Nothing beyond conventional wisdom

"Take a deep breath and slowly count to ten whenever you feel angry or upset with someone. This makes sure that you won’t say anything you might regret later." If that advice was engrained by your mother, this book will not offer much new. It may help an adolescent still struggling with the most basic emotional issues that cause negative social interactions. For that person, the book might help. Every one else should try alternative sources.

What do others need and what motivates them?

I think this book reminded me that we all too often go about our business with blinders on isolated within ourselves. To be successful we need to consider what others need and want as well, ideally getting the same consideration from them. I think if we all did this the world would be a better place.

Good for tweens and teens

It was full of basics and I would recommend it to teens. The caffeine info was new to me so that helped. I chose a five due to how helpful I believe it would be for tweens and teens.
