With the majority of the Neurofeedback field using Susan Othmer's symptom based -- client centered approach to neurofeedback, or other variations on the symptom based approach, there has been great demand for a book explaining her work. This new expanded edition of the Protocol Guide for Neurofeedback Clinicians presents Susan Othmer's latest thinking in a straight forward and easy to reference guide. Over the last 20 years Susan Othmer has worked personally with thousands of clients at the EEG Institute in Woodland Hills CA. She has supervised hundreds of clinicians, psychologists and Medical Doctors and trained close to five thousand professionals in her method. From this experience she has developed not only a tremendous instinct for working with clients but also a model that allows clinicians to understand and follow this same set of guidelines in their own work. The basis of Susan Othmer's work is that neurofeedback protocols can be carefully adjusted for each client to get maximal effectiveness. For any neurofeedback clinician who has seen a client fall out of the program due to lack of success, or negative results, it is clear that there is always more that we can do. There are always those clients who remain extremely hard to reach. But after 20 years of this work Sue has shown how to adjust the training to accommodate negative reactions, and non-reactions with much greater effectiveness.
