USA Today Bestselling Author Lacey Silks writes seat-gripping romantic suspense with heat and spice. She’s married to most of her characters and tortures her husband with quirky book roles. Lacey’s two kids and her dog Kygo fill her time with homework questions and sweet licks all over her face (the dog not the kids).
When she’s not writing seat-gripping and heart-throbbing stories, Lacey enjoys camping and skiing with her family. She’s an early bird by nature and drinks coffee instead of water, because that’s how her busy billionaire heroes do it.
Lacey’s flawed and relatable characters fill the pages with laughter, snark and tears. She judges men by the size of their feet, loves sexy lingerie, and can’t live without her “boost juice”: coffee.
I've always been a fan of redeemable broken people. It adds an element of reality that I enjoy. Millie has had a bad lot in life and it seems that she can't shake what plagues her. Her tormentor has a crazy excuse for his actions and well, it's not unrealistic to expect that people like that really do exist. The story follows a past and present format. The past was actually pretty good at explaining why things are and offer character perspective that makes them somewhat relatable, at least in the very beginning. Then you have the present. Dave is in a relationship and still has obvious feelings for the h. Let's just say that some of the things he does and says make me feel bad for the girlfriend. The h is the other woman your man can't let go of. Getting past that, not all that easy but doable. Then we hear what happened the night before she walked away. See spoiler below for that. There was a level of immaturity to Millie that was annoying at times. For example an older woman and her friend at the time gets beat up by her tormenter. She says that she's upset because "he beat her up and he was mean to her and Millie was mean to her but never that bad" who gives a flying f about him being meaner than you to her. He beat her up. He's a bad person. -.- How is level of mean even flipping relevant. I really should have DNFed this but I didn't so I rated it. Definitely not for me and for my safety gang friends. Safety: h is the other woman. See spoiler for another instance of OW. No rape but the threat of it is constant. I don't remember the use of condoms and frankly I didn't like it enough to recheck. No abuse. No sharing. They dated other people in between occasional screws.

This is the story of Millie and Dave, a broken girl and a guy who wants to save her.
I have to tell you that I really loved this story! It wasn't a perfect story but it was about being perfectly loved! There was lots of pain and lots of mistakes but there was also love, pure and strong love! There were also few twists and surprised that I could figure out before their time but it didn't disturb me at all.
The writing took me by surprise and I loved it! Ms. Silks has written a beautiful story in an amazing way. The story is said by a dual POV and changes in each chapter. The story is said in three different timelines in a way. It sounds confusing but it really isn't. Millie's POV has a bit of a memory from her childhood and then it's back to present time. Dave's POV is always in the past (besides his last chapter in the book that is actually taking place at present time) and explains the events that took place after he met Millie.
Millie is an amazing woman. She grew up in the system and she has never really being loved before meeting Dave and his family. I totally loved her for her strength and her survival instincts. I don't want to give anything away, so I will just say that she has a huge and beautiful heart!
Dave is a great man! He wants to help Millie without putting her in a difficult place. His feelings for her are strong and unique! His intentions are good and I love this in him. I also love his persistence with Millie.
Their interactions left me breathless and in pain! There were so many emotions! I was happy for them and then I ached for them! They were just fantastic together and apart! I really love them!
The end of the book brought tears in my eyes! Real tears! It was a while ago that I cried with a book and that's enough reason for me to confirm that Ms. Silks wrote a beautiful book that is impossible not to touch you!
I definitely recommend this book to everyone who loves to read a beautiful, full of pain love story.
Such a fantastic read! It's heart-wrenching, powerful and brilliant!
Millie has a crappy childhood and when she meets Dave at one of her many schools, they're drawn to one another. They were soulmates from day one, even though they were young and didn't realize it. The foster home that Millie has landed in is truly awful but being at school with Dave makes things a bit better, Dave is determined to forge a friendship with Millie. When a foster brother from her past returns to make Millie's life a living hell she has to give up her friendship with Dave to protect her younger brother. Luckily for Millie, Dave doesn't give up so easily and fights to get her back.
This book is told in dual POV but Millie is present and Dave is their past. I'm not usually a fan of books that flip past to present purely because I don't have the patience for it, I have to say though, it really worked for this book. It's such a heart-wrenching story and I look forward to reading more from this author.
I was given a free copy of this book to read and review for Hooked On Books!
Perfectly Loved is the first book I've read by Lacey Silks. It is the third book in her Perfectly Loved series, it does have an HEA, no cliffy and is told from an alternating POV between the main characters. This is a book that jumps between the past and present, and a genuine second chance romance.
I will admit to having this plot figured out at about the 25% mark in the book, however, I still enjoyed it. The main characters were well written, as was the plot. It moves along at a good pace and although you may want to whack the heroine over the head at some point, I can almost guarantee you'll want to finish this book.
For me, it was a middle of the road read, however, I do feel that I've found a new author to enjoy. My rating says 3 stars, but I'd give it more of a 3.5. If you're a lover of second chances, this one is for you.

Perfectly Loved is about a girl in the foster system who meets a boy who wants to save her. The story is in present time where Millie and Dave are now ex-lovers but we don't learn right away why that is. It's obvious Dave never wanted to lose Millie and we don't know if she left him to keep him safe or because he did something he shouldn't have or maybe both. There is a lot to unravel in this story and you don't learn the full truth until the end. The story skips around a lot from the present time to when they were kids and then back further to Millie's life with her parents before she goes into foster care. You learn little pieces at a time like you are solving a puzzle. Unfortunately, most of it is a tragic tale of a girl who can't break free from her trouble past that we later find out is because someone won't let her. Bring the tissues out for this tragic love story.

