In a poignant romance from the author of This One Moment (“Hot, intense, and filled with emotion.”—Rachel Harris), the rock stars of Pushing Limits have hit the big time. But fame gets tough when love presents a fork in the road.
At twenty-one, Jared Leigh had been prepared to give up the life of a touring musician to be a father after getting his girlfriend pregnant. When she told him that she’d gotten an abortion, Jared was devastated. Now at least he has the groupies to keep him company—until a blast from the past rocks his world.
Callie Talbert hasn’t seen her sister’s ex since high school. But after Callie bumps into Jared while she’s grocery shopping with four-year-old Logan, there’s a spark that wasn’t there before. Jared quickly realizes that her deaf “son” is the same age his own child would have been. When Jared demands to know more about Logan, Callie panics. There are things she just can’t tell him. Besides, Jared’s a bad-boy rocker, not a dependable father figure. He’ll move on to his next gig soon enough . . . right?
Trouble is, Jared refuses to be pushed away, and the more quality time he spends with Logan, the more he’s captivated by the woman Callie has become. When the truth is revealed, Jared only hopes that the three of them have what it takes to become a real family.
Born in Brighton England, USA Today bestselling author Stina Lindenblatt has lived in a number of countries, including England, the US, Finland, and Canada. This would explain her mixed up accent. She has a kinesiology degree and a MSc in sports biological sciences. In addition to writing fiction, she loves photography, and currently lives in Calgary, Canada, with her husband and three kids.
Jared Leigh never thought father hood would be in his future, not as a young twenty-one year old, ready to set off after his dreams. When his girlfriend tells him that she's pregnant, though, he's ready to give up his future plans for the unborn baby. But then he's given the devastating new that his girlfriend decided to have an abortion. So he leaves, never looking back, and makes his music dreams come true.
Fast forward to a few years later, Jared is a successful musician and at the top of his career. Back home for a break before tour, he runs into his ex's sister in the grocery store. And her four year old son. Callie panics and tries to get away before he can ask her anything about her son. But Jared doesn't want to let Callie go after finding her again after so many years. But Callie knows the truth about the past will have to come out, and she know's he won't stick around after that.
There really needs to be more books with Heroes that have kids, because it does things to me. Glorious things, including the melting of my ovaries. Jared was so adorable with Logan, and I loved how he even started to learn sign language for him. It made me like Jared way more than I thought possible.
Jared and Callie were good together and I liked when we finally got to see them happy with one another. It wasn't an easy journey they had to travel to get to that point, but it was a great one to read about. I enjoyed seeing how they were trying to fight the attraction, but couldn't.
Overall, I enjoyed Jared and Callie's story and I would recommend it for anyone that likes a friends to lovers story, and seeing a hot Hero with his cute little boy. Don't get me wrong, Callie was a wonderful mom to Logan, but Jared was the parent that was almost too cute to handle.

He tasted me, consumed me . . . made me feel like the earth was shaking under my feet.
3 years ago Callie Talbert’s life changed forever when she lost her parents and sister in a tragic accident. Thrust into the role of mother as the guardian to her infant nephew, Callie put her dreams on hold to do what was best for little Logan. Unfortunately, abiding by her sister’s wishes meant she never told her childhood friend, Jared, that he’s a father.
Jared Leigh’s life is finally headed in the right direction. As the guitarist for an up and coming band that’s finally starting to get the international attention it deserves, Jared doesn’t have time for personal relationships. Good thing he’s got nothing tying him down. When he runs into Callie, old friend and little sister of his ex, he can’t help but want to reconnect. Callie and Jared were always tight as kids, so why does she seem to be pushing him away now?
She might’ve been wearing baggy jeans and an oversized white T-shirt with paint splattered on it, but the awkward thirteen-year-old had clearly grown into the woman I had predicted she would be. A beautiful, curvy, sexy woman.
My favorite aspect of this story was the progression of Logan and Jared’s relationship. For someone that proclaimed he wasn’t sure he ever wanted to be a father, it was love at first sight when it came to his son.
Where this book failed me was with the love story between Jared and Callie. It felt completely disjointed and I’m sorry to say I just couldn’t connect with the pair together. One minute Jared’s completely pissed at Callie for the secret she’s kept and the next he’s contemplating something more with her. It’s inferred Callie had a crush on Jared as a teenager but that’s told more than shown and I guess I needed a little more of the past connection between the two if I’m expected to buy the current love story.
While Song for You didn’t always work for me, I actually really enjoyed the writing overall. Any and everything involving Logan together with the couple captivated me. Unfortunately I just couldn’t connect with the romance aspect of the story in the same way.

BOOK REVIEW: My Song for You BOOK SERIES: Pushing Limits #2 AUTHOR: Stina Lindenblatt GENRE: Contemporary Romance PUBLICATION DATE: September 6, 2016 CLIFF HANGER: No
4 Stars
SYNOPSIS: In a poignant romance from the author of This One Moment (“Hot, intense, and filled with emotion.”—Rachel Harris), the rock stars of Pushing Limits have hit the big time.
Trouble is, Jared refuses to be pushed away, and the more quality time he spends with Logan, the more he’s captivated by the woman Callie has become. When the truth is revealed, Jared only hopes that the three of them have what it takes to become a real family.
