. The whole time I couldn't keep from thinking the guy was a total slime ball and wondering why she was going along with everything he wants.
Well, of course, everything between them goes to shit after awhile and...
So, I don't want to spoil this part of the book since it's not in the synopsis, but this part is what made me give it 3 stars. There were still some "is this for real?" moments but certain characters made it better. Much better. Though, Cammie annoyed me to no end with her constantly feeling like she deserved to live in misery the rest of her life and felt like she didn't deserve a good guy.
All in all, if you are struggling in the beginning, don't give up. The beginning may make you question whether or not to continue, but if you brave through, you will learn that things are better in the end.
I thought the ending was great and it wrapped things up nicely. Even though this book disappointed me, I am still looking forward to reading more books in this series. ~ Leah, 3 stars
If Cammie is suppose to be so smart and going to school to be a DOCTOR!!! I am not sure how she got herself knocked up. Well I do but.....grrr That being said Cammie was just ok for me. James was a jerk in the beginning but I felt a little bad for him in the end. Just a little. I adored Wes and glad true love won in the end. I assume Callie's book is next. I hope she is not as messed up as her sisters. The parents might want to ease up before all the kids run away messed up......just sayin'
Cheating is UNACCEPTABLE! It would have been a different story if she hadn't known he was married but she went into the relationship knowing and I don't agree with that. What is it with the girls of this family who jump right into bed with someone else after they find out the man they were with were assholes? To me Cammie was a whiney ass who got just what she deserved for allowing James to change the person she was raised to be. Wes should have steered clear of her and found someone who was truly worthy of him.
I was so ready for this book. I thought it would go in a different direction, but I loved the direction it went. Of course it wouldn't be complete without me being in tears! I loved reading the emotions Conner goes through, just shows that the Mitchell/Healy men are great dad's! If u haven't read any of the Mitchell/Healy series, I strongly recommend that u do! Up won't be disappointed!
Although I have found all the Mitchell/Healy clan interesting Cammie definitely topped the list!
Cammie had her whole life planned out! She would go to school, become a dr, then hopefully settle down with her own practice and family. But things don't always go the way you planned. What Cammie got instead was in a heap of trouble, pregnant by a married man who didn't love her. She fell for her professor, she thought after he divorced his wife they could have their happily ever after. Cammie instead got a one way ticket back to North Carolina with a bun in the oven and a chance of her dreams being taken away.
Wes had always had a thing for Cammie. She was his best friends sister and cousin to some of his best friends growing up, she was also a friend. He had hoped that one day she would see him for more than the nerdy acne faced kid and would fall in love with him. Well when you push hard enough you may eventually get what you want. He didn't care about her baggage and she was carrying someone else's baby, wes was determined to make her fall in love with him and raise their baby. Obstacles come and are battled but it only strengthens the friendship and then love the two have.
This was a great book and probably one of my top Healy couples! I couldn't put it down!
Well this one got a little crazy. Cammie had everything planned out. Her life was going good, as she was focused on her studies & becoming a doctor. What she didn’t expect was to fall for her college professor. They got to know each other & he introduced her to things she normally would’ve never done, sexually that is. She was young but he was married with two older kids and more importantly...experienced. It started where he would help her with her studies, then one thing led to another & Cammie fell for him hook, line & sinker. Things then took a big turn, sending Cammie back home to NC to get some help. She was afraid but knew it was the safest place for her. What Cammie experienced when she was home was what real love felt like. Not what she thought was love. I really enjoyed this one, even though some parts made me sad for Cammie.
Cammie is book 6 in the The Mitchell/Healy family series but can be read as a stand alone.
This series is one of our all time favorites. Jenn Foor knows how to write sexy rugged heartwarming men that will have you swooning and melting. This time she has created a knight in shining armour that out does the rest. His words will have you wishing you had a man like him.
