It’s been six years since Abigail Byrne laid eyes on Brian Foley, but since then she’s been unable to keep him out of her thoughts and dreams. Determined to try to forget him, she moves on with her life until the day her twin sister disappears without a trace. Abby has no choice but to turn to Brian for help in locating her twin, even if it results in having her heart broken.
Brian’s life as a vampire has consisted of little more than killing and death for the last two hundred years. There’s no room inside of him anymore for kindness and love, or so he thinks, until he hears Abby’s frantic plea for his help. Unable to refuse her request, Brian agrees to help Abby find her missing sister.
As the search for Vicky progresses, Brian does everything he can to deny his growing feelings for Abby. However, the further they delve into her sister’s disappearance, the more determined he becomes to protect her from the horrors they uncover.

AGHDAIAJAJ. I loved it - can't say much more. I knew the second Brian made it through the first book in the vampire awakenings series that I would love to read his story. I was not disappointed. I love him - just like I love all the witty and evil characters in books. I also liked that this story was progressing differently than many of the other books.
For both Abby and Brian and is pretty much obvious that they are destined for each other. Only problem is Brian feels he's not good enough for Abby and Abby is riding the guilt trip for gawking at Brian 24/7 instead of investing every second of her existance into finding Vicky, the twin sister who is missing. You see, it's pretty much rediculous. AND SO EXCITING. OMG I loved this story sooo much.
Abby is really not keen on calling Brian to help him find her twin sister. Ever since she has laid eyes on him once when she was a teenager she pretty much knew what this man was to her, even though she tried to not deal with that suspision for half a dozen years. But he's her only option given she doesn't want to involve neither her family nor is able to make Ronan's warriors help her. Adding to that is his amazing talent to locate people. Abby knows exactly what spending even an hour with this vampire would mean for her. It would plague her because no matter what she tried in the last years, now man was enough. Neither the humans nor the vampires.
Brian's eyes almost pop out of his head when he sees her again for the first time in nearly 6 years. He has noticed something special the day he once saw her before (the day he endanger the life of her and her entire family) but it is no comparison to the blow he receives when he recognizes her as his mate. Still tortured by his past and the violent deaths of his family, he is torn between keeping her safe by distancing himself from her emotionally and keeping her safe by keeping her so close nobody could ever harm her without getting through him first.
This story is so bitter sweet and there was this one moment where it got so cute I literally had troubles keeping on reading. Ugh, I just love them so much.
This is such a strong addition to the already outstanding Vampire Awakenings series. This book really does have it all, intense adventure, unforeseeable situations and off the charts attraction. Abby is on the search for her missing twin Vicky and with her sister vanishing without a trace and feeling she can't turn to her family, she turns to Brian Foley for help. She knew she would see him again, she just didn't anticipate that it would be so soon!
I'm surprise that the MMC wasn't more ruthless and dangerous. Getting his side of the story humanized him. Abby, the fmc made me love the book even more. The plot was great, a little dark but so enjoyable.
I have been reading this series since the first book and have loved every one of them. This one literally grabbed me with the first sentence and I could not put it down until I had gotten to the end. I am not even sure what it was about this that had me so captivated but it was something that I want to experience again. The characters were so vivid and alive that I could see what was happening to them every step of the way. The situations were plausible and did not seem so fantastic that they were totally unbelievable. It flowed perfectly and kept you engrossed and sunk into the world that was being built around you.
Abby Byrne has been warned about Brian Foley by her family, saying he is dangerous and a monster. But when they find themselves in trouble and need someone who knows how to kill they call on him. Well this time Abby needs his help and does not want to tell her family what is going on. Her twin sister, Vicky, has gone missing and she needs someone who can help find her without alarming her parents or siblings.
There is another thing between her and Brian that she had hoped to avoid for a few more years if at all possible. The first and only time she had seen him was in a hotel room when she was fifteen and he was saving her and her sister from a killer, that he had led to her family. But after that night she could not get him out of her mind and dreamed about him for years. She really hopes that it doesn't mean what she fears it might.
This was a story that will be really enjoyed by those who have read the previous stories, especially since you do get to check in with some of the other family members. I highly recommend this series and this book. There is some violence, sex, mutilations, and drug use.
**Tavia Gilbert is a great narrator who continues to bring the characters in these novels to life.
Ooh, really enjoyed this one more than the previous books. While the others were entertaining this one was a bit more intense. Oh and the fated mates, is all it is, fated to be together. No guarantee of love. It wasn't insta luv for Brian for Abby. He was still carrying around feelings for his dead wife but I didn't feel like his previous feelings for his wife were overshadowing what he was starting to feel for Abby.