MY THOUGHTS: This is the second book in the Pushing Limits series, but can be read as a standalone. I really enjoyed this book! The characters were well developed and add in adorable four-year-old Logan, and you have a winner. He stole your heart from the start!
Jared & Logan
The story takes up where This One Moment left off and you don’t have to know anything about this book to continue on with this story. SL does a great job of incorporating them in the story without you feeling like your missing something. The rest of the Pushing Limits band is very entertaining, especially Mason the drummer, he is a prankster and a man-whore! I can’t wait for him to have a book!
Callie
Callie and Jared have known each other a long time, were neighbors and childhood friends, even though he is four years older than Callie. She has had a crush on Jared, even while he was hooking up with her older sister. There was no love involved between Jared and her sister, just hot sex. There were no promises and no future for them. They were just friends with benefits. Then she became pregnant. Jared was 21 at the time and was willing to give up Pushing Limits to become a father, but then she told him she aborted the baby and tore his heart out. He was devastated and felt hollow ever since.
Fast forward four years, on a break in the Pushing Limits tour schedule, Jared runs into Callie and her son in the grocery store. He always thought Callie would grow up to be a beautiful woman, but when she was standing in front of him, she was breathtaking. He wanted to renew their friendship. He had no idea all the turmoil he was creating for Callie by trying to renew their friendship. There are so many feelings in this book! You are happy because Callie can renew her friendship with her crush, but then there are heart wrenching things that happen as the story unfolds. There are secrets, lies, betrayal, devastating loss, misunderstanding, miscommunication, loss of dreams and a soul deep love that you can feel between Jared and Logan, as well as the love growing between Jared and Callie.
I am not going to tell you anymore. There is so much to experience in this friends to lovers story that it needs to be savored and enjoyed. Your heart will be on a roller coaster of emotion, but you never stop rooting for Callie, Logan and Jared. Wonderful story!

Yet another powerful novel by Stina Lindenblatt – wow.
Is it just me or are the plotlines getting better by the book. Well at least I believe that the storytelling is getting stronger for sure.
I think it can not be long now until this author makes the final 5th star her own with me …
It is not that those plotlines are so unique that they have never been told before – no – that would be exaggerated . It is more the way this author tells them. I have read now several books from her and she even managed to “sell” me a sports novel in a way that I could relate to it – so far, my extend in sports started and ended with boxing and MMA fights and I am ok with that.
To be honest – at the beginning I did not like Callie very much – because she kept something from Jared that I personally feel she had no right to unless she had good reasons and her reasons were not good enough for me.
I can not venture into explaining good reasons as that would spoiler to much. Only so much has to be said – I understand loyalty but there is also a false loyalty
Jared is a great guy – I am thinking very hard just now if there was anything about him that I disliked. God I even loved his mother – and I think not everybody can say that about her (book)boyfriend.
As with her other novels – Ms. Lindenblatt creates a vivid picture of the characters and their surrounding environment. This makes it easy for the readers to envision the story while reading it – and I admit I stood in a supermarket at one point and was trying to get stuff from a shelf – thinking “WHERE ARE THOSE JAREDS” when you need them.
MY SONG FOR YOU will break your heart and put it back together again. I absolutely loved it! You will feel like you are a part of these characters' world, their heartbreak and triumphs, and when you get to the end, you'll want to go back to the beginning and start it all over again. Love, love, loved!
I already loved the first Pushing Limits novel and been excited about its sequel and if it could live up with my expectations.
I immediately felt back at home in the story and the band setting. Jared and Callie were amazing characters and I loved them from the first moment. They had a very sparkling and sizzling chemistry and I loved them together. I loved Callie's strength as well as Jared caring for Callie and Logan. Logan was an absolute sweetheart, I fell in love with the little boy.
The love story was realistic, although a bit too cheesy in the end, but overall I loved every minute I could spent with the characters. The story had me at the edge of teary eyes several times
The author's writing style is absolutely capturing and hope there will be books about the other band members soon.

4 “Pick You” Stars
Jared is the lead guitarist in the up and coming band Pushing Limits. On the outside it looks like his life is made. Fame, money, girls anytime he wants, an on again off again super model girlfriend, and band mates that have become like family to him. But on the inside he is restless. His life is missing a purpose that he just can’t seem to figure out.
Back in LA to regroup before their next promo tour Jared runs into a blast from his past at the grocery store. The one thing he didn’t expect was for her to have a kid. That more than anything threw him for a loop. Considering her sister aborted his child about five years ago. But no matter what happened in the past there is something about Callie that makes him want more.
Callie has been in love with Jared since she was a kid when he was fooling around with her older sister. For her to run into Jared after all these years is pretty much a dream come true. Except for the fact that Callie is holding onto one heck of a secret. One that when Jared finds out will flip his life upside down.
I really enjoyed this book. It was pretty low on the angst which was not entirely a good thing but also kind of a plus if that makes any sense. There were a couple of parts that I wished for just a bit more conflict to come into play. But it all came together nicely without it so it’s not like the added drama was really needed. Just a personal preference I guess.
