Emma is forced to have to convince Harry that the baby isn’t hers…..and find the baby’s real mother before her life gets way too complicated.
This story was very cute and sweet. Yes it was very short however it covered every aspect of the story. I would have liked a little more character detail and personality. But I really enjoyed. I could never imagine the hardships and stigmata of those days and what women had to do to get away from them. However this book outlines the trials of what extremes a woman would have to go to, to escape falsehoods of the time. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was amazing. She did bring more life to the story and kept a perfect pace. Her voice was beautiful to listen to.
Emma cannot be more embarrassed and humiliated to be jilted at the alter. Her family is devastated over this situation. What will she do now. Fortunately for her, she has been writing with a gold prospector in California and she receives a letter, asking to marry her. So Emma agrees to marry Harry. A mail order bride on a train, starting her new life. Of course, things are not that simple. Follow her journey to this new life of hers. Cute story and a quick read.
Mail order western story of Emma having to travel to California to find a husband after falsely being accused of inproperity resulting in a betrothed jilting her. She meets a single mom on the train there and she is left caring for the baby when his mom takes off. Emma settles into her life with her new husband. Emma and Mary reunite bringing baby William back to his mom. Narrator Meghan Kelly did a great job.
I listened to the Audible audio version of this book.
"Such An Excellent Mail Order Bride Story"
THE WESTERN TRAIN BABY was a great Mail Order Bride story. It was sweet. On the train heading west, Emma meets another woman headed west also, but she had a baby. Worried that she wouldn't be accepted, she excuses herself and leaves the baby with Emma and never returns. At first this starts a bit of a quibble but her awaiting hubby Harry is willing to accept the baby. Through their trials and tribulations, they strike it rich but have to make a life-changing decision.
EMMA ASHWOOD is a new Mail Order Bride author for me and I love her writing. These stories are so relaxing and good.
MEGHAN KELLY did a sensational job narrating this book. I've listened to her before and she's a wonderful voice actor. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to her read this story. I hope to hear her do more of these westerns.
I requested and was gifted this audiobook for an honest review.
I love to listen to these short stories when I know I only have a little while to listen. I enjoy listening to mail order bride stories, and I especially liked this one because it had a baby involved in it. Emma Ashwood's stories are Christian stories, but they aren't preachy, which I like. As usual, Meghan Kelly does an amazing job giving voice to the characters. I was given a copy of this audio book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
I can not understand why this Author never adds ,A Epilogue to her books. Maybe I Am Alone in this, But I feel like I have read some Books with No Ending So I do not follow this Author.
I like listening to mail order brides books. I've read a lot of books about mail-order brides book. Always catch my attention when I listen to these books about two random people marrying each other. I never knew it was such a thing.
