A SEAL team rescues a family from a vicious drug cartel, but at a cost. The family, including a battered and bleeding young woman, Lydia Hidalgo, must travel through the Mexican jungle to a spot where they will be airlifted to the US. That is, if they make it.

In the five day trek, SEAL Clint Archer becomes emotionally attached to her as he literally carries her out on his back.

Yet, with her father planning on testifying against the drug lord Guzman and the cartel, the family will be going into the Witness Protection Program, presuming they survive.

Romance may be deadly for the pair. Will they have their 'happily-ever-after' or will the cartel find them all and kill them? A contemporary romantic suspense novel with spicy scenes between Lydia and Clint.

Tons of typos, and/or spelling errors throughout the story. With a bit more editing, this could be a better novel...having to reread passages because of missing or added words was an issue for this reader; however, the price was right as it was purchased through the free or reduced cost Bookbub promotion.

The couple: Clint and Lydia

Romance genre: military; on the run
Series: Midnight Delta
Length: 226 pages

Plot: Lydia and her family have been captured and tortured, almost killed, by the cartel after her father worked with them. Clint and his team of Navy SEALs rescue them, and in the process, he falls in love with the brave and resourceful Lydia. But the cartel is not finished with her family and it will take Clint and his whole team to keep them safe.

Commentary: I could easily see why Clint fell for Lydia - she was brave, loyal, beautiful, smart. I did feel like there was some repetition with Lydia and her pushing Clint away. I thought it was a little funny that he was like, "Witness Protection? Nah, f-- those Marshalls!" (He did not say it like that. He was thinking it though, I know it).

Previous book in the series: Her Vigilant SEAL
Next book in the series: Her Steadfast Hero

Wow just WOW freaking amazing!!!

I have to be honest I don't usually like military books of any kind, but let me tell you I'm a fan now. I absolutely loved this book I'm hooked and can't wait to see what happens next. This is Clint and Lydia's story and let me tell you OMG what a story!!! Lydia and her family are kidnapped by the Mexican drug cartel. Lydia's father is to testify against them for the U.S so they send in the navy seals to rescue them. Lydia has taken one hell of a beating but that's ok with her cause the alternative was way worse. When Clint and the seal teams get there Lydia is in bad shape and they still have a five day walk out of the jungle. Clint is immediately taken with Lydia. Her strength, courage, and determination to save her sister. As they make it back to the states and realize that there gonna have to be put in witness protection Clint is not happy. With Lydia being in such bad health he wants to be with her. When the shit hits the fan and they realize that the Marshalls have been infiltrated by the cartel well the family be safe? When Clint realizes how much danger Lydia is in he calls in his friends to help. With everything seeming to come down around them will these two be able to stay alive long enough to realize how much they love and need each other? Can the Seals keep the family alive long enough to testify against the cartel leader? When new threats emerge can they pull together and save Lydia? I loved this book I can't wait to see the next book which I hope is Beth's and Jacks story!!! Y'all have to read this book I was captivated by it. Loved it

I fell head over heart for big strong SEAL Clint. I mean he is all kinds of alpha with a super sweet side to boot. Who knew that he's meet his match while rescuing her and her family from the jungle almost losing her to illness in the process. I loved him and Lydia together. They really were such a match. Both computer geeks with such big hearts just waiting to open up to each other. Now Lydia comes with a whole lot of baggage in the form of a cartel with a hit out on her, but Clint and his SEAL friends aren't going to let anything happen to her. I so loved their story and can't wait for more of this series.

I give Her Loyal Seal 5 hearts!

I normally really like Navy Seal romances, but this one is just a tad too badly written. It feels like a 16th year old has taken pen to paper. The characters are just cut outs and the dialogs are really boring.

This is a sweet and interesting hea for Clint and Lydia. Some twists, some steam, a couple surprising allies, and a whole lot of family - whether by blood or choice - all adds up to an enjoyable story.

DNF. Made it a little over half way and it got boring. The SEAL friends were corny, Clay/Clint/whatever his name was supposed to be the super protected but he felt more like a needy almost stalker.

It's amazing to see the strength and endurance that people can have. Its even more amazing to see them trust someone to lean on even with all that strength they carry. Lydia and Clint formed a bond so strong, that nothing in this world could break it. They say that if you have been in the most extreme circumstances together, you know more about each other in a shorter amount of time. Feeling these characters in my heart, I can tell you I believe that statement to be 100% true. The pain and suffering that Lydia goes through is heart wrenching. The strength she carries is admirable. The love she has is beautiful. Clint sees all of these qualities and can't stop himself from living her. These two were meant for each other.