just not for me. I didn't like the back and forth from past to present. I guessed the big mystery about 30% the way through so the ending was anti-climatic. I scanned most of the book. I just couldn't get into it. The sex was steamy.
Not my cup of tea, but others I am sure will like it.

This book is a fantastic addition to the Perfectly Series. This book is about Millie and Dave. Millie and Dave have known each other for years. Dave has seen Millie at her lowest as a teen and still always had admiration towards her. As Millie grew up, She became so protective of her heart and the people she loves, she doesn't want to let Dave in. Mainly because she doesn't want to hurt him. This book is great because it goes back in time to when and how they met to where they are now. This was an intense book, with a few curve balls thrown in that you would not expect. Their chemistry was off the charts and I am glad it was a HEA.
I received this story in exchange for a very honest review. Thank you.
The constant back and forth between past and present in this story bothered me a little. I would really get into reading about Millie's past but then we would be back in the present. Also, it was difficult to keep track of time in the chapters written in the past. I had a difficult time figuring out how the Millie character from years ago became the Millie character today as the two seemed vastly differently. There was only one twist that I didn't expect; the others were fairly obvious.
This is not your typical romantic read and really brings to light the struggles of a child in the foster care system. At times I thought Dave seemed more mature than his actual age but I think it worked with the story.

This is a new to me author... That being said, I thought this book was OK. The story jumps around all over the place. You really have to pay attention to who's POV you're in and what period in time. Millie is the down on her luck, since birth, girl just trying to find her way and someone to love her. Dave is from an average family where everyone loves and supports each other. They find a way to come together only to be torn apart by secrets and deception. I think that if this story was told in the actual series of events it would be a better.
another fantastic read from this author. this story is heart wrenching, powerful and just plain fantastic. this book flips between the past and present, keeping you hooked till the last page. this book is a fab addition to the series and defiantly a must read.

Before I begin with my review of the book proper, let me say that my review will be a mixture of a straight forward review and of what the book conjures emotionally within and most importantly, I try my best not to include spoilers. Having said that this is a HEA book, you just have to discover the details for yourself. I have read all the books in the series and have become emotionally invested in many of the characters. I would recommend this to anyone who has read any of Lacey’s work and/or anyone who likes romance/dark romance genres.
‘Perfectly Loved’ is the conclusion to Millie and Dave’s relationship that was hinted at in ‘Perfectly Seduced’. Then we were given a 24 hour snapshot in ‘Perfectly Kissed’ which is the prequel to this book and should be read before reading ‘Perfectly Loved’. It is written from dual POV, Millie’s and Dave’s and switches between historical recollections of past events and the present day in each chapter. From the outset there are clues that will become revelations further through the book.
Almost immediately Millie is doing what comes naturally and trying to escape, though it’s difficult to run when you are closely linked to law enforcement, as Millie is. Add Bluetooth connectivity to that and you truly are going to struggle to leave your tribulations behind you.
Millie also falls victim to her scruples. A will to protect the environment ultimately backfires when her escape vehicle runs out of fuel thanks to a heavy conscience leaving her unable to lug around the extra weight of an unnecessarily full fuel tank.
Unwilling to leave her stranded by the side of the road she acquiesces to Dave’s insistence of a ride home and his brother, Justin, rescuing her car the following morning. However, whilst she was consumed with telling herself that she was safe, Dave stopped in his driveway and not hers.
This time it was different. Different in the fact that Dave promised to be on his best behaviour and unlike previous times, he was; he didn’t try anything, he stood back and was the utmost gentleman making tea and offering Millie first dibs on a hot shower.
The morning gave Millie an inkling as to why Dave had been different with her when realising Dave hadn’t woken her for work she headed downstairs only to be met by “a petite blonde”, otherwise known as Gwen, brandishing a cup of coffee. This new development in Dave’s life, the life she is determined to distance herself from, led her to feel uncomfortable, for the first time ever, in his house. Yet despite this determination, Millie feels jealous; a jealousy that is only intensified as she see evidence of Dave’s relationship’s evolution in, of all things, the kitchen cupboards.
The second chance at a relationship between the two that came about last Christmas lasted all of two months before ‘fate’, as Millie likes to define it, butted in. Since then Millie liked to think that they were friends and would remain so forever due to the godparent connection to Dave’s nephew. However, that’s not quite the way Dave sees it- “We were never friends, Millie. Lovers, soul mates, kindred spirits, sometimes f*** buddies…but not friends.”
However their relationship is defined, what you can’t deny is their closeness and Dave know her too well, so asks her who she was running from and what happened eight months ago so that history doesn’t repeat itself. That’s when a meeting of gazes triggers understanding and the floodgates open, though the whole truth is still somewhat veiled and reinforcing the chasm that Millie has created between them.
Each new chapter seems to bring the couple’s history more clearly in to focus. In ‘Perfectly Kissed’ their history in known as in they knew each other quite well. The level that their lives are intertwined is inferred but not explicitly explained, but one can surmise that their connection is/has been both significant and intimate at times. With every new discovery their connection becomes more vibrant and prophetic and one can see why their friends and family have been so invested in their bond, why Millie sets such store by ‘fate’ and why Dave is protective towards her.
School was where there connection began; a feisty, frosty new girl by the lockers putting up barriers to protect herself through splendid isolation, pushing away the guy who asks her name and then came to her rescue after she was set-up by the school’s mean-girl. It was the principal’s office where Dave learnt that this enigma was called Millie and not “I don’t give a f***”. It was where he learnt that she was residing with at the Savage residence and as such was no more than a means to a regular income from the foster care system to them; they definitely weren’t in it for the care component!
