Raven Paige is different. Where everyone else around her was horrified when they learned of the goings on at the now infamous Strictland Academy, and appalled by what Emma Thompson had endured during her long months of captivity, Raven was... compelled.
Fascinated.
Excited, even.
The tales of sexual sadism, humiliation and depravity awakened a need within Raven; one as dark as the wings of the bird for which she was named. Secretly, she visits the so-called Houses of Depravity, where she is a silent observer of those who live out their deepest BDSM fantasies and desires. There, she witnesses things she wants to experience herself; things that heat her blood and tighten her loins. Her hunger to submit grows to the point of obsession.
When she is of legal age, she contacts someone who might be able to help her; the founder of Strictland, whom she had met previously in one of the Houses. It's a lengthy process, but after an interminable wait, Raven gets her wish: she is offered a contract of submission to serve not one, but two men – brothers; Henry and Kendrick Albright.
Exceptionally rich, handsome and even titled, the Albright brothers have it all; a mansion, an army of servants and even a private plane. Henry has a fetish for the Victorian era and Kendrick is an incredibly creative sadist... Raven is about to see her fantasies fulfilled at last.
But reality is so often different to what takes place in the imagination. Her excitement turns to dread when she discovers that the contract she signed was actually one of marriage to Henry, and that she is now utterly at the Albrights' mercy. For at least the next three years, there will be no escape. Henry, Kendrick and even any servants they desire will have access to Raven's body; to do with it as they choose.
Raven has wanted to experience humiliation, pain and degradation for years; but now that she's arrived at the brothers' mansion, is she in over her head? Will Henry and Kendrick come to care for her as a person... as a wife, or is she merely to be their plaything, to be used and discarded as they see fit?
Warning: this book is a continuation of the Darkness Series (Book One is Strictland Academy, Book Two is Emma's Corner). It is NOT a typical romance. It is extremely dark, involves harsh BDSM elements, ménage, dubious consent, body modification fantasy, needle/piercing play, and graphic sexual content. It contains elements of the erotic horror genre. DO NOT PURCHASE if this type of material disturbs you.
I’m a native Californian gone 'wild', and had the opportunity to travel the globe and discover the world through the eyes of both a Marine Intelligence specialist and a BDSM lifestyler. I left the service to go into pediatric hospice nursing and grief counseling, eventually working as a marriage and family therapist for those involved in alternative lifestyle development. This experience has allowed me to gain unique inspiration for my books and provide realistic plots and relatable characters.
My first book, The Game Plan, was published in 2012 and opened the door to the now-booming world of Age-Play literature. Since that time, I’ve devoted my ‘spare’ time to writing, researching, community involvement, and private and group pro bono counseling in deviant behavior, alternative lifestyle, and addiction recovery.
I was formally ‘dungeon trained’ as a Domme before discovering my submissive side when I joined the service. My scenarios are pulled primarily from either personal experience or observation, including spending time in clubs as the safety/medical officer. My multi-faceted background allows me to glean from many avenues and provides a unique and intelligent literary experience through elements of fantasy and fiction. I also address the questions and psychology of the lifestyle in a manner that is fun and informative, and based on 'the real deal'.
I live with my husband, musician, and fellow-author, John Hayse, and two border collies in southern California. We practice a 24/7 D&S relationship with speckles of AP (and many trips to Build-A-Bear), and happily spend every moment together that we can. My hobbies include my puppies, hiding my vanilla salt-water taffy where John can't find it, exotic art, collecting inspirational trinkets, and developing my own paddle line. You can also see me as a featured author/instructor in professional conference settings and as a Sexpert for kinkyliterature.com.
Exquisite addition to The Darkness Series. Raven is a young virgin who fantasizes about the depraved debauchery in the House of Depravity. She wishes she could experience the same erotic pleasures heavily used in the Strictland Academy. Be careful of what you wish for… Raven is sexy, young and innocent. She is also fertile which makes her ideal for Henry and Kendrick Albright. These two brothers offer her a chance to experience deviant pleasures. When presented with a contract, Raven eagerly signs it with her eyes wide shut. One should always read the fine print. Whisked away to Merry Ole England, Raven is wedded and about to be sexually enslaved.
The BDSM fantasy kinks in this story are phenomenal. Ms. Hayse does a fantastic job with all the dark kinky fetishes I enjoy. There is ageplay, enema play, bondage, piercing, D/s and more. The focus on Raven's tight little pucker is delicious. The descriptions of Raven's defiling leading to her cries and begging of mercy is music to my ears. Raven is a bit bratty and it is nice to see Henry and Kendrick put her in her place. This story does warn readers of being dark. I would rate it a medium dark. This is because Henry and Kendrick are actual quite sweet. This is an erotica with more romantic dub-con mood than dark cruel sadistic hopelessness. The happily ever after hints at a possible delicious follow up with more ageplay. Ms. Hayse is my go to ageplay author so I am hungrily awaiting the next book in this series from her sexually creative mind.
The sex in here is graphic which is thrilling. It arouses the reader and makes them either reach for their partner or a search for a toy. The m/f/m formation is well done and I like how Henry and Kendrick balance each other. They are ruthless men who know what they want and they are unapologetic about it. Still, they do possess tender feelings for Raven which is why it makes this story so good. They may want to fulfill all of Raven's dark desire, but only on their terms. Raven definitely bit off more than she can chew if her red bottom is any indicating. Personally, I would have enjoyed a bit more thrashing of Raven's naughty bottom. The anal scenes were my favourite and I loved her humiliations. If Raven appears again in another book featuring ADBL and a strict nanny, that would be delightful. I would not say no to some graphic f/f play either, especially with Raven as the submissive bottom.
