For first time flight attendant Brittany Powers, crashing in the Amazon is less than ideal. She can barely take care of herself as it is. Shaken and scared, Brittany stumbles upon one other survivor, Cooper Owens, the jerk in seat 4A, a marine turned air marshal who likes to bark orders. Together they have to learn to endure what is lurking within the rainforest. They must put aside their differences to make it out of the jungle alive. A relationship built on survival slowly blossoms into a love that both Brittany and Cooper can't deny. But, will the Amazon's brutal environment drive a wedge between their new found love or will the hidden beauty make them rethink what is important in life?

Summary: Shortly after Brittany gets her first job as a flight attendant her world is flipped upside down. Her very first flight crashes in the amazon, only her and the prick of a passenger, Cooper survive. They may have survived the crash but they are now stranded in the middle of the Amazon Rainforest, can they make it out alive?
Dislikes: I don't necessarily have any dislikes but I felt like it took me longer to get to know the characters of this book. I didn't fall in love with Cooper the way I have with other of Thornton's characters.
Likes: I love that we can see and feel the emotions of the characters. The plot was interesting and there were a couple twists I definitely didn't see coming. And at the end, I had my heart ripped out. I need more! haha
Overall: I really appreciate the direction this story is going. I can't even begin to wonder what twist will happen next. The love and romance are perfectly balanced with a good plot. Can't wait to read the next installment. <3
In the beginning, 'Lost' resembles the TV show with the same name—a plane crashes in the middle of nowhere and most of the occupants lose their lives. The survivors are lost, yes, and yet the word 'lost' holds a double entendre as readers will discover at the end.
It is essentially a love story, and the author's depiction of the progression of the process of the two primary characters falling in love and eventually realizing they can't live without each other can only be described as masterful. The love-making scenes are graphic yet tastefully written, leaving the reader in no doubt that the couple love one another deeply.
If you love romance and enjoy a fast-paced book that moves forward with each page-turn, you must not miss this story. The cliff-hanger at the end clearly shows that a sequel is in the works, and will leave you hungering for more.
Sooo...I don't think it was a good idea for me to read this book a month before I have to be on an airplane. That being said I really enjoyed this book. There were times that I wanted to pull my hair out or more likely their hair- my hair is too important to me to pull out. There were times I squealed with joy and times that I was shocked beyond belief. All in all this was a great book that made me feel just about every emotion there was to feel.
Brittany is both excited and nervous to start her new job as a flight attendant. That is until she has to tend to the annoying passenger that pushes his call button a million times. Then the unthinkable happens, the plane crashes somewhere in the Amazon and the only survivors are Brittany and Cooper- the annoying passenger. Now they have to survive together and try to make it back to civilization. Will they be able to survive the dangerous terrain, dangerous animals and dangerous people that live in the rain forest all without killing each other?
This is one of the fastest paced books that I have ever read. The plane crashes within the first few pages, something I didn't expect to happen until a little later in the book. So the rest of the book was like a clothed version of that Naked and Afraid show with some more intimate moments. Since the book was so fast it took me a little while to get connected with the characters but once I did I was fully invested in them. Which is why the ending broke my heart into a million little pieces.
Cooper was a little difficult to like at first. He just seemed like such a dick for the longest time making it even more difficult for me to make that connection with him. Brittany was fairly easy for me to like because her character was totally believable at first. I would have been just like her if I had to bury all the passengers on the plane. I also would have been just as happy to have found shampoo and conditioner. I absolutely loved them together though, as much of an ass as he was at first and as whiny as she was they were an amazing couple.
Even though it made me feel a little uneasy to fly in a plane it was a great read. I am such a fan of D.M. Thornton's and look forward to reading more of her work.
This book is AWESOME! I love the realistic quality of the writing. I liked Cooper when he was the jerk in 4A, believe it or not. As the book progresses and both he and Brittany grow so much, I love him even more. He has survival skills that they would not have survived past living through the plane crash without. The camp portion of the story really tugs at the heartstrings, especially returning from the waterfall picnic. I enjoyed how she went from an entitled and useless trust fund brat to a real asset to him. I loved when he called her "hummingbird" and referred to her as his North Star. I think I melted a little more each time I read it. The cliffhanger ending about kills me, but I knew it was coming so I was kinda prepared. I am quite anxious to read the next part, though, so it best be soon!
Brittany first day at her new job as an flight attendant becomes a day she will never forget. The plane crashing in the Arizona rainforests and she and the jerk Cooper in seat 4a is the only survivors. The struggle to survive and thank God that Cooper is an ex marine. The starts to develop feelings for one another but Brittany has a boyfriend back home. Can the make it out alive and will the love between them win.
I absolutely loved this book couldn't put it down. A great love story and a lot of action, fear and hurt.
Brittany is so excited to be taking her first flight as a flight attendant little did she know that it could also be her last . First she has to deal with the passenger from hell who wouldn't stop pressing the call button and then the plane crashes into the jungle and guess who the only other survivor is yep Cooper the passenger from hell. Will these two be able to survive not only the jungle and its inhabitants both animal and human without killing one another . Now this air marshal and flight attendant will have to work together to survive and on the way they may start to fall in love