I was provided a free copy of this story in return for an honest review.

While this story can be read as a stand alone, it is best read in chronological order. I adored Clint. He was devoted to Lydia before he really knew her. And then he learned just how strong she was and he was a goner. But could he convince Lydia to give them a chance. Lydia doesn't beleive she is worthy of Clint. He is a hero. She is not. But Clint sees past her family to the woman before him. He sees a woman just as nerdy as he is. He sees a woman who is honorable and loyal. He sees his future. I loved seeing him convince Lydia. I loved seeing Lydia fight not only herself but Clint. I was sure that Ms. O'Leary would give us a story that was real and heartfelt. And I wasn't disappointed. Lydia could not seem to catch a break but she is determined to do the right thing. She refuses to let Clint see her as a victim. I love that Ms. O'Leary gave us a female character with a spine of steel, determination and a brain. She also gave us a male character that appreciated those qualities even as the made him a bit uneasy. This story is well written and full of emotion depth. The characters felt real and the story was full of twists and turns. I can't wait to see where Ms. O'Leary will take us next.

Not gonna lie, this book was just a jumble of nonsensical words that were weirdly put together.

I knew what was happening, but I didn't know what was happening. It makes no sense, but that's how I felt about this book.

Frankly, I don't know what this book was. We were dropped in the middle of a romance that seemed to happen really quickly and then we were given an ending that didn't really seem like an ending. It felt as if we were placed in the very middle of a romance.

All in all, this book was strange in how it was written. There was this whole storyline that I couldn't comprehend in its entirety. Like I said, I knew what was going on, but at the same time, I didn't.

2 stars. Recommend as something light and fluffy.

Great Series

I started reading this series on book 3. Then I had to go back and read them all. Each book can be read as a stand-alone. Each book has a separate couple with a tale of action adventure, healing wounds, both physical and emotional, and taking down the bad guys. My kind of books, love them. But I highly recommend you read them in order. You will get so much more cohesiveness out of the series. One book builds upon the next, or sets the stage for the next book. This is a great series and I am looking forward to many more books, please.

I have an ongoing problem with infantilizing the women in many of the romance novels I read, and this is one of them. (Ironically, the book that follows this one shows this same heroine as a much stronger character, but infantilizes her younger sister.)

There are also significant editing issues, with missing words, missing punctuation and an overall frustrating inability to present the story correctly. I am certain this author, with as many books as she has written, can afford an editor or proofreader before her books are released to the world.

the first book in this series is good, I read books to escape reality and, so I can overlook that the SEAL's are men from fantasy land. No man can be this perfect. I won't touch on how the SEAL's are able to "protect" their women without repercussions. This book, the second in the series is almost cookie cutter, where the story continues, mannerism's are the same, so reading book is almost deja vu where the H/h are concerned. The h's from book 1 and 2 both have self esteem issues but occassionally get a "back bone". Both h's always put others before them.

Needs better editing

Exact quote, "She scooched over to the side of the side of the bed near the door and peered under the dust ruffle". Which phrase is out of place? Is this to increase word count so these books are considered novels instead of novellas, or to increase the price? I am sorry to be so condemning but your readers deserve good quality along with a good story for their money.

The first in the series was pretty decent so I was excited to read this one. I couldn't even make it halfway. The entire thing is just the 2 main characters talking about how they liked each other but shouldn't be together. The male character was bossy, unlikeable, and constantly interrupting the female and telling her what to do. Most of the book was just him being overbearing towards her and her getting upset about it but not doing anything about it.

When Clint and his Seal Team were sent into rescue a family I the Mexican jungle he never thought he could be so protective over one family member . Lyndia had been wiped so bad on her back when they got there . He wanted nothing more than to get her and her family out of that jungle and make anyone pay for her pain that got in his way ... Great book

Read the first one and thought it was okay, had the boxset (downloaded free) so moved onto this book. Have to say I found it really uninspiring. Both main characters are very gushy about each other, particularly the H who is very effusive in his admiration of Lydia. I got bored of reading how brave and strong and selfless she was! I really didn’t care. Don’t think I’ll bother with the last book.

Better than the previous one, but this heroine also has a bit of too stupid to live going on. Not as bad as the one from the last book, but still kind of tiring.

*** I voluntarily reviewed this book, I gained no monetary incentives nor was I specifically requested to review the book, these are my honest ramblings and I hope you enjoy reading them - kat***

Lydia Hidalgo is a very lucky lady ( Well I guess she wasn't when she was kidnapped) but when she has 'Her Loyal SEAL' Clint Archer and his teammates to rescue Lydia and her family from their captors, she is one lucky lady.

