A Steamy Hot Alpha Biker Romance Series

Mariah Brannigan is as beautiful a woman as she is talented. Maybe that’s why she’s being stalked. When she and her band play at Baltimore bars frequented by the notorious Robinson Street Bikers, biker captain Nelson Primeaux will simply not take no for an answer.

Just when Mariah never wants anything to do with another biker again, a chance encounter with a Good Samaritan and off-the-hook hot biker by the name of Cody Dallas changes all that. He always seems to be at the right place and at the right time, namely in the middle of her heart, and saves her from Nelson’s clutches.

However, Mariah learns that Cody’s club, the Black Riders, are major rivals of Nelson’s very powerful club. When she hears Cody is a player with the ladies and his romantic courtship is just one play of many to rule the streets of Baltimore, she’s devastated.

Can the unbelievably good-looking and seemingly tender Cody Dallas prove to Mariah that he’s a biker with a true heart?

I guess I'm back in the famous reading slump. Uggh.

I'm sure I'd have enjoyed the story more, weren't it for that, but here we are. That's also the sole reason I gave 3 stars. I can only hope my mood passes soon. :(

After finding this book free on ibooks, I was intrigued by the premise but from the beginning of the book, my hopes were dashed. I found the main character Mariah Brannigan painful to read about. She was self-centred, ditsy and made stupid mistake after stupid mistake.

There were many occasions that she threw herself into danger (against people she had no hope to beat) or was just disgustingly aggressive. She was sex-obsessed and frustrating. The plot was sub-par and boring, the only saving grace was Cody, although even his character had worrying flaws. It was a big read flag when he deleted Mariah's number and refused to talk to her because he found out that she may have slept with an enemy biker, despite admitting that he had been a player before Mariah.

I would not recommend this book at all, a major let down that I'm glad I didn't pay for.

This is a quick listen and the narration was pleasurable however I didn’t feel a connection to the main characters Mariah and Cody much. Everything happened on such a whirlwind that it felt a bit rushed and forced in fast forward. There were times when I was hooked and there was a bit of suspense, shortly after we went back to the same style as before. Overall I am happy I listened to this book.

***Short and Sweet Mini Review***

This story had a lot of potential, but it just fell short of the mark.
My main issue isn’t with the characters, though I wanted to smack Mariah a few times, it’s with the lack of editing and proofreading. The author hit every single topic that was in the description, but the flow was just off. Sentences ended abruptly or were written in such a way that I had to go back and re-read them because they didn’t make sense. Then there was the fact that we are introduced to a friend of Cody’s as Andy and then later in that same chapter he’s all of a sudden Adam. Normally, I can brush things like this aside, but there were just too many in this story that ignoring it wasn’t an option and significantly decreased my enjoyment of the story.
Other than the editing/proofreading thing, Mariah and Cody were decent characters, but that’s about it. Mariah was all over the place with her emotions and reactions, the best word to describe it is spastic. Does the stress of having a stalker play into it? Yes, but some of the things she did had me rolling my eyes. Cody had the protective alpha male thing going on, but other than the fact that he rode a bike and said he was with an motorcycle club he really didn’t give off a biker vibe to me at all. Their relationship falls into the realm of insta-lust and their interactions just felt awkward. As far as this being an MC story...eh. It falls into the MC light end of the spectrum. We are told bikers are involved and they do sketchy things, but never get to be apart of either club.

Note to future readers: Stalked is actually a short story and there is another book included with it that is by a different author. I did not read the second book.

Stalked by Roxie Odell is the first book in the Black Rivers MC Series.

We meet Mariah and Cody in this steamy read.
Mariah is the lead singer of a band that has been playing local bars. She has unfortunately captured the eye of Nelson Primeaux the captain of the Robinson Street Bikers. He won’t take no for an answer and has started stalking her.

On the way home after a show her car breaks down in a bad part of town, Cody Dallas comes to her rescue and eventually asks her out. They have a very hot connection and move into a relationship. Things start to get worse with Nelson, which causes Cody to go into protective mode. He is a member of Nelson’s rival gang the Black Riders. Mariah ends up hearing some things about Cody that cause some doubts in her mind about his intentions.
He has a history of being a player. Is he really in love with her or is he using her?

Mariah’s feistiness and strength were great, even when the opponents could literally squash her. We do end in a cliffhanger that leaves you with many questions. I really enjoyed Stalked and I can’t wait to read Ambush. There is also another book that comes with Stalked: Alpha Biker from Lexy Timms.

This first book about bikers has you going at it hot and heavy once the sexual foreplay begins. Mariah is the lead singer in a band that plays at a lot of biker bars and for some reason one particular biker has been stalking her. One night after a gig her car breaks down and she is helped by a rival biker gang’s leader. Comes to find out her previous encounter with another biker from another gang has decided to mess with her car. The biker that helps her alongside the road is also maximum hot and he shows her how she should be treated. Her scenes with Cody rival no others when it comes to hot and heavy in all your imagined places. Can’t wait to read the next edition to see where they take their antics to next.

Not something I would read again. It was ok. Mariah had a stalker with a long reach in a biker club. She fell in love with a man from a different biker club. He did everything to protect her. There is a HEA. Sorry the best I could do.

Fast paced and sexy!

My kindle is still smoking. Cole & Mariah have that instant chemistry we mere humans can only dream of. I loved this book. It had just enough without being over the top. Going to have to find more by Roxie Odell.

Two different stories

STALKED By ROXIE ODELL
4.5 stars
Mariah is a singer in a band. They play mostly bars and lounges. On her way home her car breaks down and a motorcycle pulls up behind her. She thinks it's the biker who has been harassing her but it's a different biker. Cody helps her and then asks her out. She knows there's a connection between them but she is still having problems with the other guy.
This is a short story told only in Mariah's point of view. Sex. Fights. Misunderstandings.

Mariah Brannigan is the singer for her band, Gravel. They mainly play at bars frequented by bikers. When Nelson Primeaux, president of Robinson Street Bikers, asks her out and she says no, he goes a little crazy. Cody Dallas is president of a rival club, the Black Riders. After saving her when her car breaks down, they find they're very attracted to each other. Can Cody keep Mariah safe, or will Nelson get his revenge for being turned down.

This was a quick short story. Rosie did a great job. I found myself wanting more of everything. I couldn't connect with the characters as much as I wanted to because there wasn't really any background on them. Mariah was pushed to her limits by Nelson but I didn't find her weak at all. I could definitely identify with her to a point as far as having a stalker. I thought she handled the situation well. Cody was very protective of her from their first encounter. He seemed like a strong, sexy, alpha male. This was everything s short story should be and I'd love to read more by this author.
