You know. I loved these books right up until the end. I have a few issues but one stands out so much in my mind I can't fall asleep because I'm still so angry it's irrational I know but the way the author handled the situation ruined it for me.
*******SPOILER ALERT*******
When lorelei first starts seducing both binder and the other guy in the room by saying she could take both of them at once I didn't think much of it, I figured she would lure them into complacency by kissing the both of them, putting them to sleep and maybe stealing the handcuff keys or something, just a quick thought though and then that changed and she had only binder in the room with no keys or anything whatsoever to stop her from knocking him out to making him do something like open the door and letting her go free and making him forget. But no. She just goes on to thoroughly enjoy screwing him considering the prick was one of the guys who arrested the "only man she needs" and "the love of her life" etc... The thing is I won't begrudge her banging the guy if not for the fact that Alex has gone though so much bloody pain from either having his wife/love cheating or betraying Trust all throughout his many reincarnations. Never mind the fact that he told her he couldnt handle that. The stupid bitch admits to him openly how she could have found other solutions but instead chose to screw him because he was attractive and she just fucking had to. The author appeared to not give a flying fuck about the damage this might cause and blatantly made Alex not seem to really care???? Are you kidding me?? He also seems to accept the fact that Rachel watched the whole thing and didn't once stop and think what that might do to him? My opinion of her dropped completely, I didn't really care about the kiss on drew even if that was a surprise, I mean she feels everything that lorelei feels and all she knows is that she has to watch her Fuck another man because it feels good. What complete and total Bullshit. She - the haloed fucking angel who knows more than most about how bad Alex's past lives were couldn't seem to care how all Alex does is to help and make sure no one's feelings are hurt doesn't even second guess how much pain that would cause him realistically? Are you joking???? Miss bad ass who broke so many rules and is the dominion fucking leader over all seattle angels couldn't interfere to brake lorelei's handcuffs? How in God's name is that interfering in the mortal world? Last I checked lorelei is a fucking demon? Let's not forget her "bond" to Alex to not let him come to harm. Oh no. Not the angel who can fly miles in seconds, turn invisible and walk through walls? She wouldn't leave lorelei even after butt Fuck Donald leaves? She couldn't flit between both Alex and lorelei to keep them updated? I'm so damn angry I had to vent this. Only time I felt worse was with ps powers builder series. Jesus I'm not a prude but when you break Trust like that it's done for me. Completely.

I enjoyed every minute of both these books until this part.

Yet another book for weak-willed cucks.
As a person who likes to immerse himself in the skin the protagonist(s), reading books like these where the MC is a spineless cuckholded looser drives me absolutely fucking insane (that doesn't even begin to describe it). It has been more than a year since I read this filth the author calls a book and even know, the mere thought of this piece of trash makes me thoroughly mad for the rest of the day.
How can one enjoy reading such mind destroying, skin rippingly rage-inducing shit completely eludes me. Author must be a fucking cuck. Honestly, quit writing, for the love of god. Or at least put a NTR/CUCK tag so that us sane people can avoid beeing dirtied by such nonsense. Thank you.

This is a good book, I liked it. I read the first as it was released on Literotica, and absolutely loved it. I like the story, I like the author's style, and I liked the characters.
Standing on its own, I think this is a very good book. However, I don't feel it's a good sequel to 'Good Intentions.'
In the time between the first and second books, which only seems to have been about a month, a whole lot got retconned. Things changed pretty drastically from how they were resolved in the previous book.
One of the major characters from 'Good Intentions' was just completely missing. She played a large role, and was revealed to be not only a friend of the main character but also of his entire circle of friends. Those other friends were here, too, but not her. Not even a cameo at the big birthday for two of them. The reason for her absence was totally implausible considering where she was at and what she was doing in the last book.
The protagonist's mother was also written out of the story. As where the various love interests for the other guys. At the end of 'Good Intentions' they had all hooked up to some degree. At least one of which seemed like it could get serious. Yet now just a month later and they're all single again, and the circumstances were only explained for one of them.
I could go on, but I'll just say there's a lot of incontinuity between the two books.
If that's the sort of thing that bothers you, and you read book one, I'd be wary of this "sequel." If you don't mind, or are just starting out on the series, then you'll probably like this book.

Most of this was as good as book 1, but there was one thing that really bothered me (NTR, -1 star). If it becomes a big part in the next book I will likely drop the series here. If it goes away and does not come back, I will be thrilled.

