Tammy Falkner lives on a farm in a lovely, sprawling little town in rural NC with her beekeeper husband and a house full of boys, a few dogs, and a cat or two (or five – who has time to count?). As half of the Lydia Dare team, she has co-written ten books, including the Westfield Wolves series and the Gentlemen Vampyre series. A huge fan of Regency England, she often wonders what other kinds of magical, mythical and strange creatures might live and interact within the ton. Exploring the theory that the fae can walk between Regency England and their own land, Tammy spends as much time as possible with the lords and ladies of society, horse-drawn carriages, and elegant balls. Now add to that some faeries, a little murder, a bit of mayhem, and a troublesome garden gnome, and you have her exciting new series. She hopes you enjoys her world as much as she does.

Tammy Falkner writes with so much heart it’s impossible not to fall in love with her stories. And it’s always so fun to see how she’ll continue with the triple letter titles!

Ryan has lived his entire life certain a hearing person couldn’t possibly understand or fit in his deaf culture. Until he meets the one girl who’ll intrigue and challenge him enough to question his beliefs. But said girl has fears of her own and giant walls that isolate her. Can Ryan break through her barriers? Can he see beyond his own predispositions?

Lark has deep scars both physical and emotional. Very few people have seen the ones on her body because they’re hidden behind gloves along with her secrets. Deciding she’ll more effectively hide them with tattoos she goes to the Reed’s and finds herself face to face with a man who can’t hear but can certainly see past her hurt and fear. Can their love be enough to tear away layers and misconceptions?
“Scars mean you healed. You went through a trauma and your body healed. Scars mean you came out the other side. You survived.”

The anticipation to open a Reed Brother’s book for me goes beyond wanting to read about sexy, tatted men or wanting to get a glimpse of the Reed brothers themselves. I know I’ll be getting a story with a whole bunch of sweetness from loveably, distinct characters interlaced with serious issues that will make you think. And Holding Her Hand is no exception.
“She can hear. I can’t. It’s a pretty big thing...”
“Reagan kicks ass and I can’t,”
Pete tosses out.
“It’s not the same,” I protest.
Sam stares at me. “Peck stutters and I don’t.” The room goes quiet.
Logan speaks up. “Emily can’t read well, and I can...”
“We’re all different… Let’s face it, dude. The only thing that makes us all the same is that we are so very different from one another.”

Continuing with the Fallen From Zero girls, we now get to know the reasons behind Lark’s permanent use of gloves when she meets Ryan at the Reed’s tattoo shop. A charming man who seems to think their differences will never allow their lives to fit well together.
“Deaf people think deaf. It’s different for hearing people who learn sign language. Culturally, we’re not the same.”

But the chemistry between Ryan and Lark is instant, their back and forth charming and their pull towards each other irrefutable. I enjoyed everything from the way Ryan so patient and caringly coaxed Lark into revealing her tragic and heartbreaking secrets, to the ransom cap-scapades that led to a cute handle (Larkypoo McCapsnatcher) and even cuter chats.
“I think you’re funny, and you’re smart, and if you don’t care that I’m deaf, I won’t hold it against you that you can hear.”

Both characters incredibly endearing. Lark is "She’s smart and funny and thoughtful. And scarred in so many ways." Ryan is "gentle but firm, tender but harsh, soft but hard." I love reading a touching story with very little drama where the main characters get to help each other get through life’s challenges and hurtles, fall in love and bask in that sweetness. And don’t get me started on Ryan’s cute and sexy flirting that made Lark blush flaming red with so much swoonage.
“You take my breath away on a normal day, but when your cheeks turn pink, I feel like you’ll never give the breath back.”

I love how Tammy continues to build this series with a caring, supporting and close-knit group of men and women I can’t get enough of. And although a Reed brothers book is not complete without one or several of them popping in, Tammy’s always present sense of family was carried out with the Zero sisters and their parents. Yes Melio needs a special shout out all for himself.
“Trust me, Lark, he does. He knows you better than anyone ever has.”
“I haven’t known him very long, Melio.”
“The heart has a tendency to get acquainted quickly,”
he says.
“I thought that was just a penis and a vagina,” I counter.
“That too… But the heart, that’s the important part, and that boy might just fill up all the space in yours.”