Clint has to carry Lydia for five days through the hellish conditions the jungle throw at them and by the time she is in the hands of doctors who are trying desperately to save her life, Clint is head over heals in love with this tough and smart lady, the fact that they are both Computer nerds fulfilled my geeky heart!

Clint - well he was just 'Sigh' strong, loyal and determined to ensure Lydia survived and not only that got to spend the rest of her life happy and with him.
Reaching civilization is not the end of this story, oh no - the team have a hard task on their hands keeping The Hidalgo family from the clutches of the Mexican cartel leader Guzman.

The story is full of suspense and twists and turns, and I had a few catch my breath moments when I thought that Ms O'Leary was going to make me cry both in anguish and finally by the end that "ahhh" moment! I can't tell you which one, because that will spoil the story for you.

Ok... the first book in this series I gave it three and 1/2 stars b/c I had a hard time reading it due to the grammar and missing words so to speak. I assumed it had to do with the transfer of amazon to my kindle... hey Technology sometimes does that... but after reading this book I still spotting grammar and technical errors. Which I had a hard time overlooking. The author is only good as her editor! Believe me, I love my editor and we go over every chapter twice maybe three or four times before it hits the printed. It's just hard to read a good story and to try and over look this things.

With that being said... I did love how the author pick right up were we left off with the last book... note if you did not read the first book then you will be lost. I did have a hard time how it just ended without going more in depth, but I am hoping it is due to the next book in the series will give us a better understanding. I do love cliff hangers and I give them all the time in my books.

I think this plot was well thought out and easy to follow. I enjoy the characters and hoping to see each one fall to the love spell that each woman will cast upon them. Please keep writing and I will keep reading.

When Clint and his team rescue Lydia and her family from the Mexican cartel in the jungle, he forms a bond with her that keeps drawing him back to her side. And that's the only thing that saves her life once the cartel finds her and is determined to finish the job.

Lydia is no ordinary damsel in distress - she's got mad skills that are in some cases better than Clint's. Together they hit the road, go into hiding, and use every available tool in their combined arsenals to shut down the cartel for good.

This author brilliantly uses the suspense and drama as a backdrop to the emotional development as Lydia and Clint realize how perfectly suited they are for each other. Lydia is strong enough to allow Clint to help her when she needs it, and Clint is strong enough to know that she doesn't always need it. These two are sizzling together, with some very sweet scenes that remind us all how true love is the only thing worth fighting for.

The story can be a bit far-fetched at times as Clint and his SEAL team are the only government agents truly above suspicion, but it never quite goes over the top. We know going in that the SEALs are the heroes, and the story showcases exactly why that works.

While this book is a standalone romance, Lydia's sister is also on the run and her story is told in the next book of this series.

Her Loyal SEAL- Midnight Delta Book 2

This is an amazing addition to the Midnight Delta series with Clint, their computer specialist finding the love of his life, Lydia after they saved her and her family from the cartel where they were being tortured in Mexico. Clint carried Lydia after they had almost whipped her back to shreds through the jungle to their helicopter. This is how their love story begins as Mason's SEAL team protects Lydia and her family so her father can testify against the cartel that he had been working for. It is an exciting suspenseful story as they capture the drug lord and find out more people were involved that wanted to kill Lydia and her whole family to stop her dad from testifying. Clint and Lydia's love story is so romantic as he saved her time and time again. They are well matched because they are both computer geeks as well. They get their happily ever after at the end but the story leaves you hanging as they are still looking for the drug lords son who is trying to capture Lydia's sister, Beth. I cannot wait to read that storyline and see how things turn out. I do highly recommend this fantastic series.

1 SEAL, 2 SEAL, 3 SEAL..... DONE FOR.

I just thought the first book made me want a SEAL.... Caitlin O'Leary has a talent for describing physically perfect men and keeping the personalities so different. I honestly don't know how she does it. With these 2 books she's followed an entire team of SEALS and each book you learn a bit more. I love it.

Clint and Lydia had more than a rough start and it didn't seem like they would ever get a break. It was always one thing after another but seeing Lydia stay so strong during it all made me love her character. (Maybe even more then Clint!)

Once again, there is some triggers within in this one, however I don't feel it goes into so much depth of the subject; which was perfect. Sometimes triggers go into great detail and make me want to put the book down. This author has a way of throwing it out there but not solely focusing on it so it doesn't hit you where it hurts.
As far as the story itself, yeah it's gunna hit you in the heart. Two characters stood out the most with this one and I can't wait to continue the series so I can learn even more about them.
Definitely a must read series. Now....onto book 3!!! Yay!!!