And school was where he decided to follow that feisty enigma ‘home’ and witnessed just how generous a soul blazed behind the her defensive exterior. ‘Home’ whilst technically with the Savages, practically was an abandoned house in a similar but more dilapidated part of the neighbourhood. It was in that house that they truly made their first connection, where Dave invited her to his home for dinner and where he fell for her.
Millie’s chapters give cumulative glimpses in to the events that led to her being placed in foster care and garnering a distrust of the male gender. They allow an insight as to what she endured and why she would feel the need to run.
Their Christmas reunion ended rather abruptly and bloodily and of the two of them, only Millie knows the truth of that situation and she is determined to keep it that way, even if an unpleasant reminder of that dark day has reared its ugly head once again. Mark Savage released from incarceration, and it’s something that neither she nor Dave is particularly happy about or has much power to change.
‘Dancing’ around each other brings a variety of memories to the fore. Some soul-destroying and some rather pleasant, with the ensuing friendly banter, allow a distraction from the current predicament. That isn’t enough for Dave and he plans a proper distraction.
They are driving down a road that seems eerily familiar to Millie. Images of a little girl playing in leaves sprang to mind and disconcerted her a little. Here is where one finds out why Dave has a tendency to call Millie foodstuff nicknames and has the knack to produce said foodstuffs on a whim! Not exactly the most vexing of habits.
They pull up to a rather dilapidated wooden house, which again gave her a sense of déjà vu but Dave dismisses it as just being close to Mrs Bowers’ property. Putting it aside, Millie then proceeds to, as Dave puts it, “let go of stress”, and yes the double entendre is obvious to Millie too.
We learn more of Millie’s past, of her birth family and her losses and how Dave finally got her to agree to step inside his family’s home. When Millie emerges after the ‘April treatment’ it’s as though another girl has stepped in where she should have been standing. Dinner was fairly uneventful but for Mr Mayers offering Millie a safe place for the night. Thankfully she accepted the kindness and so that was how the first night of many in the Mayers’ household came about.
Dave’s version of letting go of stress involved target practice. A little unnerving, but she had a go. She didn’t make the shot first time and became worried about the local wildlife, but Dave was determined to keep her mind away from Mark Savage. Surprisingly Millie didn’t take as long to hit the target as he had anticipated and then there was the issue of how to fill the time without dwelling.
So with time to kill Millie suggested heading over to Mrs Bowers place. They went to the local store to pick up groceries for Thanksgiving and headed on over. Now, one thing that you will learn is Mrs Bowers, despite her gruffness, would appear to be a die-hard romantic at heart, and as such she is chief cheerleader for the “’Dave and Millie forever and ever’ campaign”. So despite protestations she will ‘campaign’ to the both of them regardless, including proposing marriage to Dave, if she were ‘younger’.
After being sent to the attic for a box of hats and scarves by Mrs Bowers, Millie can’t resist seeing if the piece of paper that they had stashed up there years back was still there. They had written promises to each other, well more like declarations of love on Dave’s part anyway. Finally remembering why she was there in the first place, Millie found the appropriately marked box and picked it up noticing an old photo underneath it. Picking it up it was an image of Mr and Mrs Bowers and a little girl – a familiar looking little girl.
Mr Mayers applied to be Millie’s legal guardian, and the day of the hearing was the day that Dave first kissed her. Just prior to the hearing Millie had finally felt comfortable enough to open up to Dave. She told him about her parents – her father the drunk and her mother the druggie who earned money by being paid for sex, her brother, her life in general, the fire that burnt and scarred her brother and eventually led to the intervention by social services and the importance of the pendant she wore.
This is when Millie first put in place the barrier to keep her and Dave apart. Given her life, who wouldn’t have done? Why jeopardise a safe home? Dave reluctantly agreed.
Photo in hand, Millie asks Mrs Bowers why she would have told them that she didn’t have any children if she had a daughter. The response isn’t exactly what they expected. It’s not often that you’re told that a child tried to smother their own mother.
Once back in the city, at Dave’s so Millie could pick up her bag, she overheard an exchange between Dave and Gwen, an exchange that made her feel uncomfortable for Gwen as Dave didn’t really try to be convincing in his dismissal of Millie’s significance in his life.
Once back at her place, Millie is brought from her thoughts when she notices him standing in the shadows and decides that of her options, the best thing to do is run!
Fighting, literally fighting for Millie does wonders for Dave. The burgeoning connection between them finally comes to the fore, for Millie anyway. It is the aftermath of his confrontation with Mark that leads to Millie’s change of heart. A secret change of heart, but a change of heart nonetheless.
Running to the house they had visited earlier to de-stress. Yes, it was, dark, cold, empty and isolated but it was better than being at home even if she wasn’t willing to venture inside that first night, so spent in her car. Millie ventured to the local store to pick up supplies, including things to clean the house and succumbed to her curiosity over who the owner was. So instead of heading straight back she went to the library to check out the digital map.
Being an area where it was the norm to pass land through the generations the title details of the property she was interested in wasn’t held digitally so she had to use the archives to accomplish her task. And the owner? Well that would be telling!
Having ‘forgotten’ to call Dave, he called her. As was becoming the norm, their conversation quickly became memory and innuendo inducing but Millie managed to persuade Dave that she needed some time out to think. Heading back Millie made a start on cleaning up the old place and was making good progress. But cleaning herself of the dust, now that wasn’t great – no hot water! Dried off, Millie ate her soup (cold) and retreated back to her car to sleep.
