Kellen and Rhett grew up together. The two young men could not be more different.
Kellen is a rising star in the National Football League. Sensitive Rhett doesn’t like sports. He’d rather read and cook all day. When Kellen’s wild antics threaten to tarnish the family name, Rhett is forced to move into Kellen’s bachelor pad. His only job? Keep Kellen’s name out of the tabloids.
The stepbrothers have not spoken in years. Now they're living together. Kellen keeps acting like a macho jerk, but Rhett clings to the memory of a fleeting moment the young men shared long ago.
Kellen remembers more than he lets on. But his true feelings are buried so deeply, only Rhett can show him how to love again.
This story is one of those that had me rolling my eyes so many times I was worried they’d get stuck looking up. Silly plot and boring sex(what little there was of it). I doubt if I’ll read anything else by this author.
I like this story a lot. My only wish is that the author had given us the parents reaction to the boys falling in love with each other. Otherwise great syory!
This one has potential, but it ends up lacking. Kellen isn't a relatable character. His actions & attitude aren't right. He reads very much like a survivor of sexual abuse (hypersexuality, lack of concern for hygiene with his housekeeping, isolating & combative personality traits & the way he reacts to Rhett hints at an internalized shame like some guys have when they realize they have feelings for another man despite the trauma of abuse they'd endured as a child.) But he doesn't have that history so his actions & reactions are just (at times & in many ways) immature, irrational or weird. Rhett is, at turns, too oblivious & self-absorbed to compensate for the story to ultimately balance out making it a 2.5ish 🌟 read that tips toward the lower 2 🌟 rating. The end is just too rushed & HEA to be plausible.

Jack Woolf has written a very good book.it had drama and two strong characters with just the right chemistry. The only problem it left in answer questions in the end. It's like it ended missing coming but with a HEA . But with all the unanswered questions it was still a great read.
This was a good story , but had many, many editing errors. So much so that at times I was confused as to who was speaking and the characters were mixed up. Made it a little confusing and had to reread sections. If not for that would have been at least 4 stars.
This was a very good book. I will have to find some more of your books. Keep up the good work Jack. I will always give my honest opinion about your books, whether it's good or bad.
This was a cute book. I ready it in two days - only like 70 some pages. I felt the author covered a lot of material in a few pages, and I am glad I read it.
What do you do when you want what you can’t have? Rhett is between a rock and a hard place, in order to get the money he needs to start the business of his dreams he What do you do when you want what you can’t have?has to keep his stepbrother out of trouble till his father’s election is over. It’s been 10 years since they’ve see each other and Kellan is less than thrilled about having a “babysitter”. Kellan’s changed so much he seems like a stranger to Rhett (they used to be best friends as well as brothers), Kellan’s place is a wreck and so is his life, getting in bar brawls, going through women like underwear and non-stop partying, and he is definitely not the friend he once was. Despite all the hostility Rhett can’t help but think of the last time they were together, a memory or dream he can’t quite grasp just the impression of soft lips on his, just enough that he realizes he may feel more than brotherly love for Kellan, but the Kellan he knows now certainly isn’t that boy anymore, and how could his feelings ever be reciprocated when Kellan is obviously straight? Great step romance! Loved the storyline and characters! Highly recommend if you’re a fan of the step sibling theme!
it wasnt the best but short short and entertaining. i just read it because it was super short and i like to read different books about all different kinds of people. it went by quick and i dont really have much to say about it. ill probably skim it and form my thoughts together again cause i read this a couple days ago. i remember his stepbrother being a jerk to him and wishing their was a little more.....something. i know they cant fit everything because its a short story but ive read short romance stories before that felt complete and had good development / timing. this was decent in that sense but i remember that i wouldve liked to see what happened after they decided to say: "screw everyone who doesnt like it. lets do this!" i want to see how it panned out. i wanted to see their parents' reactions to the shocking news! i even would've like more of a feel of their history, maybe a prologue from before......
...most of the way. It started falling apart for me when Rhett started all the crying. I pushed thru that though and then came the complete 180 degree flip. *SPOILER* Rhett the Publisher was comfortable with his gayness while Kellen the Football Player was desperately trying to bury his feelings for Rhett. Once Kellen owns his feelings suddenly he's the expert and Rhett's the virgin? Did I blink too long? And what happened with Dave, Rhett's friend who obviously has feelings for him? And how did the newly elected governor and his wife react to the romance and subsequent engagement of their sons?
I like this story. There is a little violence but nothing major. The sexual chemistry between the characters is hot. The love-hate relationship they have in the beginning is well written..
I don't know what it is about this book but I absolutely LOVED it. I started with Jack's Spring Break but fell in love with his writing with this one. I am following him closely now.
