I purchased this book from Amazon to read with my sister. All opinions are my own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Proverbs For Parenting by Barbara Decker. I was leery of this book at first. I do not like a Bible study that reads like an owner's manual, but after realizing it was more about organizing thoughts not a "how to" book it was easy to work into my morning devotion time. It also gives parents an insight into helping build a child's character through Gods word. How can a book only containing Scripture not receive 5 stars? This book is a topical guide, a categorization of Proverbs into parenting related categories. There is no commentary or explanation accompanying the Proverbs.
You can't improve on the Bible. This book is the book of Proverbs, arranged topically into chapters, so that you can easy flip to "Anger" for example, and read verses from Proverbs that deal with anger. It's a wonderful parenting tool!
I love the concept, I was just hoping for more. You can’t improve on God’s word, but I just wished the first few pages continued a little further. To know and live by the Bible is most important, I just thought there would be more strategies than a collection of Proverbs. Either way I’d read it again.