This author, D.M. Thornton, is new to me but I was so impressed with her storyline and writing style that I will be reading more of her books in future. This is all about two survivors in a plane crash over the Amazon. One feisty female and one ex-Marine/air marshal who like to issue the orders so these two are bound to clash! And it's very enjoyable to read about them clashing until more emotions come into play and then it gets hot and steamy! A great, well thought out read with interesting and 3-dimensional characters that kept me from putting the book down. This is the first book by this Author that I have read I found it to be a well-written story that I enjoyed from the beginning to the end. I will be looking for more books by her. The story is about the hardships first-time flight attendant Brittany Powers and Cooper Owens, the only two survivors of an airplane crash and how they finally make it to safety after months of living off the land. There is danger, suspense, drama, and villains. Looking forward to reading the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I did enjoy the book but I had a love hate relationship with Brittany. I did like that she had some spunk but most of the time she was just too stupid to live. She was just childish and immature one minute and the next she was a totally different person that gave Cooper attitude. It just didn’t last long and then she was back to being stupid. Then the ending! Didn’t not like that at all.
It was her first job and the plans crashed in the jungle. No-one else is alive or so she thought. There is one more alive and it just had to be the jerk. He barks orders at her and she hates it. They have to work together to survive so they begin to soften against each other. Can they survive the jungle? Will love blossom? See what will happen
I was not so crazy about this story. It seemed unbelievable and repetitive. It was interesting and intriguing with some suspense and romance but ended with a cliffhanger. I liked Cooper but not so much Brittany. She was immature and painful to deal with.
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.*
I was immediately intrigued with the storyline. The premise was pretty good. The characters were interesting - she was spunky but clueless sometimes and he was a major jerk, but also a survivor. I liked the story. The author created a believable setting and the descriptive words set the scene exceedingly well.
It's so well written and exciting, I loved every moment of it. The way the story was told, it was fantastic! The ending was great too! Although not everyone would agree to it, I loved how the characters was so natural and true to themselves that the ending didn't feel awkward or off at all.
This is a quick and easy read. The storyline is well-crafted, intriguing, suspenseful, has drama and steam. The characters are defined, and likable with sizzling chemistry. I liked it.

"Lost" is your stereotypical romance novel. It's the story of Brittany and Cooper, who are on a flight together (she is a flight attendant and he is a first class passenger giving her a hard time) when the flight crashes in the Amazon. They are the only two survivors- she does not have any injuries and his are minor. Begin begrudging partnership that leads to romance. I found myself rolling my eyes as they seemed to fall into the pattern of: 1. Brittany does something stupid; 2. Cooper saves her (with the additional option of getting himself hurt); and 3. She promises to be better. Cooper is, of course, a former Marine and survivalist, while Brittany is a hapless young woman.
Despite these stereotypes, I liked their relationship and was really cheering for them in the end. Thus, not happy with the ending and really hope this will be resolved in a sequel?

4/5 stars.
I did like this book, the writing was realistic and there were a few unexpected twists which were great! The only 'dislike' was that I wasn't fond of Cooper, and it took me a while to get invested in the characters. But otherwise the romance was fab, and didn't overpower the plot.
Warning, it ends on a massive cliffhanger. Looking forward to reading book 2!
Action packed right from the start! Fantastic read, faced paced and well written. Most of the story takes place in the Amazon and I felt like I was walking in the jungle with the characters. Great description through out the book. Brittany and Cooper were believable in the way they interacted with each other and dealt with the drama that unfolded around them. I recommend this book to other readers that enjoy a good, detailed story with of course; a little love.
I LOVED Brittany and Coopers story. In fact, I want my own Cooper! Brittany is on her first trip as a flight attendant, and it turned into a nightmare when the plane crashes.... When the nightmare seems like it cant get any worse, the only other survivor is the jerk of an air marshal, Cooper. As the two butte heads and figure out how to survive, respect and passion start to take root. Will they find something unexpected to take home with them? Or will their lives back home prevent them from finding each other?