I loved how we got more out of the band members of Pushing Limits in this one. Opposed to the first one where they were only minor characters. I felt that it helped to add even more layers to this book as well as help lay the ground work for the following books. Which I completely look forward to reading once they are released.
** I received an advanced readers copy from Loveswept via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!**
My Song For You is the second book in the Pushing Limits series but can be read as a stand alone. Each book is about a different band member. I had the opportunity to read This One Moment first but it is not necessary in order to follow along.
I seriously think that this series is getting better with each book. This One Moment was decent but My Song For You was so much better. The characters were more likeable, there was more chemistry, the plot was easier to follow and it gave me way more feels.
The story was by no means unique or original but Lindenblatt made it feel like it was with the way she captured the emotions between Callie and Jared. Finding love can be a complicated thing but even more so when you throw in secrets, lies and a 4 year old boy. I feel like she did a great job of capturing the turmoil that both characters were dealing with.
I adored Callie and Jared but Logan stole the show for me. Every part in the book where there was any kind of interaction with him I found myself smiling. Probably the reason that I liked Callie and Jared so much was because of how they interacted with him and the way that no matter how complicated things got, they never used him as a pawn. They always had his best interest at heart.
This book is a finish in a few hours kind of book filled with romance, misunderstandings, lies and a whole lot of heat. It has everything to satisfy the romance itch in all of us. In my opinion, this series is getting better with each instalment. I can't wait for the next one!
Callie was a strong and resilent heroine that I admired. Jared was sexy and sweet and made me swoon. But it's four-year-old, hearing-impaired, Logan who stole the show--and my heart. This is my favorite Stina Lindenblatt book to date. Loved it like crazy.
I very much loved My Song for You by Stina Lindenblatt. There was something special about this couple who had known each other as children and teenagers, the way fate put them together after 5 years of not seeing one another, and the rough road to find their happy place.
Jared's life is in a good place; his band Pushing Limits is getting ready to drop their second album, their tour was a success and they will soon find out who they'll be opening for on their second tour, his friends are all doing well and his family is always there for him when he needs them. He was happy for his best friend and the band's lead singer who found the love of his life, but he was feeling a bit lonely and left out. When he runs into Callie, the younger sister of a woman he use to date, and her 4 year old son he can't believe how easy it is to talk to her and he's enthralled with Logan's questions and openness.
There is no doubt Callie made some critical errors both in this book and in the year's prior when she became Logan's guardian. She has struggled working a full time job, working on her degree, learning to deal with Logan's deafness and learn sign language, his medical bills and life in general.
While I do believe part of the decisions she made were made while she was grieving, she could have made one or two phone calls and made her life so much easier. I don't feel she made decisions that were best for Logan; they were more about her and what would happen if she made those calls.
I'm sure there will be people who will be angry with the Jared went about finding out that Logan was his son and the way he handled it immediately after he found out, but personally I can understand his reasoning for doing the paternity test on his own and for him being angry and needing some time to process it all. I'll also state that bringing in his on again/off again girlfriend felt like a way to manipulate the plot, add some unneeded angst, and honestly it wasn't necessary and then she just kind of disappeared. I have to give huge, huge kudos to Jared for not only accepting his son (even before he knew), for working to learn sign language to communicate better with him, for figuring out a way for him to enjoy music with him, and for giving Logan lots of extended family including his band mates who adored him from the start.
Callie and Logan had some things to work through, but their friendship from years ago coupled with the way the enjoyed spending time not only together but with Logan made them both willing to work at their problems, forgive and move forward.
Despite the issues I had, I loved My Song for You; the plot was complex, the characters engaging and the love story realistically challenging.
What a beautiful story! Callie has a lot on her plate. She works a thankless job as a waitress; runs an online business; takes classes towards her Graphic Arts degree and tries to be a full-time mother to 4 year old Logan. When she runs into rock-star, Jared Leigh, after 5 years, her heart holds hope that maybe she can finally be with the man she has loved since she was a teenager. But there is a huge secret that Callie is concealing and if it is revealed, numerous lives and relationships could be destroyed.
A super sweet and sometimes frustrating story. Jared is a very stable guy who is involved in a very demanding job of a rising Rockstar. He has a really great family.
Logan has been cared for by his aunt as his mom because she's all he's ever known. Callie only has Logan.
Until Callie and Jared run into each other at the grocery store and feelings run warm between the three of them.
Nice standalone yet you can feel that Nolan might of had his story and others could follow. Nice job. ARC Netgalley
I'm a bit disappointed with the story. The plot was sounding so good but the story was lame. Yes,he was a rock star (but sweet and with his head on Earth) and yes,she was his aunt but she takes care of Logan and that is it. No angst,no connection between H/h. I realy thought that this will be top 2016 read and sadly it was not.
I received a copy of this title to read and review for Wicked Reads
3 Ethically & Morally Bankrupt Stars, and not on the rock star's part.
1) No doubt my tagline got your attention. 2) I'm going to be the annoying reviewer who can't let it go. 3) I read the book in its entirety, and while I can see why romance fans will go googly-eyed over it, I'm too ethical, too serious, too stick-up-my-bum to not vent. 4)I'll try to review it once I've let off the steam, because all those 4 & 5 stars are accurate from the 'romance' standpoint.