It felt like that the volume 2 is made by a completely different author. It is so much different from volume 1. Okay, first thing first, the part that me want to bang my head against the wall is the scene where Lorelei sleeps with a guy who is complete scumbag and handcuffed the only person she loves and the only person she needs. She thoroughly enjoys banging him and the guy even gives her his card, so that he can have sex with her again if he is ever back in town. Why it bothers me so much? The protagonist has gone through so many betrayal and cheating and pain in all of his reincarnation and this is one thing that he won't tolerate which is betrayal, but he treats Lorelie cheating as nothing and shrugs it off like nothing happened, WHAT THE HELL? It is just not that even the Angel betrays him because she knows about his past and everything and still hides all things from him. A good chunk of first half of the novels spends on MC's feelings, his heart and pain and suddenly, it felt like no kind of emotions exists in the 2nd half.
-I have never felt so much regret before reading this kind of novel. I am feel nauseated, you know that weird feeling in stomach that gives you trouble breathing, i am feeling like that after reading this. I don't get it why the hell author would put such a scene? The worst is that the whole story treats it like nothing happened. This is perfect example of how to ruin a great character and story with just a single scene. I am even more afraid to read future volumes because of scenes like, i know it is hypocrite of me to complain about that in a novel like this with harem and polygamy, but i wouldn't mind if it was doing it behind his back and i am not into cuckry and NTR. I hate such genre to every fiber of being, i really should have read the reviews for volume 2 before getting into this story. I don't get it why it has such high ratings? Do this many like betrayal and cheating from your partner? I only 1-2 reviewer complaining about it.

“Natural Consequences (Good Intentions, #2)” continues the story of human Alex, demon succubus Lorelei and angel Rachel, along with many MANY other characters. Witches Onyx and Molly in particular get enhanced roles in this book, and the two lovers finally bring Alex into their bed, after much talking and planning.
Book #1, “Good Intentions” was fantastic. It created an amazing world that questioned the nature of good and evil, while entertaining us with LOTS of sex (f/f, m/f and m/f/f). In Book #2, we still have an entertaining world of supernatural beings and humans, all of whom enjoy sex, but the focus is much more on humans (the FBI) battling the supernatural world. There are still vampires, werewolves, angels and witches….but the story and the characters feel much more of a continuation of the creativity of Book #1 rather than an expansion of creativity.
Alex’s numerous flashbacks into his past lives got tiresome after awhile. Jason’s human friends have smaller roles than in Book #1, Lorelei hints toward wanting men other than Alex (ok, does more than hint!) and Rachel is fun in every scene she’s in!
Tess Irondale continues delivering a fantastic narration. I rate the book as 3.8*, rounded to 4* - recommended to those who like the supernatural genre more than a story focused on lesfic romance or eroticism.

This is the second book of this type I have read and it was great.
Lets get into the one real thing i had a problem with here:
Total lack of Taylor with no mention of what happened to her.
Taylor was an important character in the first book and a potential love interest for the main character and she makes zero appearances in Natural Consequences. The author couldnt even be bothered to explain why she didnt appear in this book.
But besides that all was cool. Oh yeah this series was pretty funny and had a good amount of modern slang and phrases which was awesome

Wow this is such a good series. The action is intense, the characters fantastic, and the sex smoking hot. The FBI special task force on supernatural activities is trying to figure out why Seattle's vampires have suddenly vanished. Everything gets wrapped up in the end but I hope there is another book. Maybe with the witches working with the FBI and the rest of the gang can help them. Great series. Highly recommended as long as you aren't offended by plenty of consensual group sex.

This was another fun instalment in this UF erotica series. This is pure male wish-fulfilment and packed with roll your eyes nonsense but despite that Elliot Kay has an incredibly engaging writing style and the characters are easy to root for so it is very easy to get sucked into the story.
For the backdrop of an erotica story it is impressive that Kay’s fantasy world is better crafted and more interesting than most straight up UF books I’ve read over the years.
I enjoyed this quite a lot despite my eyes doing a fair bit of rolling at the nonsense we have to put it with as Kay tries just a bit too hard to try to justify all the sexcapades!
Best thing I can say in this books favour is that the 22 hour audiobook flew by and I’ve not said that about too many other books I’ve read over 2021! It is very engaging despite its clear flaws.

