There’s a reason I hate Oliver Beckett: he’s a huge, massive pr*ck.
London’s hottest new bad boy chef is a panty-dropper. He burns his way through party girls’ bedrooms as fast as he blazes around his military-precision kitchen.

He’s a face from my past I never thought I’d see again. The tattooed smooth-talking British exchange student from five years past. The one who brought me in like a moth to flame for one night of firsts... before he left me behind forever.

The one who almost had my v-card.

Except he’s not in my past anymore. Now I’m stepping off a plane in London to start my new job in his kitchen. London, where we’re moving because my mother is marrying his father.

Yeah, not just my boss. That smug, arrogant jerk is about to be my stepbrother.

He might be all grown up now - gorgeous and demanding and wildly successful. But what happens when the man who never hears no comes up against the one woman who won’t take his bullsh*t? The one that won’t submit.

He wants me to beg him for it, but I won’t.

I mean, I can’t, right? That would be so wrong.

So deliciously wrong.

I think I’m in big trouble.

Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Aubrey Irons enjoys writing about bold, sassy, and intelligent women and the hot, cocky, and quite typically forbidden bad boys who love and lust for them. Gripping stories, guaranteed happy ever afters, and LOTS of heat.

In the real world, Aubrey is kept plenty entertained by her own favorite bad boy husband, their two adorable kiddos, and the world's most ill-behaved puppy.

3.5 stars cuz it didn't piss me off...JK!!! This is definitely worth the read. But I will never be able to buy a cucumber again.

The whole forbidden element of step-sibs fell flat in this. The parents weren't married, didn't end up getting married, the H/h met first 5 years ago, and both H/h were mid-20s. So...yeah...not so much of a taboo factor. But that never stopped my enjoyment of the book. Maybe an eye-roll here and there, but it didn't matter to the over all push-pull of the plot.

The screamy-douchey scene in the kitchen right before they go to the pub wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. I just kept thinking of yummy, tatted out JMJ (Josh Mario John - Google him if you're lost ;) with Gordon Ramsey's mouth and it worked just fine for me ;)

I made Chicken Tikka Masala after I read this. Curry is awesome, but Tikka Masala...THAT shit makes the world go round. I may even make Lamb Vindaloo tomorrow. (*food-gasm*) Sorry...I had to wipe drool off my chin.

The H...so nice when he's totally about the h, even while resisting. That's code for no OW ;) The H is a sexy, cocky dirty-talker. Yum! And he gets as good as he gives even when he has the upper hand.

I loved the h in this book. Sassy, strong willed, outwardly confident...SHE MAKES HIM WORK FOR IT. FUCKING. SWOON. I so miss this in the doormats that permeate the market. Maybe I give the h too much credit because the competition often is the detestable doormat. But I don't care. It was REFRESHING.

But the end with the ring...that was a little left field for my tastes. It actually knocked it down a star for me. I felt the author wasn't willing to put the time in to bridge the end and epilogue to the plot's climax. It's still a great read.

Safety gang: this one's for you ;)

I really think that the whole stepbrother/ sister theme is not working for me.
I like Aubrey Irons books to a certain extent, she is a new author that is finding her voice on the market and her military (sort of) books I like.
This theme not so much because the terms are so overused and do not really reflect the reality.

Again I was faced with a 23 year old woman - Chloe - who must relocate with her mother because she doesn't have a career or studies or job, oh and her mother is getting married in London, FYI. So the mother is not married yet and I am saying that because it's one of the aspects that made me cringe reading the book.

The future husband happens to be the father of the boy -Oliver - who played her heart as teenagers and this is the time when things are getting interesting.

Oliver has to be one of the rudest, boldest, infuriating to no end bad boy/ character that you can read about. He is so crass that made me frown. I am happy Chloe managed to give back as good as she got from him.
In the end he didn't have any redeeming qualities about him to compensate for the attitude and that was sad because God it was painful to read at times.

Chloe besides sass and looks didn't have much going on at 23 to be running with mommy to London.

I guess the intention with the book was not to give depth and meaning to the story but to make it hot. Mission accomplished. The scenes between Oliver and Chloe are hot. Even the ones where they are both left wanting. Holy mother of all cucumbers that was one happy cucumber in the story! But the rest, not so much.
So I am going back to the whole marriage/ siblings issue here.
The whole time Oliver and Chloe felt guilty because they were attracted to each other and "they were step siblings".