Hands down, I couldn't stomach the actions, behavior, and mentality of the 'heroine' in My Song for You, which makes enjoying a book impossible when you don't like one of the two narrators. I couldn't buy into the romance, as I wasn't on the bandwagon of singing Callie's praises.
Give her ten jobs, taking a double-major of courses, have her struggle, and remove all friends and family, have her be self-conscious about everything, but it doesn't erase what she's done when there was no logical reason for it to take place. The guilt- I kept thinking, how could anyone sleep at night after doing this?
Obviously the reader gets the gist of what the book entails from the blurb. 5 years ago, Jared was told by his ex that she was pregnant, and a few days later she said she had an abortion... she didn't. I'm not a mother, and every mother will disagree with me- that is a woman's right to choose, UNLESS & UNTIL a child is born. Then the father has equal rights to the child they helped create.
If this book had been written in reverse, the uncle to the child would have been arrested by the true mother, and every female on the planet would have agreed. But since this is romance, we're just to overlook the morally and ethically bankrupt actions on the part of a pair of sisters.
I could have bought into the premise if Alexis & Callie had an actual 'reason' for withholding a father from the child. After the death of her entire family, Callie played the martyr instead of contacting the father. While the reader is to empathize with Callie (which I could), we're subjected to how 'giving', 'sweet', 'kind', and 'pitiful' Callie is, when it's all a guise for manipulative, ILLEGAL behavior.
Why am I so angry? Because in reality, where this happens every day, where mothers use an agenda, use children as weapons, and withhold rights out of spite, the child is left feeling unwanted, as if half of the whole doesn't want them. But the real issue is when the truth comes out, how it wasn't that their father didn't love them, they didn't know the child existed, the child feels betrayed by the only person they ever trusted, creating a vicious cycle of behavior, where the child hates themselves.
Callie wasn't betraying Jared, having him miss out on 4 years of his son's life- she was betraying Logan. She was being selfish- not out of love for Logan, but possession.
Every time Logan brought up the fun things Ben did with his dad... that was Callie's fault, not Jared's. Logan had a dad, and Callie made sure Logan didn't have those experiences.
This behavior was exploited, and written away as romantic. Jared was not abusive. In fact, both sisters were in love with him. So why not tell him the truth so the child could have this amazing person as a dad? "It was just a hookup after we broke up." With the lame excuse, "Alexis felt you were too talented to be tied down to a kid... or Logan deserved more than having a father who was touring." That's not being selfless. Basically, Callie was saying, "Logan is better off with no dad, because I don't think you'd be a good one because you're a musician, but I'm going to lust after you like a groupie."
That's insulting to Jared.
Even if Jared toured a few months a year, at least Logan would have had a father every day of his life, grandparents, aunt and uncle, and cousins. An entire family who loved him. Not just one singular person who was hiding to keep Logan as a possession.
If this excuse can fly for touring musicians, what about military personnel? Do they not deserve their child? Doesn't their child deserve their parent? Just because they may not be able to be there every single day?
Sorry, no matter how you slice it, it's gross. No matter how flowery, how romantic, how martyred and pitiful Callie was written, it tainted the story.
*end rant*
Now onto the review. I loved Jared, his entire family, Logan, the band, and the new puppy. What I didn't like is how empathetic Jared was, which made him look weak, a doormat, with no self-respect. Jared wasn't angry enough to fit true human emotions. The level of betrayal would take more than a kiss and a pout, and your friends telling you to stop being 'mean' to the woman who essentially stole your child (as I said, reverse it, and the male version of Callie would have been in prison).
Callie was angry that Jared was angry at her. Over and over again, when she should have felt guilty, the pitiful, "He only sees me as a little sister. He doesn't want me," would pop out, when I thought he should have seen her in prison, not his bed or heart. I wanted Callie to just once think, "My actions are hurting Jared and Logan. Why am I doing this?"
I get that this adds an extra layer of forbidden, maybe love-hate to the storyline, but the level of betrayal was never address. How could Jared, his family, and the bandmates ever trust Callie? It would take months, if not years, before that trust could be rebuilt.
I agreed that Callie should still be mother, a position she had no right to steal, for the sake of Logan. But any and all romance shown I couldn't buy, not so quickly, with no buildup or trust rebuilt. Callie made Logan feel as if he should be the one to be apologetic, and I don't understand that ethically bankrupt mentality.
However, I believe anyone who doesn't get stuck on the major plot point of the novel will find it decadently addictive and romantic.
