What goes around…Comes around. It’s an indisputable law of the universe, but Flagler Beach businessman Joe Moretti Jr. lives his life as if it doesn’t apply to him. When Joe is confronted with news that could potentially topple his empire, he launches a plan to neutralize the threat. Once his scheme is put into action it affects the lives of thirteen strangers in ways Joe couldn’t have conceived. The bizarre chain reaction ripples through Flagler Beach changing the lives of each person it reaches, but will it be powerful enough to teach Joe that his money and influence can’t protect him from the power of Karma?

Full Circle is an entertaining read. It's the kind of book that could be described as a 'page turner'. It's fast-paced and full of interesting characters. I'm a big fan of this author's writing. Having read Living the Dream and No Good Deed, I was looking forward to finding time to read another of his books. He is a gifted storyteller whose writing flows effortlessly, creating realistic characters and suspenseful plots that are always full of exciting twists and turns. There's always plenty of humour in his books as well, which makes them fun to read.
Full Circle is all about karma and how what goes around comes around. There's lots of action and suspense. When you pick up the book be prepared to become hooked within the first few pages. I found that I was looking forward to finding out what happened to each of the characters.
The main character is Joe Moretti, a successful and unscrupulous businessman. Despite his flaws, he's an intriguing man. We follow his story and meet other characters whose stories are somehow connected to his. The chapters are written so that we see the same action from different perspectives. At first, I thought that would become repetitive and involve too much of the same information being duplicated. However, as the story progressed, I came to see that the style was very effective in relaying very important information that was central to the storyline and it all came together very well at the end.
This is quite a complex story, yet told as if it were a simple tale. There are many intricate elements to the story that all revolve around the main theme of cause and effect and how an individual's actions influences their future.
Tim Baker is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. I'm looking forward to reading more of his books.
I thoroughly enjoyed Full Circle. I've read three other books by Tim Baker and am becoming quite a fan.
There's no single main protagonist although much of the book follows Joe Moretti, a very successful businessman. Moretti finds himself in a bit of a jam, and the main plot involves him getting out of that while also expanding his business onto the wrong side of the law.
This main story is deftly interwoven with the stories of numerous other characters. Many chapters end with one character interacting with a new character whose story is introduced in the next chapter. This reminded me of Michael Faber's literary novel, "The Crimson Petal and the White," an excellent novel, which introduced its main characters this way.
Full Circle is very enjoyable and I can highly recommend it.
This isn't a long read, so I'd think it would make a great book for vacation week or just some light, weekend park type reading. It isn't an edge of your seat suspenseful thriller, but you do find yourself looking forward to the way the characters turn out to be connected to each other. Mr. Baker's inclusion of local Flagler Beach geography and landmarks is endearing and helps set the easy flow of the storyline from one character to the next...and back again!
This book didn't feel like a four star but it definitely deserved more than three. I found myself coming back to it wanting to know what happened next.
Tim Baker’s latest novel, "Full Circle", is a story about how our choices affect others, sometimes others we don’t even know, in unexpected ways. What does one do when your boss thinks you owe him a favor and asks you to commit murder? Mark Sullivan is faced with the choice and what he does sets in motion surprising events, while his boss, Joe Moretti’s choices set other events in motion, involving other people, and all these paths cross in some very entertaining ways.
As in all of Baker’s books several seemingly unrelated characters weave their way through the intricate details of plot with delightfully entertaining antics. A recovering alcoholic, a single mother trying to make ends meet, a self-centered contractor, an over-protective father, and a homeless woman, who seem to have little in common, find their karmic paths crossing in unexpected ways, but it all comes together when they come "Full Circle".
Tim Baker does in 200 pages what many big name novelists can't achieve with lots more pages: he keeps you on the edge of your chair and consistently keeps you wondering what will happen next, moving from one crisis to the next, while constantly keeping you guessing as the twists go on and on. I picked this up last February at the Amelia Island Book Festival, and while I expect to get decent reading from local authors, I was blown away by Baker's style, his character development and his plot nuances. I already started another of Tim's books, "Living the Dream."
