With their relationship on the line, can these friends overcome the challenges to find what they deserve…what’s been in front of them all along?
Sarah has been writing stories since she was eight years old. 26 years later, she finally achieved a lifelong dream of seeing one of her stories published. Married to her high school sweetheart, she spends much of her time writing, listening to music, and taking care of her two adorable minions (aka her children).
Can I have a Ben for myself pretty please??? Oh man, I absolutely fell in love with him from the very moment he helped little Callie when they were kids. He has watched on the sidelines as Callie has dated and he was always there if she needed anything even though she didn't want it. I am a huge fan of the second chance type books and while I guess this one wasn't really a second chance really, it was in the sense of they each discovered that they were much more than best friends. Ben is seriously a really amazing character. Callie, I really understood and in many parts could relate to her. This book really had it all, some serious steamy scenes, some drama and heartbreak and tears of joy. I really enjoyed all the characters. This is a brand new author for me, but I will most definitely be following on to see what she does next. My one and only complaint with this was in the beginning it is dual POV and while I really like that, I didn't like that when it switched POV's it was pretty much repeating what the other previous said. Would I recommend this book? Oh absolutely!!! This was a 4.5 AMAZEBALLS stars!
Can you say swoon?! I fell in love with Ben! Him and Callie first meet when they are just children. It follows the time line until they are adults. That's one of my favorite things about this book. The timeline flows smoothly. I hate when a book flashes back a thousand times and your so confused. Not in this book. Sarah shows you an amazing love story yet throws in heartbreak just to keep you on your toes. Ben finally reveals his feelings for Callie when they are older but with both of them being so stubborn can they last?? Must read!
This story between childhood friends has captivated me!! watching them grow up and into adulthood making mistakes and being there to help each other out when needed, leads to a challenging place they weren't sure they could survive.
I loved this story and getting to know Ben and Callie!!
Disclaimer: I got this book in exchange for a review. This is author, Sarah King's second novel that she has published. And what a fantastic story to continue with her writing career.
Meant to Be Mine is the love story of two souls finally coming together. While their life story and friendship, up until then, was purely on the platonic level (from one perspective), events in Callie's life change their course in love. This story will make you smile, make you cry and make you all gushy in the end.
The one thing that I truly loved about this story is that while it was fiction, it could completely happen to anyone in real life. It's a simple love story and the finding of each other. There's no unrealistic drama or the matter of dealing with a love triangle. It's refreshing to read such a love story that will keep you wanting to read more. When I was reading it, I felt like I was looking in on the lives of two individuals and watch them fall in love. Just pure happiness.
Do I recommend Meant to Be Mine? You bet I do! It's a great, wonderful and cute love story. It's simple, refreshing and not bombarded in drama.
So I am gonna start off by saying it took me a little to get into this book. The first few chapters there was a lot of back and forth of the same scenes just from a different pov. But I pushed through and boy am I so so glad. I really enjoyed it. It's starts off with Cally and Ben being kids and follows them as they grow up. It's a great love story. The struggle Ben goes through just breaks my heart. By the end I was mad at my kindle I just wanted to holler at them myself and say come on get in together! Your killing me here. Lol. I really enjoyed this book. Very good job!!
I was gifted this book for an honest review. I've never read a Sarah King book before and boy was I missing out. Her characters are complex and very well developed. Description is spot on and, for the duration of the book, I felt as if I could see the characters and locations. Sarah King is a strong writer and I can't wait to read more of her work.
However, I did have to mark a star off because....I didn't like the first few chapters of the book. I hated reading one chapter through the female lead (Callie) then reading the exact same chapter through the male lead (Ben). It's was counterproductive. After the initial few chapters, the view points continued to bounce BUT where one ended the other began instead of rereading the same chapter. Aside from that....amazing book!
Sweet story! Some of my favorite types of stories are friends to lovers so this was definitely right up my alley. I loved Callie and Ben's friendship though I wanted to smack them both a few times for how they were acting, but oh...when they finally realized how they felt for each other? That was great! My only complaint was with the pics. Sometimes when they alternated it was repeating whatever just happened from the other pov.
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review. I love a friends to lovers story. This book was written really well and I love a dual point of view. This was my first read of this author and it will not be my last.
I love a good friends to lovers romance! Ben and Callie were absolutely perfect together. You could definitely feel the chemistry as the story progressed and although they frustrated me to pieces during certain parts of the story I was so happy in the end!