There are a couple of threads in this story which seemed to have petered out. It made no sense for Raven's aunt to accompany her to England. There are also statements about what happens to her aunt and uncle. It would be nice to have her witness some of their punishments. Perhaps more to come in following books. This series is one of my favourite dark erotic romances with dub-con themes. Recommended for kinky erotica readers who enjoy dub-con, piercing and anal play.
FANTASY AND REALITY WERE NOT THE SAME THING. REALITY WAS MUCH, MUCH BETTER I have read all three of the Darkness series and if you haven’t read the first story, Strickland Academy, you may be lost on many of the references to that place and what all went on there. Raven knew about Strickland and was sad that it was no longer in operation; she craved the depravity that happened to the girls that were housed there. Raven is a true masochist and loves going to the Houses of Depravity and watching. Henry has made arrangements to bring Raven to New Britain to live out her fantasy, but she will also be under the control of his brother, Kendrick Albright. This story will keep the reader on the edge of their seat with the severe punishments, medical play, anal play, mental play along with some mystery and suspense. This is not a sweet domestic discipline story, this is a dark, dystopian world with new laws and if you have enough money, you can make new rules and bypass the government. It is a world where you can be molded into a perfect creature of luscious depravity.
When reading the prologue I started wondering if I was really sure I wanted to read this book, but I was quickly drawn into wondering what was going to happen to Raven instead. Raven was constantly longing to be a part of the twisted debauchery of sexual and physical sensation she was seeing at the Houses of Depravity she was visiting, which was a life of pain, degradation, and loss of all control. On Raven's eighteenth birthday she secretly contacted the New British foreigner and expressed her interested in exploring the darker realm of pain and pleasure that she was longing for. After the passing away of her father the foreigner asked her to go live with her aunt and uncle so he would always know where to find her. Her aunt and uncle treated Raven horribly while she stayed with them. Finally Raven met Kendrick Albright, who was Henry Albright brother. Kendrick was there to let Raven know that Henry wanted to bring her to his home to marry but apart of the contract that she first had to sign would be for her to agree to being trained to enjoy pain and degradation and giving up all her control. Kendrick also informed her that he would be apart of all of this. This was a good book fast-paced with some areas hard for me to read because of the way they were training Raven but the authors did a good job in keeping this book both light in some parts but also dark in others which kept my interest. There is so much that happens in this book that it is hard for me to put it all down here, I can only say that in the end it turned out not what I was expecting when I first started to read it and I in fact what to read more of this series and from these authors.
I am positively thrilled to finally see a story that encompass as many of the BDSM elements as this one does. Most stories that claim BDSM genres dabble in it and usually only encompass the more well known areas like flogging, medical play, and restraints, this one also delved into body modification, fire play, breath play and so much more. It was very glad to see that there were times she fought back as she wasn't sure what she wanted because you can't have true sadism if the recipient is always enjoying the experience after all. I would also love to see what is in lotion #3 and where can I buy it, LOL. My only complaint is that in the prologue where they explained the setting of the story in a futuristic dystopia, the concept of men being scarce and a class of men known as the "rejected" was a little confusing. Usually, when you have a scarcity, that resource IE. Men becomes a rare commodity fought over. This story didn't seem to follow along with that usual circumstance within the given setting. Otherwise, I loved this rare gem because of the intensity and all the more unheard of BDSM elements it incorporates.
Raven's Cry is the third book of "The Darkeness Series" and give us more information regarding the Strictland Academy founders. Different from the previous ones, Raven's desires is to have the full experience that was offered to the girls before her. She contacted the headmaster Judas and he refers here to another person overseas. She agrees to marry Henry and his brother Kendrick but she does not pay attention to the many details and ends up helpless in the hand of two sadists. What I like about this book is that she truly enjoys everything that is done to her. She craves the pain and pleasure and the complete the submission to their will. This is a dark story but has e get ending. I wish the author writes more about this complex characters.
Three times. I read this book three times from cover to cover. Raven is a woman who knows that she wants the dark side of sexuality. The side no one ever talks about. She visits the street houses and peeks inside to see just a taste. Raven will be taken away and married to someone who can fulfill these fantasies to the highest. Not many books make me feel like I am the character and am willing to jump into the pages and never come out. This one grabbed me from the first words. It is also not for the faint of heart. There is sadism and masochism, extreme physical exams and tears. Yes my perfect book. Bravo Mrs Hayse and may I have another! 5 stars all the way !
Raven's Cry is an intriguing addition to the darkness series. The story is very cleverly tied in to the previous books, but stands on its own. Raven is a young woman who yearns for the depravity that existed at Strictland Academy. With the underlying theme of "be careful what you ask for," the story follows Raven through a terrifying and painful journey. The author kept me in touch with Raven's tumultuous emotions as she felt cared for one moment and questioned the sanity of those around her the next. Is Raven in danger? Read this entertaining story to the end to find out.
While this book is part of a series I haven't read the rest of the series. This story can stand on it's own. It is set in an different reality of the possible future and is a dark time. Raven has desires that can be considered illegal. The brothers Kendrick and Henry also have dark desires but they also have the money to acquire what they want. Together they journey along a path that seems dark yet there is love and the giving of what is craved.