Sorry Aubrey Irons, the parents were not even married, but shagging, no mention of the wedding, besides they were both adults never grew up together in a family so the whole "step" relationship was pointless and annoying.

How many times I had to read about the attraction Oliver had for his sister/ ups sorry, stepsister, really? Cue my eye rolling. It was not believable.
Better said it was as believable as Chloe's competency in the pastry kitchen. She just went in after being late and started baking. Hmmm, just like that. What about a talk with the chef about the menu, pastry menu? Or how about get tested on her skills or something? Since she had no studies in baking and that was a famous restaurant after all, The Time was checking it out.
But then again, this was a forbidden love affair so no point in making sense.

This is for sure not my type of book that I like to read but the sex scenes (I cannot believe I am saying this) made it worth 2 stars because they were hot.
The rest barely a step star

You know what they say about certain food, right? That's aphrodisiac? Well, imagine a cocky chef with a British accent! Mmm, yummy.

Take a pinch of broken past relationship, add a spoonful of twisted emotions, including unresolved ire and unfulfilled lust, and whip it together until you get a fun, naughty dessert that will put a big smile on your face.
It was unbelievable the amount of filthy banter that came from Oliver! He's the boldest, most infuriating bad boy you can imagine. And he's got crass moves to make even a Madame blush. Yet the best thing is that baker-Chloe is sassy and defiant and always responds to fire with a hot fire of her own. The sparks fly in here, people!

Now, what about actual friction, like ardent, heavy-breathing, no-clothes action between them? It takes its time to show up, but don't fret. Until the big fireworks, there's plenty of teasing and excitement to put the firefighters on alert.

Oliver is so crude and angry sometimes that it took me aback, almost wanting to slap the bad attitude out of him. And I would have appreciated some redeeming qualities or thoughtful dialogues that showed some deeper connection. Yet he shows some signs of stardom: glorious cook, passionate, British accent with a penchant for dirty talk. And don't get me started on the cucumber. Oh, no, that's not an euphemism...

That kitchen was a battlefield and I enjoyed every naughty word that boiled there. I loved the explosive finale though not so much how it was all wrapped up. I found it disconcertingly rushed and over the top. Though the very last bit was very satisfying. This author's stories are a guaranteed entertainment.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, and I don't regret it ;-)

~ARC Given in exchange for an honest review~

I really wasn't sure what to expect with this story, as although I am a huge fan of Aubrey Irons and her Soldiers of Fortune series. I'm not a huge fan of Stepbrother stories in general, (although I have read a couple of them, and enjoyed them for the most part.) However I really enjoyed this story, and to be totally honest I didn't think I would. I also went into it not expecting to like the cocky and some what crude Oliver and to love Chloe, but it turned out to be the opposite for me. I loved Oliver with all his brash, cockiness (which is something Aubrey Irons always writes really well) and didn't particularly like Chloe. Mainly because of the mixed signals she gave out, and I did feel a little bad for Oliver sometimes, especially with the way she reacted whenever the Stepbrother link was mentioned. As lets be truthful they are pretty much as far from Step siblings as you can get.

Although by the end my feelings toward Chloe had changed and the story itself, was fun, enjoyable and hot. Especially the scene in the wine cellar and I can honestly say I will never look at a cucumber in quite the same way or be able to stifle a grin if I ever see cucumber salad on a menu!!

Overall though I would happily recommend this story to others, and especially if your a fan of Aubrey Irons, and/or Stepbrother romance in general, but I think anyone not a fan or hasn't yet tried the genre will be pleasantly surprised by this one. :-)

Can we say, "cucumber?" Lol!! :-) I enjoyed reading about good old England and all the local spots that I knew nothing about, but wish I was there. Since, the two main characters work in a kitchen. I find myself hungry reading about all the delicious foods and sweets that were whipped up. I must say, I love how the English talk, which is re-flexed in the book.

I'm generally a fan of this author and have read many books that I really liked. This one, not so much, though.

The hero (Oliver) is an arrogant asshole throughout almost the entire book .
The heroine (Chloe) simply has no backbone whatsoever and lets Oliver practically play her from day one. He is incredibly rude towards her, ignores her personal space and enjoys making her uncomfortable whenever he can, especially with bystanders around. I would've done a shitload more than just slap him once for a crude comment!

