Millie has been in her family home for decades. She sits and watches everything from the attic window. Millie's house is for sale, The only catch is Millie will never leave her house. Millie has been dead for decades. Millie is excited that someone may buy the house. She is tired of being alone. She yells's at the broker not to mess it up again. Millie noticed that it looked like the gentleman looking at the house saw and heard her. she shakes it off and when the gentleman makes the offer to buy the house Millie is happy. You have to read the story and see what happens. Does Millie haunt them, does she stay out there way and enjoy the company? I read this book in once day cause it had me from the beginning. The writing was great and so is the story line. I honestly can't wait to read more books from this authur

Millie is a ghost that has been in her family home for decades and she has watched owners come and go, never being able to communicate with any of them. That all changed when Noah moved into her house. Noah could see her and actually talk to her.

This was a great read. I love how the story unfolded and how we got to know Millie's story while learning more about Noah. I could almost predict the ending but it sure didn't happen like I thought it would. I immediately fell in love with Millie and Noah. I felt Millie's pain when she would remember about her life. Noah was easy to love and his fiance was easy to hate. So all of that together made this book the great read that it is.

This is the first book by Cassie I have read. I picked it up at a book signing I was at recently and thought this sounds like a good read. I wasn’t disappointed. I was a great book. Millie was born and died in the same house. She is still in that house as well. Noah comes to look at Millie’s house to buy and fix up for his fiancé. Noah can see and talk to Millie. He is the first person Millie has talked to since her death. After buying the house Noah and Millie develop a sort of friendship. At the same time Noah and his fiancé are having problems sharing a vision for the house. Millie loves the changes Noah is making to her home while his fiancé never seems to be happy with any of the changes. Noah and Millie forge a deeper connection as time goes by. Millie realizes that she is in love with Noah but she is dead and he isn’t. How could they ever have anything beyond what they already have? This book is wonderfully moving and has a bit of a twist. This book had me hooked from the first page and I was pulling for some way for Millie and Noah to be together. I can’t wait to read the next book and I know it will be great.

Review:

This is the sweetest story of paranormal love. Until Death Do Us Part is a short story that if you just need to shed a few tears and then have a really happy ending, this is the book to read.

The plot of this book takes us to a house that is haunted by Millie. Millie is the sweetest ghost ever. Her life ended after terrible circumstances and she has been stuck in her childhood home for years watching families come and go. Her house is for sale again and an engaged couple is thinking about buying it. Millie is so excited that her house will be a home again that she begs the couple to buy her home. The house has been empty for a long time and she is so lonely. What happens in this story is so charming and beautiful you will have that feel good feeling at the end. There is so much chemistry in this book both good and bad. The story is fast paced and you will be speeding through the pages to read the conclusion of this story. Ending, yes it is a happy ever after, but remember that this is a paranormal romance. Character development we see how Millie’s life and afterlife has developed over the many years. We also see the relationship between Noah and his fiancé grow and change to an unlikely surprise.

My Rating: 4.5

Ghost stories aren't really anything I've gotten into before, but that was the appeal that this novella had for me! I wanted to see how this author did with it, and it worked completely!

The story opens up to Millie hanging out in her attic domain, while a real estate guy shows an engaged couple the house that used to be hers. She is excited and nervous at the same time, especially when it seems that the man, Noah, may have actually SEEN her... when typically it's only small children that even care to take notice of her. Claire, his fiancee, had no clue that Millie was even there.

Once Noah moves in, it becomes very clear that he is aware of her presence in her home. He asks her if it bothers her that he's moved in, and proceeds to introduce himself. Millie seems completely surprised by this acknowledgment but also happy for the company in her home.

"Silence she could handle, but from Noah it unnerved her."

You slowly get the picture of what happened to Millie as the story continues and while it's a short novella, it's a complete story and was very fulfilling as a romance! She lived during the Great Depression and you also find out how she came to be a ghost in her own home. Her tragic past becomes something she can share with Noah, and they learn to connect, despite her not being in a human form anymore.

"Depression and life's cruelty may have driven her to a premature death, but it hadn't tempered her sweetness."

I really enjoyed the characters, and I liked that the house itself was also a character in the story. It held a history and a special place in Millie's heart. I love how she was so approving of Noah's changes to the house, when Claire wasn't.

"You brought my house back to life... I wish it could be the same for me. I can't even touch you. You deserve so much more."

This was my first book by Cassie Leigh, and I will definitely be following her as I've just found out she's writing a follow up to this novella. Can't wait to get my hands on it!

Final Score - 4 Stars!

This book had me in tears ... Millie because her life ended just before it really begun and Noah because he was trapped with no way out.

Millie was 18. Had just lost her child and her husband was a mistake, a youth fancy that turned in an abusive jerk. To escape her pain and loneliness, she resorted to extreme measures. As a result, she now "haunts" her once childhood home. Year after year, seeing people come & go from the house only add to her loneliness until...