Holding Her Hand is book #9 in the Reed Brothers series. It can be read as a standalone and has a happy ending.

I just love this series and all the characters involved.  Each of their stories has a little unique twist which makes it easy to remember what has happened to each of them in the past.  Even the short novellas of this series are so touching with so much meaning and so worth the read!

Lark....she is broken and scarred, but trying to move on with life.  The guilt she suffers from is excruciating and I can't even imagine how she ever got over it.

And then there is Ryan.  Ah man, what a sweetheart!  He is the new tattoo artist at the Reed's shop and he is also deaf.  His main issue....he refuses to date a hearing person.  Whaattt?!?!??!!  Not fair!  But then he meets Lark, does some tattoo work for her, and by some miracle, he is able to get her to open up to him.  Lark has been hiding her scars for years, and he is the first person she trusts enough to open up and reveal herself, both physically and emotionally.  I just loved them!  There wasn't much angst and this was just a sweet story of how two people came together and conquered their fears and anxieties through the strength of each other.

This series is one of my all-time favorites!  I just can't get enough of them all!  They are like long lost friends at this point!  Way to go Tammy!  I assume we get Wren's story next....I expect it to be crazy!!

First Encounter: The male protagonist ogles, he simply can't help it but notice the woman's "awesome rack" and the woman? She freaking blushes. Argh. Why??? Can anyone pls answer me why this is, what, cute? Charming? And not freaking disgusting??

But hey, I continued reading and couldn't find anything else in this book that REALLY bothered me. Sure, there was this ex gf that was thrown in there to add some drama, and the fact that four women in this book are pregnant at the same time (tf?) but other than that...

Protagonists?
The hero was actually pretty cute and very decent after their first encounter.
The heroine is strong, has overcome depression and I love the speech she gives on that topic towards the end. Wuhu. You go girl.

The side characters were fun, especially Ryan's brother Mike.

The plot?
Don't really know. I liked the idea but everything was kinda rushed... Didn't have the feeling that the main protagonists really got to know each other in that short amount of time.

Therefore, all in all, 3 Stars. Didn't work for me that well...

My reading order OCD is getting to me and I know that I should not have skipped the few books that came prior to this... but not much was given away – so I’m reading those mixed books next (or I’m going to go crazy!).

Holding Her Hand is the 9th in The Reed Brothers Series, bringing us the story of Ryan (deaf tattoo artist) and Lark (member of the Zeroes).

Ryan has been deaf his whole life, raised by two deaf parents and admittedly not ever one to date a girl who isn’t deaf. But all of that is about to change when Lark enters the shop for some ink to cover some scars.

Both Ryan and Lark sort of have this insta-love relationship. And although at times that doesn’t work for me, I found in this case – it sort of did. Lark was struggling with a lot of guilt over her parents and after being so closed off, feeling that bond with Ryan – that trust – I could see how she could easily be swept away in a romance.

This was a quick and very sweet read. Much like the prior books in this series, Ms. Falkner gives you solid characters with touching storylines that help you to create an instant bond with them.

If you love your romances to be heavy on the sweet, this is your series.

Lark & Ryan

Ryan is a tattoo artist and the Reed’s shop. He is also deaf.

Lark is one of the Zero’s and wants to get some tattoo’s to cover her scars. Larks’ scars are burns from when she was younger and she also has suicide scars on both wrists from when she was 15. Her story is sad and the guilt that she feels is understandable.

Lark does not let anyone outside of the family see her scars but she has to show Ryan if he is going to cover them for her. Ryan likes Lark right away. And they have a comfortable friendship.

Their friendship grows stronger and they move towards a romantic relationship. Lark meets Ryan’s brother Mick and they get along great. Lark gets to meet the rest of Ryan’s family and all of course love her.

Ryan likes Lark’s parents and sisters and finds himself thinking of all of them as part of his family as well.

Nice happy story, no ups and downs really, just a nice romance.

Rating: 2 STARS

Happy Reading!

"Holding Her Hand" is the story of Lark and Ryan.