Cassie has always been the quiet, good girl of the family. With a high IQ, good grades and on her way to becoming a doctor. She has always lived a straight laced life never causing her parents any grief, unlike her siblings she has been the ‘perfect child’. Taking on more classes than she can handle, she becomes overwhelmed and fails a midterm. When she is asked to report to her attractive professor an offer leaves her questioning her morals
"I won’t hurt you, Cammie. I’m scared too. I’m scared I might find something I’ve been missing my entire life.”
Trying to stay on the right path is becoming harder, Professor Willis is under her skin and her curiosity about him is becoming increasingly hard to say no too. Especially when he is saying all the right things! Cassie struggles with what to do but the fight between brain and heart was bulldozed when Professor Willis’ lips touched hers. With promises of a future together Cammie is surrounded by bliss, until their secret affair was revealed. The only thing she can do is go back home to her supportive family with a heavy load of secrets in tow.
Being back home, it makes her realize just how bad she has destroyed her life, but also knowing she is going to hurt her protective parents. One person makes it a little easier though. With her emotions in tatters all it takes is the help from someone she’s known for years. So when she see’s Wes for the first time she is shocked! No longer is he the boy he once was, Wes is all man.
Wes comes from money and is on the fast track to finishing college, he's ready to take over the family business in banking. His teenage crush on Cammie is solidified when he lays eyes on her again. All those years he has fantasized about her, he now has a chance to make them a reality. Can his dream of being with her finally become true?
"I'm standing right here, staring into the most beautiful green eyes I’ve ever seen, wanting to tell you what’s been on my mind for as long as I can remember.”
Cammie is floored when she learns Wes’ childhood crush that is still burning strong for her. Wes will stop at nothing to have her, what he wants he gets. If she doesn't reciprocate the same feelings as he and a friendship is all she can offer, he will deal with it.
"I don’t look at you as damaged or with baggage. You’re the same person I’ve always thought you were. You’re smart and talented. You’re kind and innocent. How you see yourself isn’t how you are.”
One kiss from Wes is all it takes for Cammie to want another taste. With his want for her revealed she combats the internal struggle of the mess her life is in and jumping into something too soon. Wes has a way with words but it's his actions that solidify her feelings for her.
"Where have you been my whole life?” “I’ve been here the whole time. You had to come back home to find me.”
Cammie has now found her knight in shinning amour, one part of her life is coming together, now she has the wrath and disappointment of her family to get through and her plans for her future, her schooling and her dream of becoming a doctor.
This book had such a strong male and female lead that we knew we'd love it instantly. Jenn has a way of making you fall in love with her male characters and Wes sure has one of our top male spots! While this was a different feel to what Jenn normally delivers, we still get to reconnect with several of the Mitchell/Healy’s that we love. We can't wait to see what happens in the next book of the series.
Bring me some more Mitchell/Healy family drama !! Is it wrong of me to enjoy these kids screwing up like their parents did ?? Well if it is I apologize because I love it !! We have known for years that J4 can write angst and steam and sometimes the things that come out of her characters mouths are just so real I have to think if she was in my head !! Especially during some of the sex scenes, OMG I laugh and think OK glad it isn't just me !! The one constant in these stories is that regardless of how bad the screw ups are they always find their way home and look for the help of their family. It isn't always a fast fix and sometimes there is even more drama like in Cammie's story BUT in the end you know someone amazing will step in and in the end there will be some kind of happiness until the next one tells their story !!
