Brimstone: Where Angels Fear to Tread
My name is Quentin Cain.
Time was, I was the most wanted man in the Western territories. I don’t think there was a bank or a train west of the Mississippi that I didn’t rob at one time or another. I lost track of how many men I killed. But like all bad men, the law finally caught up with me and a lifetime of no good was over at the end of a rope.
Most people would tell you I deserved everything that happened to me in Hell, and maybe I did, but the fact is I finally had enough. I killed my tormentor and escaped, eventually forcing a demon to open a portal to let me back to this world.
Armed with a knife crafted by a demon with enough dark magic to kill demons, I've managed to stay one step ahead of the demons Lucifer keeps sending after me. Some monks even blessed a pair of Remington pistols for me, making my bullets act kind of like holy water.
The angels made it clear there ain’t no place in Heaven for a bad man like me, so I keep runnin’. Just me and my horse and that black dog I found on the trail.
I don’t know what’s gonna happen to me; the only thing I know for sure is I ain’t goin’ back.
