Serial Killers and Psychopaths

Rate this book
To kill is one of the greatest crimes against humanity―to kill repeatedly, often accompanied by sexually motivated acts that are also taboo, is beyond comprehension. Why do serial killers and psychopaths do it? What motivates them? Wildly deviant behaviour can sometimes be understood when displayed by a lone madman, but what about the killers who are judged normal, or the ones who act in despicable agreement with another? This book addresses such questions in a compelling examination of many true-life cases featuring the world’s most notorious killers.

I give this book a five star rating because it is hands down the most fascinating book I have read. I have a genuine obsession with these kinds of things, so this book made me feel like a kid in a candy shop. I would definitely  recommend this book to those who are interested in things like this - the stories of the crimes committed by some of the world’s most notorious killers ever. Having said that, this book is NOT for the faint hearted; there are many detailed accounts of the horrors carried out by the aforementioned killers that may make you… quite faint to say the least.

Not quite the book I expected. Although it covered a great variety of serial killers and psychopaths, the detail into each was a bit sparse. I would have liked the authors to review fewer persons and delve more deeply into the worst characters of the book. Either that or make it a two book series with increased details. Either method would do more justice to the reader by offering better and more complete data.

I thought this book was very intriguing to learn about all these people did and why. Some of these things I never knew happened. They were short and to the point just breaking the surface of the people

While I enjoy this genre, the writing leaves a lot to be desired. Grammar and spelling errors are pretty abundant...

This was an interesting read with lots of cases in it. However they were very short with a small amount of detail. I also found many grammar and spelling issues making it hard to read.

Yeah this was okay. Of course it all just gets a bit samey after a while but thats the nature of it when its non-fiction. Written really well though and kept me interested - and I learned a LOT.

not very much information or grisly detail for each killer, BUT there are lots of people covered. fun plane read, definitely a good intro to true crime!

Interesting short telling of these serial killers life and crimes broken into categories based on murder. It lost a star bc almost every killer’s story started with “the most prolific killer of ..”

Although the content was interesting, the grammatical and textual errors riddled throughout the book deterred from the story. I found myself distracted by missing letters and misspelled words. Photographs pertaining to the stories could have been much better; there is no need to repetitively include photos of electric chairs. Bolded statements on each story's page have no significance. The concept is there, but the content could have been much better. Disappointed by the sloppiness, disorganization, and poor editing by the editor/publisher.