It’s strange how when one is thinking about someone, they call and so as Millie is thinking about Dave (and undertaking some target practice), Dave calls. He asks the question that he seems to keep asking: Are you running? And Millie answers the way she normally answers: No. After saying she’d probably be back for Thanksgiving and would stay in contact, Millie hears a sound she heard last night and heads out to investigate.
It was a stream, like the one at Mrs Bowers’ house but a little bigger and evoked more feelings of déjà vu. This time the feeling resembled more of a dreamlike feeling. Except that thanks to a gust of wind causing the remains of an old rope swing to move, it was clearly more than a recollection of a dream.
Millie’s 18th birthday was fast approaching and the Mayers’, including Millie, were spending some time helping out at the Bowers’ place. Mr Bowers was sat watching, Dave especially as he watched Millie, and offered Dave some advice, a little encouragement and a distraction for his little sister, April.
Taking full advantage Dave heads over to Millie. Determined that their first time wouldn’t be in a barn, they kiss and kiss some more until Mrs Bowers interrupts them and the hay is nearly set alight. That evening at the dinner table was no better. Millie played footsie with Dave until he had to make up a reason to excuse himself, and Millie followed to ‘help’.
Millie arrived at Mrs Bowers’ with turkey and pie, all ready for Thanksgiving. Yes, Mrs Bowers may be elderly but she normally responds to the initial knocks and calls. Hoping for the best Millie opens the door for Mrs Bowers’ to greet her with her usual acerbic wit.
Mrs Bowers, however, isn’t alone and Mrs Bowers being Mrs Bowers can’t resist having a little fun at Millie’s expense by exclaiming that Dave and Gwen had called by on their way to the Mayers’ cabin, that Gwen was “really good at cleaning” and that they couldn’t leave each other alone. Unfortunately, that’s when Dave corrects Millie’s assumption that Gwen was responsible for the cleaning. Wanting to avoid Dave, and having not kept in touch, Millie tries to leave, but as luck would have it, her car won’t start and so she has no choice but to head back inside.
Finally Millie turns 18! After a day spent with the family and the Bowers people make their excuses and politely retire for the evening and Millie and Dave take the first tentative steps towards completing each other.
For a vegetarian stuffing the turkey isn’t the most pleasant of tasks, but Millie takes Mrs Bowers’ kitchen as her own domain. In reality, cooking kept her mind off Savage, Dave and Dave’s promise that before she left the mountains he would remind her exactly why they were meant to be together.
Then came the universe themed prom. By now you’ll have noticed Dave’s love of the stars so it was rather apt. When he’d promised not to go with Millie he did get the promise of a dance from her. Everything seemed to be going well until Millie needed to go to the car and exchange her heels for flats and she encountered Mark. It was never going to be pleasant and to add insult to injury he took her mother’s pendant.
Dave was all for tearing after him, but Millie assuages him and they return to the prom, heading to the Savage house later on. Sneaking in to Savages house, Dave pries the pendant from his hand but has the misfortune to wake him in the process and a startled Mark knocks over candles. By now, we wouldn’t expect Dave to do anything other than rescue anyone unfortunate enough to be trapped in the house, and that is exactly what he does losing the pendant all over again.
And so came the Thanksgiving meal that was 24 hours early. Dave’s simple acts of common courtesy seem amplified and take Millie aback. Then Mrs Bowers’ prayer of Thanksgiving causes Millie to combust with embarrassment when Dave gives thanks that the house where he created his most important memories is still standing. Moving on the topic changes to where Millie had spent the last week and that then leads to the revelation that the property is owned by Mrs Bowers, her daughter and granddaughter and what if anything she had to done to find her granddaughter.
Needing some space and some air, Millie takes advantage of Dave’s bathroom break to slip outside. Testing out if her memories of the stream and the rope swing had maybe become muddled, she headed out towards the stream that ran by Mrs Bowers’ house and found herself sitting in a split tree. Dave found her and joined her and made their position slightly more precarious than it already was. And it was here perching precariously that Dave, once again, opens his heart to Millie. And then the branch gives way and the cold water welcomes them with its icy embrace.
Dave and his brother head out to the store to get a couple of herbs for Millie and run in to a youth named Zack who holds them up. Dave makes a deal with him that if he comes back on Monday he’ll give him enough money for the week as well as food. That day, when Dave got home, he found Millie in tears after having received a call to say Mr Bowers had passed away. Dave walked to the store for a year hoping to bump in to Zack again but to no avail.
With Dave’s assistance Millie clambered out of the icy water. Before she realised it she found herself stood under a stream of warm water. Both she and Dave were now stood naked in the shower, thawing out. Not long after they were headed to the attic where Dave’s precious memories were created, aiming to create more and did they ever.
Now one learns the potential reason for Dave and Millie’s parting of the ways. As it’s important to understanding Dave and Millie’s relationship I’ll let you discover the whys and wherefores for yourself. Suffice it to say that if Dave hadn’t been such a gentleman and always looking out for Millie it may never have happened but then would they have fallen for each other? Can it ever be good if an old nemesis reappears?
Dave amazes Millie by reciting the promise he made her all those years ago and adds to it, melting her heart that little bit more and they take steps to attempt to identify Mrs Bowers’ granddaughter, Molly. At the very least, Mrs Bowers will get an enlarged image of the happy photo that Millie had found in the attic.
Millie braves the new environment of a frozen hell as she ventures downstairs to face Mrs Bowers who, as one would expect, was dressed appropriately for aforementioned conditions. This is also the time that Millie hears that Mrs Bowers knew exactly what she and Dave had been doing, this time and the first, with a knowing comment about bookshelves banging.