I got my hands on the ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review and… well, I have some mixed feelings… there were aspects of this book that I really loved… but on the other hand there were some parts of it that I wasn’t a fan of… I definitely had troubles when it came to rate this story, but after some thoughts I ultimately landed on 4 stars… although it’s probably closer to 3,75, but I decided to round it up ;) and don’t be discouraged by the fact that it’s book #2 in a series, because it works perfectly well as a standalone ;) it was in fact the very first book written by this author that I’ve read ;) so now let me tell you a bit more about the story ;)
Let me start with our main couple… Callie and Jared… *sighs* I’m gonna tell you some stuff now, but they can’t be considered spoilers, since they appear in the synopsis, so you can’t get mad at me ;) plus, everything is revealed, at least to the readers, very early in the book soooo… here goes ;) Jared got Callie’s older sister pregnant a few years ago, but when she told him that she aborted the baby, they lost touch… now back in the present, he bumps into Callie with a young and deaf boy and soon after he starts to get some suspicions… don’t worry, I’m not gonna spoil you why exactly it’s Callie who takes care of little Logan, but rest assured there’s no baby mama drama in this book ;) so now that you got that little explanation, let me tell you something about them… like with the whole book, there were things I really liked about them, and also things that were pretty annoying… but I’m gonna start with the good stuff ;) I loved how good Callie was with Logan, how hard she fought for his happiness and the way she did her best to provide for him… I also really liked Jared… the way he handled the unexpected news, and the way he acted in a quite mature way when you think about the whole situation... I liked them a lot individually, at least throughout the majority of the book, and I adored how they slowly kept gravitating together… well, that is until near the end of the book, when I felt that the story suddenly kicked into much higher gear, and because of that the whole resolution between our main couple felt rushed to me… I know that I’m being vague, but I can’t tell you more details without spoiling events from the second part of the book, and I don’t want to do that ;) so hopefully what I wrote will be enough to share with you my feelings without actually spoiling you things ;)
Besides the main couple there were of course quite a few secondary ones as well ;) mainly Jared’s bandmates from Pushing Limits ;) there’s Nolan and his girlfriend Hailey, who already got their own book ;) they appear in this story, but without major spoilers about how they got together, and I’m definitely curious to read more about them ;) besides Nolan and Jared, there are three more guys in the band: Mason, Aaron and Kirk ;) all of them got a few scenes in this story, but it was enough for me to get interested in them ;) although I have to say that I would love to read about Mason next ;) and of course last but not least is little Logan ;) he was definitely a very cute kid ;) I especially loved his interactions with some unexpected people ;) don’t worry, I’m not gonna spoil you this lovely surprise ;)
All in all it was a pretty good book ;) I was really looking forward to reading it and it started off great… especially since it was written in 2 POVs, and you all know how much I love to be able to get inside the heads of our main couple ;) I loved both of them, and the interactions between them from the start… and for the longest time I was sure it’s going to be a fantastic read… unfortunately for me the situation changed in the second part of the story… some decisions made by both Callie and Jared felt too child-ish, especially since we are talking about two adults who should also be thinking about a kid in all the mix between them… and like I mentioned before, the end resolution between them felt a bit sudden and rushed… for a second there I was sure that I skipped a chapter or two, but no… I read all there was… I definitely enjoyed the writing style, so I will absolutely check out some of the other books written by this author, and hopefully I will enjoy them a bit more than this one ;) but by all means, don’t be discouraged from giving this particular story a try ;) it had many, many good moments and I really liked the majority of it ;) I’m sure that many of you will read it and absolutely fell in love with it ;) so, like always, I encourage you to make your own decisions ;)
Secrets and deception is what Callie has to deal with every day now that her sister and parents were killed in a car crash. Callie’s life took a bigger change than you may think because she had to put her life on hold to raise her sister, Alexis, son Logan. It’s not been an easy road for Callie since she took over as legal guardian for Logan since he ended up in the hospital shortly after the accident with meningitis and lost his hearing due to that illness. Now she has a little four year old boy who can’t hear and has only known Callie as his mother. Why hasn’t Logan’s father stepped up you ask? Well, Alexis and neighbor Jared were all about getting down and dirty but figured nothing serious would come of it because Jared was on his way to becoming a rock star and neither of them actually loved each other. As a matter of fact Jared was really better friends with Alexis’ little sister, Callie, but at this point Callie was too young for Jared to actually act on his feelings for her. Once Alexis became pregnant she told Jared that she had aborted the baby only to have actually had little Logan with Jared none the wiser since he left to go on the road touring with his band.
Callie has no family left so she doesn’t really have to worry about anyone finding out about Logan’s real father but then she bumps into Jared at a grocery store while his band was taking a break. Jared was shocked to learn that Callie had a little boy thinking the whole time it was actually her’s. As Jared learns that Callie is actually single and he is still drawn to her so maybe this is the time to see where things can go. God knows that Callie has no guys interested in her since she works nonstop trying to support Logan and his special needs and once guys find out she has a little boy she doesn’t hear from them again. Callie is a terrific mom to Logan and doesn’t really want any man at this point because she doesn’t want Logan to become attached only to lose the only male figure he would have in his life. Jared steps up to help Callie out with babysitting since the regular sitter was ill and even takes him to band practice with him. This is where you meet Pushing Limits drummer, Mason, who is a hilarious rocker with only having to worry about which woman he was going to bed next. Mason is also the one who mentions how much Logan looks like Jared but Jared knows for a fact that he never slept with Callie so there is no way he could be the father. What is it that finally puts Jared on the road to learning the truth about Logan? How can Callie keep her secret and still have any type of relationship with Jared and would Jared even want a relationship with Callie with the way she had lied to him about Logan? Will Jared give up life on the road with his band just as they are making it to the big times?