I feel I owe an apology for my review for the 1st book in the series. I had not read many books with much sex in them up until that book and I feel now I was overly critical of it. I just re-read my review and I feel I was criticizing the genre more than the book. I now see that is like complaining that Woody Woodpecker is too cartoony or reading a drama and complaining about it not being funny! This is a story about a succubus (and an Angel); complaining about the sexual situations being unrealistic is just as foolish. This is a fantasy book about an Angel and a succubus being bound to a mortal; I should judge the story for how well the story was told, how interesting it is, the characters and how it made me feel. With that it mind, I felt this was a very good book. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator elicited a lot of emotion from me. Despite there being a lot of sex in these stories, I also felt there was a lot of heart involved. There was love, respect, desire, lust but there wasn't pettiness of jealousy.
I liked the twist on the main character remembering past lives and how that both helped him (by allowing him to know past skills like sword fighting and war) and hurt him (sometimes those memories were overwhelming and came about at inopportune times). I like how Alex always tries to do the right thing, he fights for his friends and his loves and won't let anyone or anything get between him and the people he cares about. His friends are exactly the same way. They each have different personalities and they riff off each other pretty well, but no matter what, they have each others back.
Overall, this is a very enjoyable book, and I can't wait to read the next one. Just make sure you don't read or listen to this book at work - that could be awkward.

First things first, I loved the 1st book in the series. It was hot, the characters were solid enough for an erotic fantasy and I liked the whole mythology. Plus it was hot ;)
But then came the 2nd book and ruined the rest of the experience for me. Or should I say, a single scene in the whole book ruined it for me. I am of course talking about the scene where Lorelai has sex with a different guy than Alex. There are so many things wrong with this situation.
First off, Alex literally tells her before that he doesn't want her to have sex with different men. Secondly (and this is the major point), the first half of the book focuses on Alex dealing with his past(s), mainly on the many times he got betrayed and cheated on.
And what does Lorelai do? The woman who told him countless times that she doesn't need anyone else? That she loves him with all of her demon heart? She fucks a guy that imprisoned Alex, just because she feels like it. And she later even tells Alex that she could have dealt with the situation differently, but she didn't because she wanted to have a quickie. And worst of all, Alex doesn't even care. They just brush the situation off. This is such a departure from both of their characters, it baffles me how the author came up with it.
Now, I understand that it's a book for adults, and those can include themes including things like cheating, rape, etc., but these should be there for a reason. For instance, a character gets cheated on. This could then be used to develop their personality in the future. Maybe they become distrusting of everyone, or they themself become scumbags, etc.
However, this does NOT happen in this book. Instead, we get a completely irrational sex scene, with a completely irrational reaction from our protagonist. Honestly, I don't really remember the ending of the book, because I was just filled with so much anger at the author for ruining an awesome sequel.
This rant has gone on long enough, let me know if you share my view on this, or maybe if you see it from a different angle.

I liked this book.
This is the second book in the series. A boy fantasy with the dial set to 11. Alex, nerdy guy extraordinaire, still has a succubus girlfriend with a heart of gold who likes to call him master and a foul-mouthed angel that totally kicks ass. They engage in a polyamorous relationship and battle nasty vampires and werewolves and the FBI. There is A LOT of text oriented towards how they are engaging with the utmost care and complete success in a variety of non-standard, open / polyamorous sexual and emotionally complete relationships where everyone is satisfied and no one becomes jealous - I mean, who the hell would want to read about a non-successful version - that would be boring. However, there is so much discussion about how attentive they are in the various sex scenes that, frankly, it becomes a little tiresome. Plus, I felt that if you extract the I'm-making-the-menage-work aspect of the sex scenes, the text almost becomes the equivalent of reading an origami instruction manual with all the bending and tabs and slots.
Where this novel shines is in the action. I really enjoyed the last third of the novel where all the vast array of characters meet within the arena of battle. OK, so, some monsters seem totally bad-assed when killing off some disposable characters, and then meet their match when faced with nerdy boy. Hey, like I said, it's a boy fantasy. Rock on!
So, to reiterate, dial back the sex scenes before they begin to chafe - that should cut out a lot of chaff. (See how I did that?) Stick with the thriller aspects of the novel.

Where this novel shines is in the action. I really enjoyed the last third of the novel where all the vast array of characters meet within the arena of battle. OK, so, some monsters seem totally bad-assed when killing off some disposable characters, and then meet their match when faced with nerdy boy. Hey, like I said, it's a boy fantasy. Rock on!
So, to reiterate, dial back the sex scenes before they begin to chafe - that should cut out a lot of chaff. (See how I did that?) Stick with the thriller aspects of the novel.

