I know Sibichen K. Mathew, he is a fantastic speaker and carries him with the values and ocean of knowledge. When he came to our club, he introduced this book to us. Later I bought this book in Amazon. He wrote about 50 types of leaders., their mannerisms, detailed analysis about them and remedy from them. Why I am talking about remedy! he given solutions for tackling the knack, outsmart, horrible, lost managers. For every episode, he given prescription, precaution, precept for organization and signs of recovery. He still not finished, if we were the boss, are we good in what terms, to analyze us, he given wonderful exercises and score card where we can self analyze ourselves. Book is in simple language with lot of content, author referred around 143 books to write the wonderful manual to us.
Books like these will improve the aura of management.
The book is not wrong about when the boss is wrong. Sibichen expresses what he wants to in quite simple style, but retaining an emphatic undertone as well. He talks about the characteristics that make a bad boss, but also, in a way, emphasizes how the boss can change, or what the characteristics of a good boss could be. I wouldn’t say it was a favorite read, but it was definitely an engaging and interesting book. It would appeal to a lot of people.
The prescriptions at the end of each chapter talk to each of these roles: the boss, the subordinate, and the organization as whole. The readers can definitely identify with a few of these negative traits and even connect a few to themselves or their current and past bosses. And along the way make sure that they do not fall in these unwanted, disliked behavioral patterns as bosses or subordinates. ~ http://bookreviews.infoversant.com/wh...
Nicely written and puts you in different shoes to get perspectives Definitely will recommend to someone who is (thinks he is) dealing with a tough boss
Good read with multiple examples and do so-I could see mine and other bosses commit many of these-and after such graphic examples I would not repeat this.