Man. I am so mad at myself that this beloved series got lost in my TBR. I have loved every book of this, last of which I read back in 2017. And I cannot explain how wonderful it was to get back to this world.

This book has a scarred and broken musician h, who goes to get a tattoo but ends up finding her soulmate in the H, who is a deaf artist. They have supportive friends, crazy exes, heartbreak, varied families, hot lovemaking, witty humor, heartbreaking angst- but the best part definitely was the sensitivity with which all the issues were dealt- self harm, depression, deafness, family dynamics and abortion. I absolutely ADORED the banter between the h and H, the cap conversations were definitely one of my favorites ever. Also, such tender scenes- like the one where they watch a horror movie and the h realizes the H isn't scared because he cannot hear the music- yet he stays with her definitely melt my heart. Some drama at the end, but all ends in a heartwarming HEA.

Loved this series. Love this book. Gah so good.

In the continuing story of the Reeds and Zeroes, this time we get Lark's story. Lark has been on the periphery of the last few novels as her bandmates found love however we didn't really know her story. We were introduced to Ryan at the end of While We Waited - he was the new tattoo artist at the Reed's store and didn't date hearing girls. Lark was going to see him for a tattoo and there was some chemistry there. In this instalment we get to see what was going on behind the curtain at the tattoo shop.

What I loved about the book:
- The recognition that prejudices can exist anywhere and sometimes we all need to take a step back and examine our thoughts on matters.
- The cap adventures.
- The tattoos
- The mobile phone chats
- The poker game - that was a seriously brilliant moment in the book

I struggled with the instant love element in this one a little, just because at times it felt like both of them were rushing when the other couples seemed to have more time to find a groove before things got serious on both sides. Having said that, it was still a five star read and it kind of fitted with their personalities so didn't take you out of the story.

Overall a fantastic addition to the story and I cannot wait to find out what happens with Wren.

Lark is a Zero, she is also the sister that wears the gloves and in this story we find out why. It is a sad story but also an uplifting one.

Ryan is the new guy in town, or in the tattoo shop, he is also deaf but no one cares but him. For the most part he is just a part of the crew, I wonder if he was so embraced in the deaf community that he didn’t think anyone hearing could or would want to breach his bubble.

The fact that Lark does is kinda awesome. I really enjoyed this book.

The narration is growing on me.

I've been waiting for Lark and Ryan's story since the last book in the series <3 I just knew it was going to be special.

We have a girl with a tragic past, and a hero that is in no way what's expected. He can't hear, and neither he nor his family think dating a hearing girl is okay. I loved how the person being judged was Lark. It shows how people with disabilities also have prejudices against hearing people.

The couple was so cute together, and Ryan is such a drool-worthy book boyfriend. I adored how sweet and understanding he was of Lark's past, and how he tried to help her. She healed and became a more confident girl.

“You take my breath away on a normal day, but when your cheeks turn pink, I feel like you’ll never give the breath back.”

“Trust me, Lark, he does. He knows you better than anyone ever has.”
“I haven’t known him very long, Melio.”
“The heart has a tendency to get acquainted quickly,” he says.
“I thought that was just a penis and a vagina,” I counter.
“That too… But the heart, that’s the important part, and that boy might just fill up all the space in yours.”

Tammy Falkner fans will this newest release in her Reed Brothers series. We meet Ryan toward the end of While We Waited. He is a new artist at the Reed's shop and also gains the immediate attention of Lark, one of the Zeroes. Ryan is hearing impaired and holds firm to his rule of not dating only hearing impaired women -- that is until he meets Lark. Although the story was not overly hawt, like some of the other books in the series, it was seductively sweet. I adored the story and Ryan and Lark's journey to love.

Falkner definitely has a gift for pulling together unique characters from diverse situations and background to make the reader fall in love. It's amazing to see how she has expanded the series that started out with a family of loyal brothers into a hoard of people who come from various backgrounds, experience real life challenges, but triumph because of their love and the community of people they have rallying behind them.

This series is definitely a favorite and I highly recommend the Reed Brothers if you're looking for your next best read (and several amazing book boyfriends to choose from, too).