I couldn’t stop reading once I started because you were always turning the next page thinking that this has to be “it”. It’s one of those books that have you up till 3 a.m. with bleary eyes because you just can’t stop reading. The author does an excellent job of breaking your heart for you numerous times throughout also which means that she definitely knows how to write with feeling. Good thing Mason is there with his antics to lighten the mood once in a while. I can’t wait to read the next book in the Pushing Limits series because I have become a fan.
This book was provided as an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
5 Rock Solid Jared & Callie Stars (and an extra star for Logan!)
I read the blurb on this book and my book junkie spidey sense just KNEW that I would love it. From the first page I was in.
This is the second book in the series about the Rock Band, Pushing Limits. I haven't read the first one, but will be starting it tonight. I don't think reading them out of order mattered though~ this one quite happily stands alone.
The synopsis is that Callie and Jared grew up together- he is four years older and he briefly dated Callie's sister , Alexis, who was two years older than him. Alexis fell pregnant, but Jared thinks there is no baby because of the last conversation he had with Alexis. Callie has loved Jared from afar ever since crushing on him as a young teenage girl. Life throws Callie a major, heartbreaking curveball and fast forward four years and she is left alone bringing up Logan, Jared's son. Paths cross, emotions storm to the surface and a love story that will shred your heart and then gently piece it together again begins.
Callie is a brilliantly written heroine. My heart ached for her in places. Jared I loved. Then I wanted to slap him , but I got where he was coming from and I loved him too in the end!
The humour in this story had me laughing out loud. The writing is fantastic and the story flows beautifully. Enough angst to make your heart skip a beat and the OW drama is more meddlesome plus resting bitch face - you love to hate her but she doesn't take over the story. Our Hero is smitten with Callie as she is with him.
The rest of the band are entertaining and intriguing. Jared has an awesome family but for me, the star of the show is Logan. I think it's tricky to write an endearing child in a book but Ms Lindenblatt has nailed it. Spot on. His character is just beautiful....I wanted to hug him.
If you love a good Rock Star Romance then I can't recommend this fabulous book highly enough.
Jared's fulfilling some of his dreams, being the guitarist for Pushing Limits. You would think his life would be amazing, but…well, it's anything but. Yes, he had his pick of woman he wants, yet he still feels hollow.
An accidental run in with Callie, his ex-girlfriend's sister, not only shocked him because she's hot, but because the little boy that's with her looks awfully familiar...
Callie was put in a sad predicament, and for a minute I couldn't believe it, until I read WHY and it had me in tears. As Callie and Jared "dance" around each other, both are holding secrets from the other; they had plenty of time to come clean, yet neither did, and due to that there were many misunderstandings—which I felt could have been avoided. Truly, I wanted to smack some sense into them at times.
There are plenty of scorching moments, angst, tears and fireworks!!! Be ready for a wild ride on their rollercoaster. ~ Kara, 4.5 stars
I absolutely loved this book!! It's the second in the Pushing Limits series but easily read standalone. The writing is excellent, the storyline is fresh, and the characters just grabbed my heart. I really felt for Callie living with the burden of secrecy her sister left her with but my heart went to Jared who was living with the knowledge that his ex- girlfriend had aborted their child then finds out she lied and he has a son that is now 4 years old. When Callie literally bumps into Jared in the grocery store she knows the truth needs to come out but she's not sure she's brave enough to do it. Logan is all the family she has left and the fear of losing him is intense. I thought the author wrote this story with the compassion and gentle care for Logan that I wish we saw more frequently in real life.
Put this one on the must read list! I highly recommend it.
I loved this book. Jared and Callie's story was both heartbreaking also full of love. Callie was dealing with so much and trying to keep everything together for her and her son.
She never expected Jared to come back into her life.
I really enjoyed the slow burn between Jared and Callie. Nothing felt rushed and there wasn't a lot of over the top drama. Jared had to deal with unexpected news and Callie had to keep so many secrets. It all unfolded in a very realistic way.
Great afternoon read.

I'm sorry Nolan, but Jared just stole me from you.
And how could he not when he was Just. Irresistibly. Perfect. From the first moment I got to know him better, I knew that this guy would be the something else. And Stina didn't disappoint on that matter. She created a guy whose heart was so damn big that the whole Earth could fit comfortably in there. He may not wore his feelings on his sleeve but his actions covered that and then some. He knows what matters the most and busted his ass off for the people that he fiercely love. Because that's the only way to describe it. And if he wasn't enough, all his band mates are like that even if I have met only Nolan. But these things can be told from afar.
And for those who haven't read the summary, this book - the second in the Pushing Limits series - it's the story how Jared not only discovered he was a dad bit also how he found the love of his life in the eyes of the woman who dedicated her life raising alone his son, Logan.
And speaking of that woman, my words aren't enough to describe the strength that Callie Talbert has in her. Although the book, she had me so impressed and inspired. Her loyalty and the unconditional love she showed to Logan and then to Jared were beyond heart warming. And she have sacrificed a lot of her life to raise him, but she never regretted and knew how much he was worth it since Logan was more than a unique creature. You see, he got completely deaf after being in a deadly accident when he was one and from that point, he went through some pretty heart breaking problems but being the strong and wonderful little man he was, he beat them to the ground. And I was a goner for him before even he made his adorable appearance and put a permanent smile on my face every time I encountered his sparkly personality.