And the urgency behind Millie’s dash from Dave is revealed after an encounter with Mark Savage at a homeless shelter. Again I feel this is a rather important plot line and one that you should read yourself as it also reveals the reason for Millie’s overwhelming desire to be alone.
True to his word, when Millie calls and simply says she needs him, Dave heads out to meet her. Millie’s mother makes an appearance, albeit a brief one, when she is admitted to hospital. After effectively abandoning Millie and her brother to their fates, karma seems to be having fun at Millie’s expense by making her find her own estranged mother passed out in the store. Once in the hospital the Dr informs Millie that her mother’s passing is imminent. When they go and see her she calls Millie Molly but they brush it off and the addled brain of a person in the last stages of life.
Then the thing that Millie had been hiding from Dave can be hidden no longer. It all comes out: the prom, the blackmail, Zack/Timothy, the nemesis, Mark Savage, Dave’s part in these events and 2+2 does equal 4.
Making funeral arrangements for her mother from Mrs Bowers’ place and Millie’s world shatters for the umpteenth time when expecting Dave she answers the door and it’s not Dave; it’s Mark Savage.
Injured and captive Millie learns more about hers and Dave’s and Mark’s intertwined pasts. All the while Dave is searching for Mark and wanting to give Millie the news of his discovery but it is a discovery at the Savage residence that has Dave panicked and racing to Millie.
Now what sort of person would I be if I gave away the ending? Its a great read, so I urge you to give it a go.
Dave and Millie have been on and off for so many years, first introduced in April’s story.
First in April’s story it seemed she never forgave him, but reading their story, their love is beautiful.
Millie is a foster child, with a mother whose an addict, and a father who is the scum of criminals. Her time with her family is heartbreaking, her time in foster care- tragic. It was Dave and his family that saved her. She had to face hardtimes all along, and finally had one family member left she just didn’t know it.
Twelve years of the push and pull that was Dave and Millie- they were meant to be.
This is a story of adversity and finally winning against it, and a story that sometimes blood isn’t stronger then the bond you form with those you choose. And sometimes they are right under your nose.
Does Justin get a story? He’s so quiet and the only Mayer’s family member without their own story.
Perfectly raw. Perfectly breathtaking. Perfectly divine. Those are just a few words that I feel describe this heart-wrenching yet brilliant story aptly and accurately. Perfectly Loved is a truly powerful story that will quietly and unassumingly weave itself into your very heart without you realizing what is happening. It will open your soul to a beautiful yet bone-gnawing vulnerability that can only be achieved through a once-in-a-lifetime, epic love. Before you can blink, you will find your world has been tilted, your heart has logged itself in your throat, and you are being completely consumed by a soul-emblazing love. You will never walk away the same again, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Millie loves Dave even more then she dares to admit. He has seeped into her very soul and ingrained himself forever as a cherished memory. She can’t have more no matter how often her heart leads her back to him and no matter how much her body brings them back together. The ever present danger and the promise of unimaginable pain spurs her feet to carry her as far away from him as possible. They can’t be together. She can have anyone else but Dave. Her heart is free to want any other man except the one that it relentlessly screams for every waking second. No matter far she run or how much pain she inflects on him, Dave is determined to endure and to wait for her to grace him with the light of her honest and pure love once more. Will his patience be able to touch her conflicted heart enough to let him back in, or will he eventually find that his desire to have more in life outweighs the perpetual emptiness that waiting on her brings him?
Millie and Dave have settled into my heart ever since I first read about them in Perfectly Kissed. They was so much push and pull there that I couldn’t imagine what would be able to keep those two apart. Their connection was pure and intense in the best way possible, and to see this amazing couple viciously pulled apart and suffering absolutely shredded my heart. If any two people deserved the chance at a happy future, it was these two. I was overwhelmed with how much love and determination Dave showed Millie even when she never told him why she left him suddenly. He just simply loved her no matter how hard or how far she pushed him away. He knew that she was it for him, and that no other woman would ever complete him like she did. He was such a tremendously passionate and loving guy to her, and he never failed to take my breath away.
Lacy Silks never fails to knock the very breath from my lungs by her passionately exquisite stories! Her tremendously breathtaking talent renders me utterly speechless, and I love it every time it happens!! I look forward with incredible anticipation to the next masterpiece that I am gifted the privileged to savor and enjoy. This is one author that you don’t want to miss out on. While her writing is incredibly versatile, it is also felt deeply and intensely. You won’t walk away from her stories thinking the same way, and your perspective on life will shift a little more with each bit of exposure to her wondrously priceless heart.
"She was nothing I expected and everything I wanted." - Dave
I'm a scorned woman and no one, except him, knows it.
My first lover. My best friend's brother. A mouth-watering piece of art I can't stop staring at.
He's the ice-cream to my tongue on a hot day. Water to my dehydrated body. And a perfect release for my pent up desires.
But we're far from a fairy tale. He can be the knife to my heart. Acid to my skin. And darkness to my eyes.
He destroyed me. Broke my soul and stole my faith.
Now he wants to put me back together and I’m not sure if I’m strong enough to resist him.

I think that we all felt like we knew where things were going to go - these 2 had an obviously connection that pretty much was unbreakable. that being said, it takes us through most of the book to understand why and why not - as far as 'could their relationship truly work'.
Throughout this 3rd installment, we learn more and more about how David and Millie came to be connected, and it was done through a series of flash backs from both of their POVs. i don't know that Ms Silks has ever really done that for us before, but i really enjoyed it. It adds a depth to the story and the relationships that we would not have had otherwise.
