I used to deliver pizza. I was pretty good at it, too. I mean, it's not that hard, but if I'm not going to brag, who is, right? Anyways, so I'm delivering pizza while I'm in college, and my boss has been in the pizza industry like six years. He's supposed to graduate from college this year, and I ask him, what are you going to do after college? We're all supposed to go out and conquer the world right after college, so this guy has to have some kind of plan.

He looked at me like I was delusional.

"I'm a writer, man."

Those four words changed my life more so than anything else ever spoken to me.
I'd always written, since I was twelve participating in online-wrestling forums in which you acted out your character. I wrote because it came naturally. Never once, in the entirety of my nineteen years did I think that writing could be a career though, until a Pizza Sage said those four words to me.

So what did I do? I went home and wrote a short story and immediately understood that I was the greatest writer to ever touch a keyboard. I brought it to the Pizza Sage and he told me what anyone could have told me--it was horrible. I might be dumb, probably am, but I'm also tenacious.

I spent the next seven years writing almost every day. My first novel grew to the length of 40,000 words, then I threw it away. My second novel grew to 140,000 words. I didn't throw it away, but it was rejected about 50 times by agents. My next novel ended up at around 55,000 words, which I showed to a few friends and shelved. Then I wrote Dead Religion, which is the only reason I have an author page at Amazon.

I have had four short stories published, paid and unpaid. 'Effects May Vary' won an award that was voted on by readers, which was pretty cool.

I'm currently getting my Masters in Business at the University of Georgia's Terry School of Business. I'm doing this in order to not deliver pizzas but still keep the lights on. I have a girlfriend who will soon be my fiancé, and after ten years, I imagine she's ready for that title.

I want to own a yacht.

Good idea...poor execution

After 3 books I expected the pace to liven up a little. Instead, the story is developing even slower. We’ve been given “way” too much info on the main characters...so much so that I found myself just paging through the unnecessary descriptions and dialog. There are good ideas here, interesting concepts, but they get bogged down in the authors constant need to keep putting in mounds of filler. My curiosity to find out the end of the story has been overridden by my boredom. I’m quitting the series.

The Nemesis Series has become an addiction I can't get enough of.

Book Three picks up exactly where Book Two left off, the world has changed, and it started in the small town of Grayson Georgia. From the sky, a creature more powerful than anything imagined possible landed on Earth, from below ground she is bringing the rest of her kind to life. Our government's first line of defense has failed so they bring in Kenneth Marks, with the hope he can remedy the situation. Bryan, Michael, and Julie remain caught in the middle of this war, unable to escape and unable to do anything to stop it. Morena’s time is coming and when it does, the Earth will never be the same.

I didn't think it was possible to like anything more than David's Singularity Series, but I absolutely love Nemesis so much more. There are so many times while I read this Series, where the descriptions and events are so well defined, I can actually picture it in my mind as if I'm watching a movie. I wish the SYFY Channel (or a similar network) would turn this series into a movie, or better yet a series like they did with Haven (which was unfortunately cancelled, despite the series increasing fan base). If Nemesis did become a movie (or television series), I would not only watch it more than once, but would certainly purchase it. Providing of course they stay as true to the storyline as possible.

Reading Nemesis has become a sort of addiction that I can't get enough of, I not only finish reading one book to find an ever increasing desire to read it again as I wait for the next book in the series to come out. While I'm not a big fan of cliffhanger style endings, you find yourself pondering upcoming events in a similar fashion to watching a television series while you wait for the next season to arrive, only in this case it's for the next book.

No noticeable typos or errors in sentence structure, the characters were well developed, the storyline was well thought out, the events occurring at a pace keeping the reader captivated to the end. Highly Recommended..

I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for a review. David Beers is an exceptional writer. I read this book in one sitting, I absolutely couldn't put it down. There's so much I love about this author's books, and Nemisis 3 is my favorite so far. It's a sci-fi thriller with rich, well-developed characters. And an alien that you should hate but can't because you become just as much invested in her story as in the humans' story. I think that's what I like best about Beers' novels. Nothing is black and white, there are no two dimensional "good guys" and "bad guys". Beers makes you question what's right and what's wrong, is it possible to go too far even when you believe the survival of your species is on the line? Then of course there's the breath-taking story lines that leave you hungry for more. I highly recommend this series. I'm now waiting very impatiently for book 4!

Good Scify/Thriller This is book Three in what will be a five or six book series which I received free from the author but I would have gladly purchased it. Book Three picks up right where book 2 exactly left off. I love how the story clears up some things (by alternating between past and present) yet makes you ask more questions and want more. Kenneth Marks the man behind manipulating Rigley and Will for his own means (fun) is featured more which explains why Rigley is so broken, and we are introduced what seems to be another entity. Is the new entity here to help Morena or is it Earth's salvation? However, it also shows what the mind is capable of doing when it needs to survive. I would love to see this made into a mini-series. I am now rushing to read book 4.

As in Book 2 the story continues to show how the characters got to this point with a lot of background on them. Just when the story was getting to the climax I tried to push the forward button on my e-reader multiple times wanting it not to end there. Well I expect the next book to be awesome just like in ALL his other series but the wait is going to drive me crazy. Only suggestion would have been to combine book 2 and 3 into one book and make this story a trilogy.

I received this book to read before release in return for an honest review.

I honestly loved this book. To start off with, you begin in the middle of the story. As the book progresses, you are experiencing the rest of the story from other characters' points of view. It reminded me of a whodunit type of book. I must admit, I didn't realize who much I liked those until I read this one. I was very upset to see the ending and am excited for his next one!

The alien power known as Morena has not only landed but defeated initial attempts to eradicate her.And now her children are terraforming the world to her liking. Meanwhile, amongst earth's foremost defenders, one man seems to revel in this new powerful intrusion whilst another is changing... And who or what are the little grey men?
You really will not want to miss this third installment of David Beers innovative series.

"Oh No" were the only two words I had when I reached the last page, I was not ready for the book to end! Book Three of the Nemesis series was even better than the last two; the characters were built upon, learned to love some and reinforced dislike of others.

This story does not read as a complete stand-alone story BUT within the series this book was FANTASTIC; filled with loads of interesting and complex characters heading towards a nail-biting ending.

I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for a review.
