The dancing dinos are back, and this time they are taking over the classroom in this fun, rhyming Step 1 reader that is perfect for back to school!
Dinos dancing in a book. Dinos leaping, look, look, look! Dinos pasting red and blue. Dinos wasting paint and glue!
When the dancing dino's book turns up in a school library, they leap out and bring their musical mayhem to a kid’s classroom!
Step 1 Readers feature big type and easy words for children who know the alphabet and are eager to begin reading. Rhyme and rhythmic text paired picture clues help children decode the story.
Miss 3 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors. This was a random pick but it didn't interest her very much.
Neon green dionsaurs who dance? Okay they're not necessarily what you expect to find in a classroom. Not when you're a big second grader. But here they are. Prepare for zany!
These dinos dance. And their allure extends so far as to make words rhyme. Here's a sample of the text:
Dinos landing on the floor.
Dinos dancing more and more.
You just might find their antic glee is contagious. I did.
Cookies, chalkboards, and a sandbox are all hallmarks of this imaginary school that a small group of dancing dinosaurs enjoy after jumping from the pages of a library book. The premise is appealing, but the phrasing a bit clumsy and the images dated. My second grader wasn't engaged.
it was a great little read for my beginner reader, there were some words he had trouble with but nothing to crazy. I would recommend this because its cute and kids love dino's.
My three year old loved this book! He is on a Dino kick right now so he actually wanted to “give it 100 stars!” He was helping me read it by finishing the rhymes!
Dinosaurs dance up all sorts of chaos and common toon when they come out of a library book and into the school building. An early reader. Rhyming was a little much at some points.
This is a very fun book. I think that the lower grades would love the Dancing Dino books. The words are large so the students can see and practice. They are also repetitive to make it easier to learn to read this book. I would use this with my lower level readers because I think it is something that they would want to read. I would also use it to read to the entire class because it is funny and can prompt some great discussion.
This was a very cute level 1 reader. Describing action words like reading, writing, leaping, wiggling...
Story starts with school librarian and a book in the library, she has it opened to a page with dinosaurs in it. They jump out of the book and start doing all sort of various school things within the library, classroom and playground. At the end of the story they jump back in the book again. Really cute idea for a child's story.
So silly! A little boy is reading a book about dancing dinos when the dinos suddenly decide to dance right off the page and romp around the hourse wrecking havoc and potentially getting the boy in a whole lot of trouble. The dinos eventually find their way back to their book and all the entire episode ends happily ever after.
This would make a great book for a child who loves dinosaurs. There is both rhyming and repeating throughout this easy reader to make it use for new readers to read. The pictures and the style of the book is fun and exciting as well.