Ahhh the sequel to Good Intentions. The plot pretty much revolves around the mess that was made in the previous book. They have FBI targeting them now, a werewolf still wanting to mate with Alex and a whole lot of angry vampires out for revenge. I enjoyed the book a lot and as usual Rachel's colorful speech was awesome. Having an angel with tourettes at all the wrong moments really enhances the entertainment factor of the story.
Overall I think the book wasn't as long as the first and maybe not 'milked' as much as it could be. For instance, Alex's drama with trying to deal with all his past lives I think has a lot more potential then was written. If there is a 3rd book, which I hope there is, the author still has plenty of room to play on Alex using his knowledge and memories of the Crusades or as a Viking to his advantage. He did touch a piano and I'd love to see more of that too.

Good story, good characters, head the warnings!!!!
This is the second novel in the Good intention series and yet gain follows Alex and the Angel and Demon bound to him. After the rather crazy ending of the first novel, things seem to have calmed down... they indeed only seem to be that way. In the background of all this there are all sorts of interested supernatural parties who want to know what the hell happened and find out where their friends and allies went all of a sudden. Enter a few more FBI agents and things get really interesting.
Mr. Kay writes interesting stories with surprising deep backgrounds in them. All of the main characters get their rich backgrounds and original thoughts to bring them to life. Expect this novel to be quite like the previous novel in the series. Good writing, interesting characters and a ton of adult material.

I got this book because of a recommendation by a friend and I have to say I am surprised just how good it is. For anyone who is interested in this book I would say do not hesitate unless you are put off by sexual content. There is a lot more sexual content than I think their needed to be, but that being said the story alone is fantastic.
This is book two in the series and I didn't read book one. I had no problem figuring out what was going on. It is definitely a standalone novel. I will be getting book one so I can enjoy the full story, and because I enjoyed this book so much I wish I had read book one first, only because now I know a lot about what transpired in the first book.
I would highly recommend this book to fans of paranormal, fantasy. Like I said don't read this book if you are put off by sexual content that doesn't add to the narrative of the story. If that doesn't bother you don't hesitate to start this book right now. Great writing and storyline. I hope there will be a book three. I will buy it.

The first book in the Good Intentions series was fantastically entertaining. Much of the reason for this was that it didn't feel like the author had much of a plan for the book, he just had a great setup and some general idea of the direction of the story but then thought ’What is the craziest most entertaining thing that can happen with these characters?’ and then made it happen.
This, the second book in the series feel much more planned out. Which might be a good thing, and probably necessary to keep the series going but ends up being less entertaining than all the hijinks of the first book.

As good as the first book but it loses a star compared to the previous book because of the way it allows Amber, Rachel and Lorelai to betray the ones they love without it really having any consequences.
While all 3 had "good intentions" as it were and ultimately did the "right" thing, it still got wrapped up abit too nicely. They really should have hurt Alex and Jason, and to see these characters just kinda shrug it off at the end without at least some time to went their frustrations was disappointing. The outcome was always gonna end up as it did in the series but at least the girls should have worked for it.
Somehow I doubt that if the genders were reversed the guys would have gotten off as easy as the girls did in this series.

This was a hard book for me to like because of my sensitivity to abuses of power. In essence, the FBI investigates our heroes and makes arrests without warrants and, possibly, probable cause since all the evidence the FBI has indicates self-defense clearly. However, the story goes on to explain these abuses in an interesting plot twist I don’t want to spoil. So, this is an intelligent and well written book that I’m giving a high score to in spite of some personal feelings of dislike.
There was only part of the story that really bugged me- one of the FBI agents gains access to the good guys by essentially seducing one of them (although I believe she avoided actual sex with him if I remember right). From the way the book is written it was pretty clear that the guy she fucked over was going to forgive her at his first opportunity, which I just can’t believe. That’s right, I find vampires and werewolves running around Seattle more believable than that. Essentially the guy has no reason to forgive her except to have sex with her and since he has his own mojo that shouldn’t be that big of a motivation either. This whole story line just feels like the author wanted a happy ending rather than following his characters through to their logical conclusions. In a word, it felt contrived, as did the happy ending all the way around. The head FBI guy is determined to have had his mind tampered with and someone else takes over and now everyone is friends. So the guys who were just locked up for days, without being charged, provided a lawyer or even treated with really any amount of decency, just turn around and say “let’s all be friends” for no real reason. Personally, I would have told them to fuck off- had they done their jobs well and according to the rules none of the shit would have happened.
The happy ending gets worse since in the post-resolution wrap up we are treated to a scene where the FBI agent just shows up at the door of the guy she seduced. He apparently has already forgotten how he begged her to keep dating him in the middle of the crisis that resolved the conflict of the story. At least we keep getting to hear how he is restraining himself from being snarky to her for about 5 minutes before the artificial happy ending is forced further along the author’s chosen path.
So, bottom line: 95% excellent, even though not completely enjoyable for me personally, 5% forced happy ending.