As for the way he and Logan bonded? Well, I think referring to me as a "enormous puddle of drool on the floor" would be quite accurate along with the addition of "my ovaries just exploded". Seriously, I was so sad that our Book Daddies posts happened long before he came out. Because he undoubtedly deserved a place among the ones we had picked. He is the ultimate daddy!
You know that feeling you get when you get to the point when the book title becomes a scene in the book? Priceless, huh? Well, in this case it more than priceless since the reason the book was titled My Song For You was more than beautiful. You will see what I mean when you read that part. Just keep my words in mind when you do. For those have already, you know what I mean! I wish I could say more about it but I doubt that I will be able to stop from saying something spoiling. So I will shut up about that now!
Stina Lindendlatt has a skill to write heroes with some depth like few can. She may add quite some anguish moments in their way but she always makes them come out of them changed and stronger. Both her stories I have read swept me away with their intensity, passion and sweet love stories. And let's not get me started on the BBFs and how hot and amazing are! I really can't wait to see what she will put in the next Pushing Limits guy who will get under her microscope and my love.
My Song for You is the second book in the Pushing Limits series but you don’t need to have read that book to enjoy this one. Each of the stories stands alone with no problem. When I saw this book available on NetGalley the blurb got my attention right away. Secret baby, check; former friends to lovers, check – these are two of my favorite romance tropes. Because I like reading series in order I decided to look for book 1, This One Moment, and maybe give it a try. It was on sale for 99 cents so I picked up a copy and read it before I read My Song for You. I’ve done a separate 3 star review for that story.
Jared is the lead guitar player for Pushing Limits. When his friend with benefits (FWB) turned up pregnant a few years ago he was prepared to give it up and become a father. However he wasn’t given that chance when his FWB told him later that she had an abortion. From the books blurb we pretty much know that his FWB lied about the abortion but there’s a lot more to the story of how his FWB’s sister, Callie, came to be taking care of his son.
Callie has had a rough time of it the last few years. She has given up a lot to take care of baby Logan. When she bumps into her sister’s FWB, Jared she panics and doesn’t want him to find out the secret she’s been keeping. She also realizes that the crush she had on Jared when they were kids has never gone completely away.
I read a lot of New Adult stories and, much to my surprise, I really enjoy most of them. The proliferation of the “F” word doesn’t bother me; neither does the use of a lot of swearing. I’ve also enjoyed reading other “rock star” books so it’s hard for me to put my finger on why I didn’t love this one. I have to think that it must be the author’s style. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with her writing; just that I think it’s not really for me. I’m writing this review concurrent with writing one for This One Moment so I’m not basing my feelings on just this one book and some of my words from that review will be repeated.
I do have to say that I liked My Song for You more than I liked This One Moment. I don’t know if this is because I got used to the author’s writing style or if I just liked the story better; probably a bit of both. The cast of secondary characters seemed to be given a bit more attention in this book and that added to my enjoyment of the story.
While My Song for You held my attention more than This One Moment neither of them had my emotions involved too much. For me this is the surest sign that a book wasn’t a good fit for me. I’ve come to the conclusion that this series probably isn’t one that I’ll read more of. From what I see on the author’s website it looks like a total of 5 books are planned with the next one being I Need You Tonight which is about Mason Dell; readers who are enjoying this series should be happy about that.
Like I said in my review for This One Moment, I think my feelings about this series really points out that not all readers are going to like all authors, even if the writing is good.

This was a heartbreakingly sweet romance that had me reeling at times and swooning at others. This is book two of the series but can easily be read as a standalone. I'm glad that I read the first book This One Moment because it gave insight to the other band members especially Nolan and Hailey's relationship.
Jared was twenty-one when when his girlfriend dropped the bomb that she was pregnant and had an abortion without his knowledge, she didn't even give him the opportunity to change his up and coming rock-star life to be a father, she just pulled the rug out from under him without a second thought. Now Fast-forward a few years, Jared is the lead guitarist with "Pushing Limits" and they are currently on a break from touring when he runs into his ex's little sister in the supermarket with her son that is around the same age that his child would be if things happened differently.
Logan was the sweetest little boy and stole the scenes that he was in. I loved the chemistry between Jared and Callie, it was easy to see that she had been harbouring feelings for him while he was dating her sister. You know they say that everything happens for a reason right?!? Well with this story you can easily see that Jared, Callie, and Logan were meant to be together at this point in time so maybe things actually do happen for a reason......

