It is a novella about a vampire hunter who is on his quest to destroy a vampire clan in Tokyo, and said clan is somewhat related to a mysterious handsome gothic rock/visual kei rockstar called Mayu. The encounter of the hunter and the poet ensures.
The story is short---perhaps a bit too short so the relationships among the vampires and the rockstar are not fully explained and explored, nor have those vampires' personalities been given enough attention. However, I love the scenes written by the author (especially the concert scenes and the fight scenes), I love how he wrote the charm of the mysterious rockstar and how crazy the fans can get in his presence and how his music can get them longing for death and destruction (all of these are written in a cool, scary and dark way).
I love the sharp-as-knife and coolly written dialogues among characters, I am also kind of impressed by the rockstar's insight about life and death and his relationship with his female 'manager'.
To sum up, it's a novella fitted to be translated into manga or movie forms. So I give it a 'Wish I Could Write Like This' four stars.