I'm not really in the mood to write a long review but I highlighted this one a lot more than any other books in this series. There were sweet moments and passionate moments. The love making was quite hot, probably the hottest of the series.
You definitely want to read this series in order. Especially before reading this one because Brian comes into play in an earlier book.
If you're looking for a nice, new paranormal, I highly recommend this one.
Brian likes to keep to himself. He's a lone vampire helping takeout all those other vampires that go around killing innocent humans for the thrill or more. But it's time he takes a break. Just as he is about to set off on a long awaited vacation, he receives a call for help in finding Abby's twin sister
Abby knows somethings not right when she hasn't heard from her twin sister in two weeks. With nobody left to call, Brian her last resort even though she knows it would make her family mad. He's a rough man with a harsh pst she knows nothing of and a killing machine. But she knows he an help her.
The chemistry between these two characters was heart pulling. I wished for the best for them but there were so many obstacles in their way. Abby's family not liking him, her innocence, and Brian's horrifying past and future promises to himself keep them at a distance as their need for each other mounts to epic proportions. Abby knows Brian's no good for her, but she was good for him which inevitably would make him a better man.
I cried for Brian's past. After all his loss and pain it's understandable why he doesn't want anyone but to be alone. There were so many layers and I loved reading how Abby slowly pulled them back without him realizing it. And Abby's determination to save her sister and her strength to stand up to Brian made me love her even more. Their story was heartbreaking just as much as it was hopeful.
Abby’s twin sister Vicky is missing and instead of calling her family for help, she contacts the one person they barely trust. Brian gets a call out of the blue from Abby and she begs for his assistance. He’s only met her once when she was a teen, but he remembers her. Brian reluctantly agrees, but soon realizes that there is more to Vicky’s disappearance than he initially believed.
Brenda K. Davies knocked it out of the park with this book! I already love this series and this made me love it a million times more. I was excited to read Brian’s story because I knew he would be complex. His past was very heartbreaking and I loved how Abby helped him get through his pain. I was elated to see new characters. We met Ronan in the last book and she introduced us to his rag tag group of purebreds. Some were funny, others were scary, but I can’t wait to hear more about them. I loved seeing some familiar characters and it was great to know what’s going on in their lives.
Just when you think the story is over, craziness happened. This book was action packed and kept me wanting more. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next! Five stars!!
This is Brian and Abby's story! Fans of this series has been eagerly waiting for Brian's story! Throughout this series Brian has remained an enigma, reserved and closed off. The day Abby calls Brian to help her find her twin, Vicky, he felt a pull from her that he doesn't understand or can come to grips with! Vicky has disappeared and Abby fears something has happened to her. Brian agreed to help her and together they begin their search. As they gather more info they realize that Vicky has fallen into something bad. Brian keeps fighting what he's feeling for Abby and decides they need to let her family know Vicky is missing! It's a race to find Vicky before Ronan finds out what has been happening! Suspense, intensity, stay on the edge of your seat! Their story will wrap you up, keeping the pages turning! I love this series and if you've read the first four books, you will not want to miss this book!
So quick for the attraction — Despite there having been a past we don’t get it so it feels like insta lust which is unbelievably boring and forces the drama to rely on “she’s too good for me” which is gets on my last nerve. There’s a lot of talking about how he’s a badass and an awful person but eh, the things he's done? not that terrible. Then there was this quote that had me buggin:
“What I want to do to you now should be done to no woman. Will you run from me now?” he demanded in a harsh whisper. a fucking blowjob on her knees?? OH NO THE SAVAGERY *rolls eyes*
too bad I'm so desperate to read a good vampire romance because I would've been alright to not have to slog through this.
Brian doesn't appreciate interruptions, "Brian released a volatile curse and rolled off her. He snatched the vibrating phone from the ground and brought it to his ear. “What?” he barked into it." It's quite obvious Brian has some jealousy issues, "a jolt went through Brian at her words. “You will not be feeding directly from humans any more. It will either be blood bags or me.” I enjoy this series, I love the characters.
Again, not my favorite in the series, but LOVE this series and still 5/5. I love Brian's growth throughout the books and the twists of mates as well as how the story is told and how you learn more about this vampire lore as well as the differences with purebreds. Still truly enjoying this whole series.
---- Re-reading series ---- Brian really grows on you with rereading these. He is now one of my favorites. Abby not so much but she is still pretty tough and cool.