We see Millie's troubled life - we see how she was bounced from foster home to foster home, and how she was abused, or neglected at each. It's only through the friendship of David in high school that we see hope - that Millie realizes that maybe it's ok to be just a little bit open to someone else. And it's through David that she meets her best friend in April - a girl who saves her in a sense - and gives her what she didn't have at least in friendship and material things in a girl.
There were a lot of under currents in this final story as well. We get the constant reminder of Mrs Bowers - the grandmotherly type who lives in the cabin down the road from David's family's cabin, and we learn bits and pieces about her past that really begins to make you scratch your head. It's not an ending that we all didn't see coming for miles, but its a nice one.
The twist that i don't know that i expected was how intermingled the Savages were. We know that Millie was spooked and running because Mark Savage was let out of jail early and he had a vendetta against her, but the 'why' behind it all, FAR FAR more complex than we ever thought - and i was impressed how well our author wrote that one in.
All in all, there was a great mix of anxiety, fear and passion / romance to make it a well balanced book. I'm a bit sad that it's coming to an end, but in the final notes, we see that there's something AMAZING coming out later this year from Lacey and i can't wait to see what that is
Perfectly Loved, is Lacey Silks’ final novel in the ‘Perfectly’ series, and tells the story of Dave and Millie. This was my first novel by Silks, and unfortunately I haven’t read the prequel and other novels in this series. Nevertheless, this novel can be read as a stand-alone and their story is easy to follow!
Millie has grown up with a very challenging past suffering through separation from family and bouncing around the foster system. Dave comes from a happy home with his Dad and sister, although his mother passed away years earlier. When Millie moves to a new foster home and starts at a new school, she immediately captivates Dave and all of his attention. Thus begins a whirlwind of romance, love, sadness, frustration, happiness, and so on! This novel is narrated by both Millie and Dave, but also jumps back and forth from present day, to childhood, to 12 years earlier, to 8 years earlier, etc. It seems that recently I’ve been reading quite a few novels that jump back and forth like this, however, Silks provides the reader with a deeper understanding of the bond between Dave and Millie by switching time periods.
Besides the element of romance and some hot, spicy moments between Dave and Millie, this novel also has many characteristics of a suspense or thriller. There are several instances of putting the reader on edge and wondering what will happen next, and honestly some tense, almost creepy moments. One of the “surprises” in the story line was not so surprising to me, however, there are still quite a few twists and turns that you will not see coming! At first I struggled with getting into this story and really investing in it, but after just a few chapters I was completely hooked on this novel! I must admit that I fell in love with Dave almost from the beginning (although he does screw up a few times), and just as equally despised the bad guy in the story. Silks’ imagery and characterization really brings everyone to life in this novel, making you feel as if you are watching a movie rather than reading a book.
Overall, I really enjoyed this novel and especially enjoyed a lot about Silks’ writing style. She doesn’t over-elaborate, but also provides the reader enough detail to reel you in and make you just fly through this novel to find out what happens! My only negative feedback is that this was the end of the series, leaving me wanting to know much more about Dave and Millie.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I was so excited to read Millie and Dave's story in the third book of the Perfectly series, especially after Lacey teased us with their kiss under the mistletoe in the holiday short story “Perfectly Kissed”. Of course Lacey Silks does it again... she brings the heat, suspense, and emotions and wraps it up into a story that enthralls with characters that become part of you. If you have read “Perfectly Equipped” and “Perfectly Seduced” and you thought Sean and April were hot then get ready for a scorcher with these two. Millie and Dave are mysterious, explosive, and will leave you in a puddle of goo. You can't help but fall perfectly in love after you read their story and experience their budding love, hurtful past, and heartbreak through both Millie and Dave's perspective. Lacey melds their past and present together beautifully so that we fully understand Millie and Dave's characters and love for one another.
Millie has lived a troubled life and has built a wall around her heart that starts to crumble from the moment she meets Dave. They have an unbreakable bond no matter the circumstances or people that try to come between them. It was at times heartbreaking to read the pain that Millie endures over the years but it gave me a profound respect for her and admiration for her strength. After all that she has been through she still has a sense of humor and believes in love, she just doesn't see a happy ever after in her own future.
Dave is an oh so sexy cop with a protective streak when it comes to Millie. From the moment he watched her kick her locker in anger in high school, she has found the combination to his heart and he vows to love and protect her no matter what the cost. I fell hard for him in all his sexiness and loved reading about him and Millie from their first touch of innocence and every fiery kiss there after. Not to mention his cute nicknames for her like muffin and cupcake and the way he spoke to her with so much love and affection, he had my heart fluttering.
Lacey Silks blows me away with her talent of creating a world that draws a reader in. She has mastered sexy suspense in a way that keeps her fans begging for more. More mystery, more steam, and more books in every series that keep us hooked. I highly recommend for lovers of romance that keeps you guessing, heated, and addicted to the characters that you will see again and again. With every book I am more in love with Lacey's writing and am always impatient for the next one.
Millie first appeared in Perfectly Equipped and Perfectly Seduced (must reads) as April’s spitfire and sarcastic smart mouth best friend. Perfectly Kissed is the beginning and a cliffhanger for Millie and Dave’s story. I counted the days until Perfectly Loved was available. Just a warning, it will make you cry. I figured Millie had a trouble past, hence using her smart ass mouth as a shield. Your heart will break for Millie when you read her story. Her mother was a drug addict and prostitute. Her father supplied her mother with drugs and used her body for his evil needs. Millie lived in constant fear of her parents. She suffered so much at their hands and the system that was supposed to protect her. Finally, in high school she meets Dave. He was different from anyone she had ever met. With his help, she was taken off the streets and placed in a good home.
