Your past is a mystery. So is the present, for that matter. But a memory is haunting you -- a story of horror, blood, and death, where ghosts haunt you at every turn. Hell, you may even be one of them.
Where are you? You're in Limbo.
In this short piece of paranormal flash fiction, see how one misdeed can stay with you forever. The terror is free.
I don't remember anything except being here. There is no before – only now.
These woods are familiar. Maybe I've been here as a boy. That notion feels right, but this place sure doesn't. The sky was never so white, the trees never the hasty smudges they are now. Clouds erase their tops, miles above my head. Snowflakes dust the air.
Would have benefited from being longer but not a bad story overall
This is a 9 page short story. Seemed like 4 pages on my kindle. I thought it was okay. Not very telling as short stories go. One thing I find frustrating with short stories is you only get a glimpse of what the story is and it always seems to start off in the middle. Giving this story 2.5 stars. It wasn't awful, but I definitely NEEDED more.
We have a man in limbo like the title suggests. He sort of remembers that he had a name and he kind of remembers the people around him. However he is stuck in a loop of the same moment until he changes his actions. That is what I got from the story anyway.
That's it. I assume he is forced to live the same moment over and over until he fixes it.
The whole concept has been done and the writing style took me out of the story more often than than drew me in. I try not to be harsh but sometimes a story just doesn't hit. Maybe it will for you but for me it had too many things against it.
A short little ghost story that was actually quite good. I don't know if I can really say I love flash fiction because I'm greedy and always want more but as far as that category goes, this was a good little piece.
Was quick, almost too quick, but I enjoyed it. Well put together. Has a very fluid, poetic beat to it. Very interested to check out more by the author.
Excellent flash fiction, IMO. There was enough story to make me think about the significance of everything that happens , especially about how decisions in life will affect us even after life.
Technically, this is well written and is without any superfluous decoration. It is taut and terse, and the author knows how to paint pictures with the fewest words necessary. All that being said, without the title I would have had no idea what was going on--another example of the story's terse style. However, for me, it lacked some substance and did not quite have the Saki-like impact that I think she was going for.
This very short telling gives an intricate and chilling thought of questioning your past as if it is real or not, or if there's more to it than what we perceive human emotions.
While it was a little creepy, I really liked this short story. I feel like this could've made an amazing book if it wasn't limited to nine pages. But I still recommend this to everyone who is in the mood for something creepy and short.
Interesting, but a little weird. A person finds money in the woods and a dying man. He initially can't decide what to do... Take the money and leave the dying man or try to save his life....
It might have been interesting.... If I had Any freaking clue what was happening. It was to confusing for me to understand, never mind enjoy what I read. :/