This was such an exciting book! Abby has an identical twin Vicky, they are considered purebreds-blood and in this book Vicky goes missing. Abby is living in her college dorm when she reaches out to Brian a powerful hundreds years old vampire. He is very handsome with platinum blonde hair and light blue eyes. He helps her and they each noticed an attraction but he doesn’t want to give in to it. Brian has issues and doesn’t want to get involved with anyone. This and book 1 are my favorites so far! They are action packed and steamy love scenes! With a great ending.
I love brian. And I love how much he tried to fight this lol. They all fight it. You got to wonder what's wrong with them that they have to fight this attraction. And I am so happy to find Killian. I've been looking for Killian for 2 years. Actually longer lol. So happy to have found him.
OMGosh! I LOVE this book. I think david now has some competition as my favorite. Brian is an amazing and complex character. He so much more than was ever revealed before. Abigail is definitely different than the last time we saw her but, she is has grown into an interesting woman. 5*s to you again, Brenda. Well done! FYI - David is still my number one and he does make an appearance in this story as well. YAY!
Brian is a solitary man with one goal in mind, to kill any and all killer vamps, as many as he can. He survives each day plagued by the memory of the night his world changed forever. The night he became a vampire, the night the monsters who created him killed his wife and two young daughters. He lives his life drowning in guilt and rage. Each day he sinks further into the depths of the pain he feels. Believing he can't ever feel peace again he pulls away from everyone. Until the moment he receives a call from a girl that wasn't even on his radar. Abigail Byrne is desperate to find her twin sister Victoria. She disappeared and Abby feels too guilty to disrupt her other family members lives to lay this on their shoulders. Not having any other option she calls on the one man she has craved more of, and dreaded ever seeing again, for the last 6 years. What will he think or say when they see one another again. Despite her apprehensions she calls Brian and begs for his help in her search. Abby is placing all her hope in the idea that Brian will be able to find her sister. Though, once they see one another again, everything changes. Both of them are drawn to one another like never before, but neither is willing to break down the walls they have constructed around themselves enough to allow the other in. Wil they be able to save Vicky and themselves or will they all be lost? Well... you'll just have to read to find out.
Brian is a close second to David, but David is still my number one!
This was definitely another amazing read by this author. I have loved Brian since he was first introduced in Destined. He came across as the ultimate bad boy but he was so much more. I was really excited to get to know him better in this book. He certainly didn't disappoint. The background story of this book could be described as human trafficking meets vampires. This brings an added edge to this story. The Byrne family is so large and diverse. In this book, along with Brian, we get to know Abigail who is searching for her twin sister, Vicki. She turns to Brian for help. In this world of soul mates, blood and family, I get excited to see how the author will go about putting each couple together. Brian is a truly complex character. Death and revenge had become his life for well over a century. He was haunted by the death of his family when they were attacked and he was turned. He's never allowed himself to get close to anyone due to guilt over not saving them and his immense fear of losing more people he cares about. Guilt had consumed his entire vampire existence. So finding his possible mate in Abby seemed like a very difficult road to travel. But she is exactly what he needs. She has a beauty that is just as pure outside as inside. The warmth and brightness that flows within and around her is impossible for Brian to resist. The heat between these two had me turning on a fan quite a bit. Together, even with her innocence, they set the pages on fire! Man, I loved this amazing, unique and sexy as hell vampire! Mrs. Davies keeps bringing characters to life that are impossible not to fall in love with or have heat strokes over. I cannot wait to dive into the next book in this series! This series has become one of my top five worlds to immerse myself in. Each story is so unique yet also the same which definitely works to create very entertaining worlds that keep my rapt attention until the last page.
Was excited to read book 5 as a great series. However I thought first half, Abby was so childlike with her temper felt sorry for Brian he was stuck with her as a lifemate. If answering back, and having tantrums meant we appreciated her fiestiness meant she was to be admired. Wrong.
After a petting session I expected Brian to say, Good Girl.
Missed the family and only came together once they can together to save her twin Lucy from vampires. She then became a young adult and worthy of Brian a 180year vampire.
Listened on audio and the drawn out sex scenes, I disassociated with as I just don't like Abby.
Wow just wow. This is my first review and that is saying something. I couldn't put the book down. I have read the other books in the series but this is my absolute favorite. I am completely in love with Brian and Abby. What a heratbreaking story. My heart broke for Brian. And Abby what a woman... This book has everything, angst, hot sex, funny moments and most of all love. I highly recommend this book. To Brenda K Davies you are wonderwoman. I want to live in your head. Lots of love to you. Now go in to your writing cave and give me Vicky and Ronan's story, hopefully together. Wink wink
Yes, yes, and yes. The cover is super hot. I happen to love the eyes and the background. Brian is absolutely a bad boy but one who is out to get those who deserve it. He doesn't kill humans though it has happened before out of necessity. When Abby calls though, he drops everything to help her find her twin. He just can't help himself when it comes to her. In fact, she could very well be the unraveling of his sanity as it's pushed further and further. He is literally becoming undone. I have been waiting to hear Brian's story for some time and it didn't disappoint!!