The heroine's mother has a 'small' drinking habit, making her completely dis-illusioned from any reality and the hero's father is simply a domineering, bossy full time drunk that gives a shit about his son, his fiancée and step-daughter (but still wants them to live in his place in London, even though just two weeks after arriving there, he

And in the end, the heroine shows up 6 months later, after running without so much as a glance back towards the man she loved, who also lost everything he had that day, only to show up at his new restaurant, to propose to him!?!

So even though the writing was decent like always in Aubrey's books, the whole story lacked depth. So much, that even the "stepbrother / stepsister" - dynamic kind of lost its focus. It also felt as if the last chapters had been incredibly rushed, as if the author wanted to finish up the story super quick in the end (where it was paced rather slowly in the first chapters).

So, sadly only a 2 star rating from me for this book. Which is kind of disappointing, since I've read other books by this author already and thoroughly enjoyed them. This one though, not so much, thanks to two highly annoying main characters and a flat storyline.

Oliver and Chloe are such a fun couple! This author really knows how to draw the reader in with vivid details, well-written characters, witty banter, and teasing chemistry that (finally!) leads to smoking hot sexy times. The stepbrother/stepsister thing is not really a big deal, as they knew each other before their parents were married. Lots of fun to read; will definitely read this one again.

Awesome Book

This was a cute but erotic storyline. Both Oliver and Chloe had awesome and realistic personalities. They click together like pieces of a puzzle. Love the epilogue about possible hook up with mom Laura and Danny. The book was addictive and exciting!

This is the first book I have read by Aubrey Irons and I have to say I found it really good. I love how the authors of these step brother novels make it sound like it is taboo with these step siblings or soon to be step siblings with feelings for each other are taboo. Technically they are not taboo because there is not blood relation there. But damn the stories they write, draw you in and make you believe anything. Well Aubrey Irons did her job as an author. She drew me into Oliver and Chloe's story and had me panting for my chance at Oliver. :) I would say that this story was well deserving of its 5 stars. Not only was I drawn into the story, I was kept there till I finished the book. The story line and the characters all did their part of making me feel every emotion they felt. Not to mention I wanted to hurt Oliver's dad for being a PRICK!!! Awesome book and one you all need to read if you are 18 and up.

Chloe had her reasons for not liking the massive prick known as Oliver Becket. He hurt her really bad when lived with her and her mother as an foreign exchange student, then left and no word from him. Then Chloe finds out on very short notice that her mother is marrying his father and they are moving to London. Chloe will have to put up with London’s hottest new bad boy chef who is a panty-dropper. For 4 months till she can return back to school. He’s a face from her past that sheI never thought she would see again. The tattooed smooth-talking British exchange student from five years past. The one who brought her in like a moth to flame for one night of firsts... before he left her behind forever. She was just glad that she didn't give into him and say yes, or her would have taken her v-card. Oliver is not in her past now because she is now in London and is going to be working for him in his kitchen. Yeah, not just her boss. That smug, arrogant jerk is about to be her stepbrother.

Oliver Beckett may be all grown up now - gorgeous and demanding and wildly successful. But what happens when the man who never hears no comes up against the one woman who won’t take his bullshit? The one that won’t submit. Oliver wants to make her beg for him, he knows it isn't right since they are soon to step siblings. He realizes once she steps off the plane that he is in big trouble. He wants her still and he does what he can to get her to submit to him, but she is having no part of it, even though he makes it hard for her not to.

Can they resist each other since they live under the same roof and on same floor of the house? Not to mention they work together.

Read the book and see why it is a 5 star book! You will not be disappointed.

Title: Cockney (stepbrother romance)
Author: Aubery Irons
Pages: 400+
(Given an Arc for an honest review)

Authors writing style: I have fallen in love with this authors writing. The stories are very in-depth, the characters are well developed and allow you to connect to them and the events that are taking place. There are several points in this story where my tummy had that warm fuzzing feeling. The story didn’t have a lot of repeating lines or scenes. When the story was done, I still wanted more even though it is a complete and standalone story. It was a story that I didn’t want to put down but had to in order to sleep. I will be reading this story again and would encourage anyone to read it.
Overview: (may contain spoilers). Chloe decided that college was not for her. She didn’t want to be a lawyer; she wanted to be a baker. Her mother, Laura didn’t approve of this since it reminded her of Chloe’s dad who was a baker. When Chloe came home from college, she was greeted with a surprise. Her mom was planning to marry Barney. Chloe didn’t even know her mom was dating anyone, than she finds out that she is dating Barney, who is Oliver’s dad. Oliver Beckett is the cocky British exchange boy who stayed with them when she was a senior in high school. Oliver was her first love as well as her first experience with sexual desire. Oliver almost got her V-card too. So when her mom announces that they will be moving to London to live with Oliver and Barney, she is very mad. Than Barney drops another boom on both Oliver and Chloe by saying that Chloe will be Oliver’s new Pastry Chief. Oliver may be her new boss in the kitchen, but she refuses to give in to him outside the kitchen. She is forced to spend the days with Oliver in the kitchen being a cocky boss barking orders at everyone, and then comes home to Oliver’s arrogant personality too. Will Oliver and Chloe every get pass the past and find a balance in the future with all this sexual charge as well as their parents looking to get married?