3.5 CAP THEIF Stars

I really really adore all the characters in any Reeds story...Ok maybe not samantha and a few other spiteful ones.

I love Ryan! Can't wait for Mick and Wren...it better be them that get together!!!!

Lark I think is my favorite of the zero girls so far. And that's a tough one because they are all amazing. I think I just felt more pulled into this one.

Wooo I still love this series!! This was definitely better than the last one, but I think it just lacked time. The story is in the span of a week, & I felt it might have been too fast paced. But it was a still a nice, cute read. I missed the italicized sign language. I just hope there's a Reeds novella coming soon! (:

Quick read. Love the Reed Brothers and the Zero girls.

Sweet story of Ryan, who is deaf and a tattoo artist at Reed's and Lark, who as all the Zero's do, has baggage and then some. Ms. Faulkner writes such great characters such as Ryan's Mom, Emilio and Marta Vasquez.

Love me some happily ever after!

Still with the reed family here!

This book, I've got to say that I liked a lot! but I'm starting to feel as if the falling is happening too fast anyone else here with me?

What I loved about these series from the beginning, was that fabulous way in which the woman fight off these strong men approaches because they need to be sure they are what they say they are, and they won't give up the fight until they realize they are worth of them.

These two last book, even though they were really really good, they lacked that.
It went kind of like this: "Hey how are you ? oh I'm gonna fight this attraction but then... better just love him instead."

What I did love about this book was that the characters teach us to accept people with their differences and for who they are, we all are different in our own ways, but that is what makes it more interesting!

That scene at the Gym is by far the best! When they each talk about their love ones and the little things that make them who they are.

Also a HUGE important message this book imparts is that you should never let your past define you, and never to give up, there's always people who are rutting for you... You just have to let them in!

So I have binged on Tammy Falkner for the last week. I love her writing!! It's so easy to read. She brings up issues that are hard to talk about and shines the spotlight on them. It's a great opportunity authors have to make people think about things.

This is Lark and Ryan's story. Ryan is a tattoo artist at the Reeds and he is also deaf. Lark is one of the Zeros. She has struggled with depression from the accident that caused her parent's death. She has scars and meets Ryan when she decides to get a tattoo to cover those scars.

They instantly have a spark. I love the banter, love the hostage cap, love the way Lark becomes vulnerable to Ryan. These characters become so much more than whether or not they can hear.

My only complaint is the pace. Holy smokes, I feel like Peck, Star, Fin and now Lark have gotten engaged so quickly after meeting their significant others. I would have liked to see the story develop more and for them get to know each other a bit better than a couple of weeks before deciding to marry someone.

That being said, I love this series. I love how the Reeds are still present and I love seeing what they're up to. I wish I could dive in and become a part of this family.

I lov-lov-lov-lov-love this series. I've probably fangirled over it 50 000x already.
I don't care.

If you've never read any book from the series: we've got this tight-knit family of people with varying disabilities (or sicknesses or tragic pasts), but no one ever sees anyone as their disability, because they've all got great hearts and aren't judgmental and are just all around great people.
They also believe that the bigger the family, the better and so they adopt their family members because blood doesn't matter, the heart does.

Anyway, this book fits into the whole scheme. I'm not going to say why, if you read it, you'll find out.
I enjoyed the book but there was this one thing that bothered me: the extremely quick pace. I know it's a book and not real life but this could've been spaced out a bit. From the first moment it's kind of ... IDK. Everything went a bit too fast.
But otherwise I really enjoyed the story and the characters

This book was so beautiful. Ryan is a tattoo artist who works for the Reed brothers and was born deaf. His parents are both deaf as well. Since his culture is so different from those who are hearing, he's vowed never to date a hearing girl. Enter Lark, a hearing girl who knows sign language from growing up with her sister Peck, who had difficulty talking. Lark wants Ryan but can she convince him to give her a try? I loved how this book was narrated in a way that you could picture all the dialog being signed. And Lark was so adorable in her attempts at getting Ryan's attention. I truly enjoyed this book and also felt like I understand the deaf culture more than I did prior to reading this. This is a definite "must read" for those who love the Reed brothers books.