I have to say I'm always waiting patiently (not) for your new releases. This series is one of my favorites! But Undone is now my new favorite , the storyline is amazing. The action, having Abby be the savior of Brian was a great twist. That made me really smile. Can't wait to see what happens next. Are the stooges up for mates or Aiden? Will Vicky get her revenge hmmm can't wait to find out?
Just try and do anything else once you start this book. Just try. Brian was basically untouchable. Unstoppable. Unbreakable. Unloveable. But fate doesn't care if you shouldn't be loved. Or if you're incapable of loving in return. Something Abby quickly finds out after she seeks out his aid to help locate her missing twin. Can they survive the battle they unwittingly step into? Can she survive a loveless life by completing the bond? Will Brian even allow the chance?
I've been always curious about Brian and couldn't wait to read his story, well I have to say that I am not disappoint it. Well done Brenda I wonder who will be next?
“Did you use your ability to get to the center?” she inquired suspiciously. He tugged her against his side. “Nope, I’m naturally good at everything I do.” “You’re not very good at being humble.” “I’ve never tried it before, but I’m sure if I did, I’d be fucking fantastic at it.” Abby laughed as she leaned against his side. “I’m sure you would too.”

Brian, Brian, Brian you know what they say about 'the bigger they are, the harder they fall' well that say is also true for Big, Gorgeous, Tortured, Vampires and in this series they don't come any more tortured than Brian......lol
Abby fell hard for Brian when she was 15 but even back then she wasn't convinced he was her mate so she let it go and moved on or she tried anyway but for 6yrs now he has plagued her dreams. Abby is the sensible twin she is the reliable twin and she always always does the right thing or at least she did right up until her twin Vicky goes missing. Abby can't tell her family she needs to find Vicky before her family notices she is missing but she also knows she cannot do it on her own so what does Abby do?????? She calls the one man she shouldn't the one man she has been trying to forget since she was 15 and the one man she knows deep down she will never get out of her system, finding your vampire mate can suck big time.....lol
Can Brian help Abby find Vicky? Can Brian keep his hands and the rest of his gorgeous body to himself or will he go insane when he finally admits Abby is his mate which means he has to let go of his tortured past so he can move into a future with Abby a future he never saw coming and a future he is not totally convinced her wants.
A great tale with a lot of weaving in this web Abby and Brian need to unravel everything before they can come out the otherside.
This was a good read although I didn't enjoy it as much as I did the previous book in this series. There were definitely things I liked and disliked about this story. This book gives us Abigail (Abby) and Brian's story. I liked learning more about Brian as he made appearances in the previous books. It was good learning about his past including his family, and the skill he uses when he's needed. His conversation with Declan was hilarious and made me laugh out loud. Abby is grown and has reached maturity. She has always known that she and Brian had a connection, and he was more to her than any other man she dated so when she calls him for help there is no denying the mate bond between them. Their story was steamy and full of suspense. I didn't like how Abby lines were repetitive a lot in the beginning. There were times where her actions made me want to grab her and shake her for acting so immature. I also wish that the whole story didn't focus so much on finding Vicky. I wish there was just more time for me to enjoy them being a couple without all of the added drama with Vicky's kidnappers. Overall, it was a good story and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series which will give us Mia and David's story.
I love this series. I’m pretty sure you probably could guess that from the fact that I’ve read it three times. Undone has to be my favorite book thus far into the series. Brian is everything you would expect from a bad boy 200+ year old vamp.
And Abby is like the sweet girl who falls for him. But you soon learn that even though she is definitely sweet she will rip your head off if you even think about messing with her loved ones.
And they mesh so well. They go through all the things you would expect for them to go through. Abby had 6 years to fall in love with Brian but kept it hidden because of uncertainty. And Brian hadn’t allowed himself to feel anything but caring for Abby. Until, they almost lose each other.
I love watching Brian realize that he doesn’t have to always protect Abby because she can take care of herself. He learns that by his side is where she belongs not shelters behind him. I loved reading the evolution of their relation ship progress and hope that some time in the future we get a glimpse of how their relationship has progressed.