Cammie was the quiet nerdy girl , off at college to become a doctor. As a kid/teen she always studied and read and never really ventured out of her comfort zone. Now having an issue with a test she is forced to face her professor and figure out a way to fix her grade so she can finish her degree here and move onto Stanford in the fall. Of course this particular professor happens to be gorgeous and charming. Something he says spurs on thoughts and actions they both claimed to want to stay away from. Nothing good can come from student/teacher affair and poor Cammie learns the hard way. Licking her wounds and driving home to find the security of her family is scary but needed. Once home it seems things may get a bit harder before they get any easier. Connor and Amy are not happy with their daughter's actions and they only know half the story. Surprisingly they have no sympathy despite the situation they were in years ago. Understandably they want better and more for their daughter. So anyhow... in steps Wes, the brothers geeky friend who is now a full blown man and a hot one at that !! Doing anything he can to help Cammie becomes his goal and honestly he is such a great guy and I enjoyed getting to know him and read about their time together. He may be crazy for signing up for this but for him it may pay off in the end !! Love when the kid gets his chance with his childhood crush !! Will Cammie right her wrongs , salvage her education and get an amazing guy ?? It seems to good to be true but in Mitchell/Healy style you won't be let down !! Cammie is a lucky girl when it comes to the sex department. She may have a long road ahead but WOW she had some fun times with the professor and if that didn't get you hot and sweaty maybe Wes will !!
This was my first Jennifer Foor book and I don't think it will be my last. Although Cammie is part of the Mitchell/Healey series, but it can be read as a standalone. At the beginning we see Cammie being perused by her professor, who's married with grown up kids, both close to Cammie's age. He grooms and manipulates her into thinking he was in love with her and they had a future together, making all these promises that people who have affairs do. I felt a little uncomfortable with some of the stuff he was asking her to do, like standing in front of an open window naked for all to see. That alone should have had alarm bells screaming loudly in her head! I guess the thrill if getting caught made their Affair even hotter. I wanted to reach inside my kindle and shake some sense into her and squash him like the cockroach he is!! A huge curve ball was thrown, thus showing the true colours of Professor James Willis. Cammie then returns home to try to figure out what she was going to do, and hoping her family would help. She didn't get the welcome or help she was hoping for. personally, I thought her family were a little harsh on her. They seem to have put a hell of a lot of pressure on her shoulders to do well in school. In swoops Wes, her younger brother Josh's best friend. He offers her a shoulder to cry on. He's love her since he was 14 years old, he seems the perfect man for her to help deal with everything. Their banter was enjoyable too. I did feel that she rushed the relationship, it seemed to have gone from 0-60 in seconds! I wanted the tension to build some more, but that didn't make me love the book any less.
All in all this book was a good enjoyable read. It had family tension, angst, banter and most of all, although it was short, the journey to finding true love. I look forward to more from Wes and Cammie... Please say there will be more?
The latest Mitchell-Healy book, Cammie, from J4 has it all!! I would go from tears, to laughing out loud, to smoking hot, to livid between chapters. Another awesome story!!! And now a bit about the story...
Cammie's life is set up for her. Graduating soon and heading to Stanford on scholarship for Med school. What more could one need? Throw in a sneaky prof and a few lies and all heck breaks loose. The worst part is how fast her once awesome future is at risk...
Favorite passages: - Now I’ve come to understand love and lust are commonly misunderstood. I let my own desires blind me from the big picture. - “How bad? Like, Cassie bad, or your idea of mischief?” - “Girl, he’s been back for a couple weeks. When he stepped in the door the first time my vagina exploded.” - “No. My dad would expect me to do that. He’s probably waiting in my room cleaning his shotgun to freak me out.” - Snot flew out of my nose as I continued to laugh uncontrollably. - “I’d still want you if you had six kids with five different fathers. I might wear four rubbers at a time, but I’d still want you.” - “I’ll be home by lunch. Maybe, if it’s not too much to ask, you could be naked and waiting for me on the kitchen counter. I’m usually starving when I arrive home.” - “It’s why I’m always prepared. I never know when Cammie Healy is going to take her pants off for me.”
Yet another 5 star read from Jennifer Foor. Ive loved every book in the Mitchell & Healy series and this one is no different.
Cammie is working her way through school to become a doctor. Shes always been a good girl getting good grades, making the right decision, having her life planned out until she makes the mistake of falling for her professor. She believed all his lies then finds herself pregnant. After realizing everythign hes said to her was a lie she runs back home to her family ranch.