I received this for an honest review. Aubrey Irons once again has done an amazing job. Her books are more then about the taboo of the story. This book is about passion and love between two professional young people that had a lot in common.

Chloe Caulfield did not have dreams of being a lawyer or anything like that. She had a passion for baking. Her mother just did not understand. I love Chloe’s reason when asked why she liked to bake, but sorry you will have to read the book to find out why.

Chloe had to be not only surprised when her mother told her she was getting married to a guy in London but it was to Barney Beckett which was Oliver’s dad. This was a guy that she was highly attracted to and Chloe was also the one that told him NO!

Oliver Beckett was a handsome guy. He looked at women and their panties would melt. Women did not say no to him, well no woman but Chloe. Oliver ran a very tight kitchen at Jolie. He had people to address him as “Yes Chef”. He would of never dreamed that Chloe would becoming his stepsister little long be working in his kitchen as a pastry chef. I am not sure what was worse for him; knowing she was under the same roof sleep next door to his room or working in his kitchen.

Things do get hot and heavy between Oliver and Chloe, but it seems that when he thinks he will get her to beg she utters the work “No” or “Not a chance”. Will Oliver be able to win Chloe’s heart? Will things work out between their parents? How will their parents take it if they hooked up?

Cockney is a huge hit for me. I love all things British (like Tom Hardy!!) and Cockney hit the spot. Oliver and Chloe just became step siblings and it's a little awkward because they have a history. One tiny incident back in high school when Oliver was an exchange student and she nearly gave him her v card. Oooops... :) And now, not only are they steps, but she's been hired by Oliver's father to be the new pastry chef at the restaurant Oliver runs and is the head chef at.

I love their chemistry, both in the kitchen and in the bedroom. It's sexy and snarky. Chloe is awesome. She's sassy and doesn't put up with Oliver's crap, and boy does he give her crap!! He's like Gordon Ramsay in the kitchen, but she's no wilting wallflower. She refuses to say, "Yes, chef" and it drives him nuts!! Oliver is oh so cocky and arrogant, and it drives Chloe nuts. But what drives her more crazy is that he's even hotter than he was in high school, and he's her boss, so he bosses her around with glee.

I wish there had been a tad more character development, but both characters were great, and the sexual tension was off the charts hot!

I hate rating books this low. I mean, I know the struggle of every writer. But this book is just... *cringe*

It's depressing because I was really looking forward to reading this. I thought that the setting and characters would be mature than the last book (Crude, which I liked btw) but guess I thought wrong.

The hero and heroine weren't likeable. No redeeming quality at all. The hero was an ass, a jerk with a side of lewd. He's completely immature. The heroine... You know this feeling towards a book when you can instantly label the character with adjectives like—nice, cold, strong, sweet, witty. Well, you can't do that with her. She's got no character to label with.

And the climax came out of nowhere, when suddenly, the dad becomes an asshöle, a cheating bastard. It was so out of the blue, you know?

The end was rushed too, like Chloe magically appears with a fücking ring after six months. Wth.

I'm really disappointed. I liked Crude and I hate to rate and review this book this way. *sigh*

I don't know why (I mean, really, I should have known better), but I was thinking that I was going to get a NA or Contemporary Romance that was character or story driven. That's not what I got. The only thing driving this train-wreck is libido. And not even in a good way. She was too prude; he was too rude in a vulgar way (at least in the beginning). But at least his character was salvageable. His character evolved, at least a little. She's was yo-yo'ing between hot and cold the entire time. I don't think there was one redeeming quality about her. After about the 50% mark I skipped forward to the last couple chapters to see if it got any better and was worth putting the effort into finishing. Nope. It was indeed crap. I'll tell you what the final nail in the coffin was though: her 'gasp'ing all the fucking time. One hundred and one times, to be exact. In a 300-page book. I did a term search on my Kindle. One hundred and fucking one. Shoot me now. DNF.