Dave comes from a loving family. He’s never known what hunger feels like. He’s never been scared to go to sleep at night, or not feel safe in his own home. When he gets to know the new girl in school, he’ll do whatever it takes to make sure she’s fed and feels safe. With the help of his family, they give Millie a home and a true family. Dave knows Millie is the one for him. He’s willing to wait until she’s ready to trust him with her heart. While in college they decide to start their life together, but evil from Millie’s past isn’t about to let that happen. When Millie ends their relationship, Dave will do whatever it takes to get her back. But can he protect her when evil comes knocking again. Ms. Silks wrote Millie’s story perfectly and I absolutely loved it. It touches your heart with sadness and humor. Mrs. Bowers will make you smile….you’ll have to read the story to find out who the lively lady is If I read the Afterword correctly, Ms. Silks is moving on to a new series. I know whatever it is it will be great!!! But, I would like to read Justin’s story. Justin is Dave’s twin brother, but was mentioned only a few times. He seemed to be the shy and quiet one. You know what they say about the quiet ones ;)
I received a complementary copy of this book for an honest review. Lacey continues to bring nothing but the best with her latest novel, Perfectly Loved. Millie and Dave were meant to be from the moment they met. They were just young teenagers at that time but they were each others soul mates even if they didn't really know what that meant at the time. Millie came from a difficult childhood. Her mother was more interested in drugs and various men that taking care of her daughter. Because of her mother's choices, Millie is bounced from one foster home to another for years. She finally lands in what is probably the worst place possible but it also places her in the same high school as Dave. Dave is determined to at least be Millie's friend and this starts the chain of events that their lives lead for the next 12 years.
The story is told in present time from Millie's POV and the past is from Dave's. At first I didn't think I would like this but it really made the story perfect with the way everything played out. One of the kids from the foster home Millie was with last was determined to make her life a living hell. And he succeeded. Because of him, Millie was forced to leave the one person she felt safest with in order to try and protect someone she never even had the chance to get to know, her younger brother.
But lucky for Millie, Dave refused to completely give up on her and their relationship. He was willing to accept whatever she was able to give him until she was able to give him her all. Circumstances beyond what Dave could imagine took Millie away from him but he was willing to fight with everything he had to get her back.
Lacey never disappoints when she brings us a new novel with such wonderful and intriguing characters. I can't wait to see what she brings us next.
Millie has lead a hard life, mother and father always fighting, mother telling her she wished she was never born and finally she is placed in too many foster homes. When she ends up at Dave's school, Dave is drawn to her. He wants to know all about her and get close to her. He even followers her home or to the abandoned house where she is staying just to make sure she is safe. When the Queen "B" at school tricks her and tries to get her in trouble, it is Dave who stands up for her. Dave wants to protector her and Millie just wants to be left alone until she turns 18 and then she can take care of herself. When she meets Dave's family, she wants what he has, a family. She begins to trust Dave and she is not sure what to do with the feelings she has for Dave but she can't hide them for long. And Dave has know from the first time he saw her that he would love her forever. With tidbits from her past and a stalker/tormentor she will push those away that she loves in order to keep them safe. Dave and his twin Justin became police officers and Millie is working for Dave's father at the pathology lab. Can Dave save her before it is too late? Will she ever get her happily ever after? And will she find any members of her family left? This story will break your heart but Millie is strong but she will learn that she needs those that love her around to keep her strong. I wanted to reach inside my kindle to slap her upside her head to see that Dave would always be there for her. But she was trying to keep those she loved alive. I love Lacey Silks stories, they always pull me in from the beginning and not let you go until the end. Check out any of Lacey's stories and I hope you love them too. **Copy provided by the author in exchange for my honest review**
Perfectly Love is Perfectly written that will Perfectly touch your heart in so many ways. It's action packed and heartbreaking, heart-wrenching but it's so real as it can be! Praise for Lacey Silks as she did it again!
"And Option three?" "We can just go right upstairs to that attic, get naked, and do what i know we both want. Because sweet pea, that's where I'm planning to fuck you before you leave the mountains. I'll take you in my arms, flip you over on the same bed where we made love for the first time, and I will remind you exactly why we're so good together!" - Dave
Dave, oh...Dave! Is he so dreamy or what. He's so sexy, hot and dirty but with a very kind warm heart from the start! He loved Millie the moment he saw her and he did everything for her. Man, he worshiped her in every way. He'd drop anything and run to her if she needed him. He claimed her, owned her, loved her that Millie couldndn't resist him, deny him when he's around! Their intimate moments will make all your girly parts squirm and jealous and wished you wore Millie! Millie has too many baggage, too many skeletons on her closet from the past that raised up all her walls high and guarded. She's strong willed and determined to survive and fight whatever life throws at her. I feel so sorry for her but thank the stars and the universe for sending Dave to her way who loved her unconditionally. Dave and Millie is perfectly matched for each other. I'm sad that their story ended here and wished it was a little bit more of the happy part at the Epilogue! But I DO love this book... It's was so good, it hurts to put it down 'til it was done.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Perfectly Love is the third book in the series and I've loved each one so far. This the Millie and Dave's story that fans have anxiously awaited and it was well worth the wait. Millie has had a hard life being passed around from one home to another growing up. Because of this she is guarded and has issues with trusting anyone. She has walls built up around her. Is there any man that can break down those walls? Dave is a good looking police officer. He is caring, masculine, and he knows what he wants. He wants Millie and is persistent enough to wait for her as long as it takes. He knows that Millie is complicated, and that attracts him even more. When they were kids, Dave and Millie met in school. They were starting to getting close when Millie put a halt on it for reasons he could not understand. Patiently waiting, he hangs in there to let Millie get things going right in her life. Can he get her to trust him? I was excited to see the continuation of Millie and Dave's story. We only had a glimpse into their relationship from prior works. I as very happy to witness their HEA as these are my favorite type of books to read. This book will keep you excited and on the edge of your seat. You will not want to put this book down. I would suggest anyone that loves romance books to read this one. Lacey Silks is an awesome writer. She never lets you down. I say thanks to her for another outstanding book! I cannot wait to read the next one.