Didn't finish after a few chapters. The way this author is writing this feels like I'm starting in the middle of the story instead of the beginning of the story. I mean, I know usually stories do start in the middle of the characters lives, but authors are able to make it feel like it's the beginning of the particular story they are telling. But in this book I feel like I've missed out on some good stuff thats happened in the not so distant past between the two lead characters pertaining to the story that's being told. It's a little hard to explain but basically the book starts with Jared learning he's the father of this child. But yet hes already been spending time with this boy as of recently and suspecting that he's the father for a little while. So I'm left with all these questions. Like, why did he suspect he's the father? How did he come to be with his son in the first place?, etc. Also during this time before the story starts he's apparently already kissed the lead female, Callie, who is raising this child. Again, why did he kiss her? What led to it? Maybe this part is explained later but I don't want to start out a story where so much has already happened between the two love interests. It would be fine if they just had a history since they grew up together, but this is different because now we are starting this new chapter in their lives where Jared finds out he's the father of this child so that's where the story should start. Not after he's been spending time knowing he may be the father nor after he apparently has started something up with Callie either. so The author should have started us out when Jared is first learning about this child in the first place. So we can follow along with his suspicions of being the father and then also what leads up to his kiss/relationship with Callie. And How they become intertwined in the first place, etc. because as it is, I don't feel like I'm being pulled into a story. I feel like I jumped in too late. The characters mention things that have been happening and I'm like, wait, I feel like I should have read about that. Also, I don't love dual point of view unless it's done with a lot of finesse and very carefully written. I didn't hate the way it's done in this book yet, but combined with the fact that it feels like I'm starting in the middle of the story I just decided to stop. I feel like I would have liked Callie though. I like that she isn't whiny or throwing fits or being snotty toward Jared. So that's good. Not sure yet how I feel about Jared because as of only the first few chapters I don't really like him much. But maybe he gets better. So not to say that this book is terrible or anything, but I just can't connect with it from the start so I don't want to continue it.
This book had so much potential and somehow fell short. It had the bones of a great book and came off as just an ok read. Not that they're weren't many good things about the book, because there were. Logan was the star of the show. The deaf 4 year old with a cochlear implant had me hanging by a thread. Nolan and Hailey as well, two great character well put together from book 1, which I did not read. Let me explain what I felt was lacking in this book, and the strengths also. The bones of this book were all there, a sister raises her dead sisters child, the father unaware the boy exists. Callie has lost her entire family and Logan is her world, she gave up her own dreams to raise this boy and has done a superb job. No one knows that Logan is not hers. Enter Jared, rock star and ex to Callie's sister. They all grew up together, so they're not strangers. Chance meeting in a grocery store has Callie with Logan staring down Jared. Jared and his band are on break between tours and he's home with time on his hands, wants to get reacquainted with Callie and is quite taken with Logan. And Logan to him. Callie lies to Jared about Logan. Never tells him about her family or sister. Callie's feelings for Jared start to bloom but her fear overwhelms everything she does. Jared finds out that Logan is indeed his son, takes him without Callie's knowledge for DNA testing and seeks legal advice to get custody of his child. Being mindful Callie has lost everyone in her family and Logan is her last tie. Not to mention his mother. Jared was a complete ass in this arena. Yes he was a loving father/father figure for Logan but his behavior after the fact was totally outrageous. Callie, who we first see as confident Mom falls apart and turns into a blithering fool, with no backbone. None. Her refusal to tell Jared about her family is a perfect example of her lack of character. I can get that's how she's portrayed here, but she could have been so much more. The moral and ethical implications in this book were amazing and could have been fleshed out so much better, enriching this story to the max. Had the two MC's been tweaked a little deeper it would have made a lot of difference. Jared's family was great, and the band members solid and their comic relief was much needed. Hailey was a breath of fresh air. The end was weak. I gave it 3 stars because the bones of the plot were in place, which was a plus, and that was all.

UPDATE: I started reading and confirmed the heroine’s son was actually her deceased sister’s/hero’s child he didn’t know about. I regretfully won't finish this one/review this ARC because that scenario simply does not appeal to me. I did make an attempt to try to overlook it, but by 20% into it, the hero’s actions with random OW after meeting/being attracted to heroine gave me even more reason to stop reading. Folks, this book was just not for me.
Title: My Song for You, Series: Pushing Limits (Book 2), Author: Stina Lindenblatt, Pages: 224, stand-alone but part of a series, hero dated/had a child with heroine’s now deceased sister, 4 year old son is deaf, did not finish.
Book 1 - This One Moment, Pages: 264, 4/25/16 (Nolan & Hailey) Book 2 - My Song for You, Pages: 224, 9/6/16 (Jared & Callie) ---------------------- Whose the daddy? Below is NetGalley's book synopsis. Can't shake the awful feeling the heroine's sister had a baby with the hero. I don't like baby mama drama, as it is. Baby with a heroine's relative is even worse. Anyone out there who can confirm or deny this suspicion?
--------------
At twenty-one, Jared Leigh had been prepared to give up the life of a touring musician to be a father after getting his girlfriend pregnant. When she told him that she'd gotten an abortion, Jared was devastated. Now at least he has the groupies to keep him company—until a blast from the past rocks his world.
Callie Talbert hasn't seen her sister's ex since high school. But after Callie bumps into Jared while she's grocery shopping with four-year-old Logan, there's a spark that wasn't there before. Jared quickly realizes that her deaf “son” is the same age his own child would have been. When Jared demands to know more about Logan, Callie panics. There are things she just can't tell him. Besides, Jared's a bad-boy rocker, not a dependable father figure. He'll move on to his next gig soon enough . . . right?
Trouble is, Jared refuses to be pushed away, and the more quality time he spends with Logan, the more he's captivated by the woman Callie has become. When the truth is revealed, Jared only hopes that the three of them have what it takes to become a real family.