Wes... hes been in love with Cammie since he was 13. Having her back home only hightens those feelings he has. Hes not one to sugar coat what he says, When he wants something he goes for it. And he wants Cammie, child and all, but will she want him back?
This story had me on edge of my seat at times. Wes is the kind of guy any girl would dream of having. I kept rooting for him all the way through and yelling at Cammie to get her act together and realize that Wes was the real deal. This book has some drama, angst, some hot and sexy scenes that will make you all hot and bothered. But it was also about the struggles of someone who had their life planned out and by one mistake it can all be ripped away... Or can it? Will Cammie be able to get her life on track and still become a doctor?
This is an absolute must read along with all of the other books in this series.
Happily received an advanced copy for an honest review.
This was the first book that I have read by Jennifer Foor, and I must say that I enjoyed it. Cammie Healy has always done the right thing. She's very focused on her grades, aS she's studying to become a doctor, but she doesn't have a lot of experience with men because she's never really bothered with them. When one of her married college professors takes advantage of her, convincing her that he can't be without her, she gives in. What follows is her life suddenly spinning out of control when she finds herself pregnant, and his wife is threatening to revoking her credits. She goes home to regroup and finds that her family isn't too happy with her either. Cammie feels all alone, until she runs into a childhood friend who decides to help her out. Will Cammie be able to get her life back on track without losing everything?
This is a great story. The character development is great, with a ton of awesome secondaries. An emotional, taboo, and well written story line flows smoothly. Well placed humor had me laughing my behind off. Jennifer Foor does a great job captivating me from the very beginning, while keeping my heart racing cover to cover. I felt Cammie's emotions like they were my own, and I read the story in one sitting. My only issue is that the ending seemed rushed after all that had happened. Overall, I will be reading more of this author in the future, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This is the first book I have read from this series and I was surprisingly hooked by the story as it progressed. When it first started out the student/teacher relationship was not one that had me hooked. It was the aftermath of her consequences that had me having a hard time putting this book down.
Cammie Healy has always been the good girl who could do nothing wrong until that one professor changes her life. After being caught and threaten by her school she goes to the one place to figure things out…HOME.
The feelings and stresses a person gets when they find out they find out about an unplanned pregnancy is definitely not easy. Even harder if the father of the baby is not on board and wants nothing to do with it. Of course that leads to so many constant questions getting thrown out on how this will affect their life in the long run. For Cammie she is determined to work out her situation and prove to herself and family that she can do whatever it takes to still live her dreams regardless of the regrets on the choices she has made.
This 4.5 stars read will have you testing your emotions with trust being a huge factor. The challenges she faces when everything is revealed to her family is one that will have you overwhelmed causing your head to spin in and hoping for some positive outcome.
After 20% in, I skimmed until the end hoping for something to catch my interest and renew my interest in this series. It didn't happen. For being so smart, Cammie sure is stupid. She gets suckered in by the unhappily-married professor, gets pregnant, and then runs home to the boy next door, magically falls in love, and gets her revenge against the teacher with the wife's help. Oh and did I forget to mention that the "boy next door" that she suddenly realizes she loves was somehow involved with one of her sisters? (I admit I skimmed so I'm not sure of the nature of his relationship with the sister, but it was there.) These kids seem to repeatedly make the same mistakes as their parents. Whether it be cheating, getting pregnant and someone else raising the child as theirs, the storylines have become recycled and I've reached my limit. The only book of the spinoff series I have truly enjoyed was Christian. I didn't really care for Amy and Connor in the original series, so it doesn't surprise me that I've decided to let it go with their kids, even though I probably should have let it go way before now.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Jenn Foor has knocked it out of the park again! I have loved this series since the very beginning and this one made me fall even more in love with the Mitchell/Healy family. Cammie Healy has always been the perfect dependable daughter and sister. With no time for men in her life, she has always done the right thing. That is until she made the mistake of trusting her professor. Now in trouble she goes home to get support from her family. But instead finds the support she needs in Wesley Parrish, her brothers best friend. Wes made me swoon with every page, and I fell completely in love with him. I am so glad there are more kids in this family. Kids that I'm sure will be just as good at getting into trouble as their parents, and I can't wait!