"She was nothing I expected and everything I wanted." - Dave
Dave falls for Millie from the moment he sees her. Their story is a bit complicated, but it’s a story of true and faithful love; a powerful love story.
We met Millie in Perfectly Equipped when she took her best friend April (Dave’s sister) on vacation to a nudist resort. Her childhood was a rough one. When she was taken from her mother, she ended up being bounced around from one foster home to another; each one getting worse than the last one. In spite of all this Millie is a loving and generous person; looking for her place on this earth. She has a rough exterior and is a survivor. Then she meets Dave Mayers and his family. They take her in and give her the family and the love she always yearned.
Once their romance takes off it is short lived. Through a series of events they get back together for short periods, but end up apart due to “something” that Millie won’t let Dave know. Through it all Dave never gives up on Millie or their love. In Lacey Silk style the twists and turns will have you guessing what will happen next. Once again, Lacey does not disappoint. If you like a hot devoted boyfriend (check), hot sex scenes (check), intrigue (check), suspense (check) and surprises (check).
I was provided with an ARC by the author in exchange for my honest review.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
So when we last read about Millie and Dave, in Perfectly Kissed, they seemed to have sorted their differences and their relationship. In Perfectly Loved we get to follow Millie's earlier moments in life and grow to understand how her rough upbringing has affected her decisions and life. Her mother is caught up in a bad relationship and involved in drugs. There is no one else to turn to when growing up and then she is separated from her little brother and later her mother as well. Dave finds her as a teenager at a particularly bad time and sets about rescuing her.
They have a deep connection right from the beginning, but things always seem to conspire to keep them apart. Anything and anyone Millie loves seems to be taken away, so she decides it is safer if she stays away from any idea of a relationship with Dave even though she thinks of him as her soulmate. With a evil lurking in the background this story has everything you need in a good book; romance, love, sizzle, mystery, twists and turns, a bit of evil and lots of suspense.
This book answered so many questions and had so many twists. I loved it. I especially love the end when it was revealed why Millie couldn't or wouldn't give in to her love for Dave. Can they overcome all the problems against them and find that perfect love with each other?
I will be looking out for more books by Lacey Silks.
If you love second chance romances this is an excellent book for you. Both Dave and Millie tell their story and it goes from the past to the present for each of them which I thought at first would be hard for me to follow but it is because of the storyline that you don’t lose anything. I loved this story of the girl who couldn’t catch a break to save her life and the guy from the perfect family who knew how to love the woman he wanted as his. He was so understanding and gentle but then could sure turn it up when it came to the love making. Millie was perfectly loved by the perfect guy. She was also very deserving of Dave and the love he and his family had for her.
Coming from the foster care system which had wronged her at every turn this girl deserved some happiness. Millie also knew how to look out for her own; she had a brother who was adopted and who she swore to find one day and she kept a lot of secrets and denied herself of happiness because of her love for Dave. This book will bring tears to your eyes at times but still has that hard edge and steamy passion that a lot of readers look for. So if you want to know what some of the secrets were and how they affected so many people you will have to pick this book up. It will leave you at times wondering what the heck just happened with all the twists and turns.

Dave and Millie. This is my 3rd book i've read from Lacey Silks. And it was not disappointing! I loved it. The drama, the story. The story was amazing. Dave is a guy who has been in love with Millie since He was 17 years old. He comes from a, i dont want to say rich, but they were pretty well taken care of. Millie on the other hand was a foster child, went from home to home until Daves family took her in at 17 years old. After they graduated they had a pretty good life. And suddenly Milles just gets up and leaves. Why, who knows. but all that gets answered in this wonderful book. There is a Novella that is the first book in this book/series. But i did not read it. It catches you up pretty quick. And it goes back and forth from teenage to present day. But its nothing that you can't follow.
So would i reread this book?! yes. Do i recommend this book?! Absolutely.
I recieved a copy of this book for my honest review !
Promise Quote! I promise to get made. I promise to make mistakes. I promise not to look or act perfect all the time. I promise to argue and to scream. I promise to tell you when you're not only wrong but also right. I promise to do and say stupid things i cannot explain. I promise to test your patience. I also promise to be real and honest. I promise to hug you whenever i can. I promise to stand by your side, to trust you, support you and believe in you. i promise to love you as perfectly as i can, forever.
Millie had a terrible start in life, she was passed around like a parcel, from home to home, her parents were useless, but you will see what I mean when you read this story, the author keeps things real, she has got this story so realistic you could imagine that being your friend or neighbour.
Finally, Millie finds Dave and her life starts to look much better, he is a rock for her, he is caring and asking for nothing like most have from her. Dave does grow to love her but he knows he has to wait and wait he does. He stands back and lets her heal and grow and he is always there. They are destined for each other, but can they actually get there? can Millie take down that huge brick wall she surrounded herself with to protect herself, can she let Dave love her, can she love him? Millie & Dave, oh my how I prayed for those two to be together, they were so right for each other, and Dave just waited and bid his time to get the lady he loved. That guy is a keeper for sure.
I Loved this exciting story, it was tense and thrilling and had me sat with baited breath waiting to get to the part where I found out the answer.
I received a copy of this story with the provision I left an Honest Review, which I have done.