Chloe can't believe the bomb her mum just dropped on her, she's getting married to a guy she been dating long distance for five years, and not just any guy, no he's the father of the one guy she never wanted to see again. Oliver had stayed with them on an exchange program, they had fooled around a bit, he almost took her virginity, but even though he didn't, he told the school he did. Yes Chloe hates Oliver with a passion, and now not only is he going to be her stepbrother, their moving to England for the pleasure.
When they meet again, it's instant attraction, but it comes with strings, and they need to work through things first. One day everything goes wrong and everything is lost.
I really enjoyed this book, and I was happy how the ending went, although my heart broke for Chloe and Oliver, and even Laura with her grace compassion and the loneliness she had felt. I love all the extra characters in Oliver's life that you meet throughout the story. A fantastic read.

enjoyable read.

This is a fast paced book with a few wtf moments. There were times that I found that the book lagged, or needed that something more.
I did enjoy the read but I am very neutral with my all round feel for it. The storyline had its good points, where I would be screaming for more. But then the authors choice of words, or the way the sentence was put together make me pull back. I loved the different feel to this, it wasn't the same story line but beware it is full of fillers. The same things get repeated a few times. But don't let that turn you off from reading this book.

The cover of this book was the first thing that caught my attention, and then I checked out the summary to see what it was about. The story looked very promising, especially with the setting being in London, and that it was based around a restaurant. Books were the leads are chefs are a personal favorite of mine.

I'm very happy to say that I was not disappointed! The book lived up to my expectations and I really enjoyed it from start to finish. I love Chloe and found her to be very relatable. Olivier took some time for me to warm up to, but I did like him by the end of the book and loved that he and Chloe got their HEA.

I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

I would have to give this book 4.0 star rating out of 5. I liked this book for 3 reasons. The first reason was because the book was funny it had laughing all through the banter between the two main characters. The second reason was because it was dirty at some parts of the book (the sex of course). The third reason I liked the book was because of the last chapter and epilogue, they were the best parts of the book. This is what I liked in the book. I would recommend this book if you like strong female characters, funny banter between the main characters and dirty sex in some parts of the book.

Why did i shelve this so long

I know why, because I couldn't tell the difference between this 'bad boy stepbrother jackass with a secretly soft heart from England who has a huge appendage that every woman in town has seen" book and the 14 other ones that came out at the same time with almost identical covers . WELL THAT WAS MY MISTAKE...... one I wish I had rectified earlier because this book was anything but typical. It was hilarious and well developed and just well effing done !!! Read it now thank me later!

This book was as sexy as it was intriguing - and not just for the taboo aspect.

The hero and heroine played off each other perfectly, with their teasing banter and love-hate reactions to each other.

It's a good story (seeing as I finished it in a couple hours without putting it down), but there were a couple loose ends that weren't tied up - even though the epilogue was very well done. There were holes in the storyline, for crying out loud! For that, the review gets less than 5 stars.

I'd still recommend it though.

This is cover, so eye-appealing!! LOVE IT! I have read a few books with this take on life ... not sure how I feel about that issue? brother and sister love. they are not blood related brother and sister. That being said ... take that way ... it is a very hot & steamy -ness - ness read. Held my interest, I love the idea of running a restaurant, making her call him "Chef" ... & yes I will never look at a cucumber very ... never mind. giggle. if you are not offended easily take a read asap! great read. Lovely stories and great scenes.

The book had one fatal flaw for me... The editing! It's not very difficult to proofread and there were tons of mistakes. Some sentence fragments had me tripping over them and breaking the tension or mood of a scene but I did fall in love with the characters. Mostly I would love a story entirely about Hudson's past but without Ray there I doubt it'd be as much fun. ~.^ Still a great read.

The whole stepsibling thing and reaction to it - OTT really.

I enjoyed the characters and the story line - chefs are so like this. But it was ruined by the rapid jump to the conclusion. I am left thinking huh - why did it take Chloe six months to get back? The ring thing so out of her character arc , the suddenness of the H's dad and the bimbo Delia ? and then the h's mum and Danny? Just need a bit more development there.
Because of this 2.5-3 stars sorry