Noah comes buy a new fixer upper along with his fiancee and decides to take a chance on the house. His fiancee is shallow, childish and utterly lacking in any qualities. She sees the house as an end to her idea of the perfect wedding, rather spending the money on a lavish ceremony instead of her future.

I loved how Millie and Noah connected. I was surprised by it at first, but the more I read, the deeper I became invested in these two not only ending up together (against some extreme odds) but having it play out in way that plausible.

The author delivered on all accounts. The only issue I take, which is why I scored it a 4 out of a 5 is the epilogue. There was none and I feel that we should have at least seen how Millie and Noah ending up in the future. It would have solidified the ending more.

This story will be a definite re-read during the Halloween week and even beyond.

The Haunted Romance series consists of two short novellas. While the two stories are connected in a fashion each one could stand on its own as the connection between the characters isn’t necessarily the driving force behind either story.

Cassie’s writing is bright and quick. It didn’t take me long to read either story. I fell in love with Millie from book one almost instantly. She is the lost soul with so much potential and her life was destroyed by one tragic choice.

I struggled in connecting with the main characters in book two. I actually love the descriptions of the old house and the town. (They have an AWESOME coffee shop!) I wanted more time with Bettina’s coworkers, Charity and Amanda.

The only thing that bothered me (and I’ll admit I don’t read a lot of ghost romance stories) was the ghost sex. The characters connecting sexually made sense for the story, but how it happened and how it was described seemed awkward and clumsy. It felt like I was watching a Rated R movie with my parents in the room.

These are Cassie’s first books. Outside of the awkward sex scenes, these books are a solid start and an easy romantic read.

This was a quick, easy read. I liked the premise of "haunted" romances and I'm excited to read the next one. Overall I found the characters pretty easy to relate to and root for. Since it's novella length I didn't feel quite as deep of a connection, just because there wasn't as much story/details. I did enjoy it the book, and felt the details and story that was laid out flowed nicely. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a quick romance and the promise of other ones in the future, especially if you enjoy paranormal settings.

*Spoiler*

I had a tiny problem with the end when Millie takes over Claire's body. I think if the author had done a little more to express the feelings of Millie and Claire at the time, I would have liked it a little better. Before that moment Claire showed no indication that she was depressed or willing to give up her life so it bothered me a bit. Overall, the whole idea of taking over another person's body is a hard concept for me to get behind personally.

Despite this I enjoyed the book though and look forward to more!

I was pleasantly surprised by this novella! This was my first paranormal story that included spirits. Normally when I need my PNR fix, I read about vampires or shifters. But I am very happy that I took a chance on this! What I liked most was that I had no idea what to expect - new author, new PNR character type - and I enjoyed it!

This sweet romance starring Millie & Noah will win your heart. The characters are lovable and you instantly feel connected to them.

I enjoyed the author’s writing style a lot. She has the talent to pull you into the story and make you want to turn page after page. Even though the story is a novella, it doesn’t lack on charm and emotion. I recommend this if you like fast-paced, well-written paranormal romances. I look forward to reading the next book in the series!

Normally I do a star rating and that is that for a review, but I really wanted to write something for this one. I always feel the need to seek out & support our local indie book scene here in Iowa.

This is not my usual genre that I choose to read, but I was intrigued by the synopsis of the book so I decided to give it a shot. I was not disappointed. In the past I've read stories of this nature, and I just was not able to get into it. Cassie did a sensational job at building the main characters, and a stunning job at making me have such distaste at the lovely (sarcasm) Claire.

Thank you, Cassie, for the marvelous & page turning read.

Millie, the friendly ghost... Casper ain't got nothing on her this Paranormal Ghost Romance story.

This book was unlike any paranormal book I have read. I love how the author takes elements of the deceased and intermingles her with the present. The situations and issues that she had in the past still exist today and I love how she made me feel the loss and regret that Millie is going through. The ending was a surprise to say the least, but I love the turn it took for her to find love.

I picked this up because it sounded different from my usual reads. My first book by this author and it was different and i loved. Even though it was short it didn't feel rushed or lacking in depth or story. I will definitely read the next one and keep an eye out i would a longer book by this author.

I didn't really know what to expect when I started reading this one. How is a ghost and a human going to fall in love? Well........ Cassie Leigh will tell you!

This book was super sweet. Millie is a ghost living in the house that Noah and his Fiancé are going to be moving into. When Millie realizes that Noah can see her and communicate with her, they start a friendship that starts to grow into more.

How can this relationship work out? Well you're just going to have to read it to find out!

This was a short novella length book, I read it in about an hour or so. It was super sweet, and I loved the characters. Millie's backstory of how she died was so sad, and you just wanted her to get a happy ending after her life ended with tradgedy. Noah was a really great guy. I liked his character. The only thing I didn't like with this book is it left me with questions at the end!

All in all this was a quick and fun read :)