Whether because the first one was a big surprise in how good it was and therefore raised my expectations or whether it was simply a case of this book being a struggle to write; I found that I did not enjoy this book anywhere near as much as its predecessor.
With the exception of Taylor, pretty much all the main characters return for this next instalment in the Good Intentions series. However, rather than returning for another fun, action packed and raunchy sequel, they seemed to have returned for a book that spends far too much time with its characters simply talking about the same problems over and over.
However, that being said there is still a lot to like about this book. The characters do continue to grow, some of the relationships develop nicely and the world is definitely fleshed out to a level worthy of most mainstream urban fantasy novels.
The issue is that though there was growth and potential there, you just know as a reader that it could have been so much better, it just felt a little tired. The action wasn't as exciting, nor was there nearly enough of it. The sexy bits took a back seat to even more story expansion and talking.
One of the most troubling things for me was how the author treated the two main love interests in this book. Lorelei has been reduced from the playfully sexy succubus to the role of a patient older woman dealing with her younger lover's inexperience. Rachel on the other hand has gone from the humorous and morally divided angel to a workaholic wife who spends far more time at work than in the relationship and has her priorities skewed.
Basically this is a much reduced sequel to the considerably more enjoyable Good Intentions. However, that is not to say I wouldn't read a sequel if one were released. It may not have lived up to its predecessor but it was still an interesting read and one that is worthy of a bit of time.

The sequel to Good Intentions is another exciting dive into the Seattle supernatural community. This time the FBI gets involved which causes unanticipated difficulties as our heroes seek to protect themselves from the hostile attention of vengeance-seeking vampires and werewolves determined to force Alex into their pack. Kay’s take on werewolves and their reason for existence was especially interesting. Alex’s difficulty in dealing with his past-life experiences also adds considerably to the strain the heroes face. But it’s the angelic politics that produce the best surprises of the book as members of the heavenly host fail to accept that Lorelei has ceased to play for the demonic team in the ongoing war between heaven and hell. The only reason I’m not giving this book five stars is that I felt that most of the sex scenes didn’t do much to advance the story and therefore should have been shorter, unlike in the first novel where they are absolutely essential to understanding the developing relationship between Alex, Lorelei and Rachel.

Why 2 stars? Well, I know it's hypocritical to say that, but I didn't like the fact that Lorelei was enjoying that other guy, betraying the protagonist (from my point of view, since only Lorelei actively encouraged the protagonist to sleep with other women, but the protagonist didn't do that). Also, the protagonist's reaction to the event was also rather lackluster, acting like: "Ah, so you had s*x with that guy? Hmm, alright. Love ya, babe."
And Rachel, the second lover and an angel was totally okay seeing Lorelei sleeping with someone else other than their lover and seemed to have enjoyed it in a voyeuristic way.
Well, and yeah, the protagonist goes around sleeping with other women as well (again, and Lorelei actively encourages that behavior), but I'm not interested in reading books where the protagonist is sharing his lovers with other guys (or females if it is a female protagonist).
That NTR/Cuckolding stuff isn't for me, I rather dislike that stuff, more so when there is no warning from the author. Feels like an assassination of my feelings, lol.

I liked this if anything a little better than the first one.
There were fewer 'random' sexual encounters, though I think there was a bit more nookie in it overall.
Many of the minor characters from the first book got some more development, and we got some more backstory on the major ones, a lot of loose ends and 'hows and whys' from the first book get tied up.
I wasn't expecting an awful lot from this series, so i was really pleasantly surprised by both the overall quality of the writing (for contrast, Laurell K. Hamilton's frankly piss poor understanding of the meaning of some of the words she uses makes me outright angry, and that's the least of what gets past her editing process)and the story telling and world building is solid.
IMHO Good Intentions and Natural Consequences definitely sit at the 'actual Urban Fantasy' end of the 'Paranormal Romance' spectrum.

I liked the second book of the Good Intentions series, but I had to wait until I was in the mood. I have never been one for casual sex; which there is a bit of in Natural Consequences. I get that others are ok with casual or recreational sex and open relationships - I am not and I rarely enjoy reading stories where the MCs regularly have casual sex.
Kay writes good action scenes and the ending of the book is a fast paced hurl to the climax. Good characters, but somethings left me wondering like why would a 24-year old FBI agent have her tubes tied?
I was sorry to see Taylor leave Alex's bed. I hope that in the next book, Taylor returns as she was one of my favorite characters. Starting the next book now. I also like the lesbian witches, but wish they would keep their bedroom antics just to Alex, his angel and succubus.