I really enjoyed this book. It's probably the best book of the series since the early Mitchell Family books. I'd say it's definitely the best of all the books about the younger generation of Mitchell-Healys. Initially, I thought Cammie was a bit of a doormat but then I came to see that her actions can firmly be attributed to her youth and inexperience. Although she's a little too weepy, it's justifiable in her situation. Wes, I really liked. He's a good, stand up guy and he's a lot like Tyler. He's got a great sense humor and is totally devoted to Cammie when no one else seems to be. All in all, I am recommending this book to fans of the original Mitchell Family books. I think you'll really enjoy it.
This title is part of a series, but can be read as a stand alone. I haven't read all the others book in the Mitchell-Healy Series by Jennifer Foor but You won’t be disappointed with this one! This a story that for me divides the plot in two parts; the first one a mistakes, steamy and improper love with lies, secrets and cheating; the second part with family drama, indignation, embarrassment and a second chance in life at a pure romance and a great future. I loved the chemistry between Wes and Cammie! But NO SPOILERS HERE, GO READ THIS AWESOME STORY!!!!!Can't wait for more, maybe Callie next or Josh!!!!!!
Wonderful book. I love everything I have read by Jennifer Foor. Cammie gets in to a relationship with remarried professor. He is a creepy older man that has adult children and a wife. He convinces Cammie that he is in a loveless marriage and that he wants to be with her. She is very attracted to him and gives in. She becomes pregnant and her whole life is changed forever. She goes home for family support. Her dad tells her how disappointed he is in her. The family support she was looking for is not there. What to do now. She finds support in the most unusual place. Will she ever be able to make her family proud?
Cammie is the sensible and studious Healy, eyes firmly set on becoming a doctor when she is groomed by her attractive professor for an affair. Of course it all ended in tears, her life in tatters and she flees back to her parents, our old favourites Connor and Amy. Only they aren't very supportive of the daughter that was supposed to do no wrong. Enter Wes, her brothers old friend all grown up - and just as in love with Cammie as he was at 14! I thought their story was beautiful, Wes was a true knight in shining armour and loved Cammie exactly as she was. Thoroughly enjoying this series!
The Mitchell/Healy clan keeps on giving. Cammie's seemingly straight laced life is about to take a massive hit in the craziest way making her return home for support not expecting to find love at the worst time in her life, with the most unexpected man. Her brothers best friend Wes has loved Cammie since he was a teen, now she's back he's not letting her go and he supports her 100%. As always angst filled but sweet
I absolutely love anything Jennifer Foor writes. I'm always afraid that it will be the same theme different names like I've had happen in other series but nope never with her. So Cammie was amazing I keep saying with each book I have a new favorite character but seriously Cammie is amazing. Faced with odds many would of broken or crumbled under she managed to still chaSE HER dream find her soulmate and get her HEA
Cammie was supposed to be the good girl! The drama free doctor in the making. But of course it wouldn't be that simple in a Jennifer foor book! With a taboo scandal as well as a childhood friends to lovers double trope extravaganza, this book has you hooked. What really disappoints me is Conner. That's two of his daughters now that he has treated appallingly, it's made me really dislike him. Aside from that I loved this book!
Good storyline, interesting characters. I did enjoy this story, I just felt the second half was a little rushed. I don't want to give away any spoilers so I can't really go into too much detail. But the connection I was after in the second half, it just didn't feel real enough for me. Besides that the story is full of hot sex, drama and love. A great mixture for a good story.
