Poker players pick up bad habits. They use plays that are outdated, they make the same mistakes over and over, and they leave heaps of money on the table. This book was written to help you STOP! making those same mistakes. STOP! making the same mistakes as your opponents. STOP! getting crushed in your game. STOP! leaving stacks of chips on the table.
Decent, short book on common leaks. Not a whole lot of new information, but definitely good reinforce good habits. Good advice, but can be over simplified in certain points. For example, the advice to never limp into a pot may not be great if you are in a game where raising will still typically get you 4-5 callers. In these games, you're now forcing yourself to play bloated pots, taking away some of your post-flop skill advantage. Either way, this was a very short, quick read, and worth reading for someone who is already somewhat familiar with basic strategy for 1-2 cash games.
Right to the point. And all 10 are definitely worthy of being in a book on this STOP Doing topic.
Very quick read!
Overall, a little simple for me personally, as I'm already a RedChipPoker member. That being said, I will go back to this occasionally to make sure I haven't started doing some of these things.
Big thanks to Ed Miller, James Sweeney, Christian Soto, and Doug Hull. Keep it coming guys!
Enjoyable review of the biggest leaks small stakes players have that you need to boost your hourly rate and have solid fundamentals in _today's_ game. Would by 5-stars but the typos, grammatical errors, and formatting issues made it a tougher read than it needed to be.
