A new guest Priscilla Kane her business partner, Neil Runkin, are due to arrive at the Dune House for check-in. Priscilla’s planning to build a giant resort on the small amount of beach property in Garber. Most of the locals would not want the resort in the town because the beach or the wildlife in the area would be damaged by any development.

The following morning after a town meeting, Suzie and Mary are taking a walk by the beach when they discover Priscilla’s body and quickly call Jason.

Storyline okay, but Suzie comes across too dense in this book.

A bit of common sense would have been in order. Maybe it's because I guessed early on whodunit and how, and who couldn't have, but the wild jumping to conclusions and evidence gathering our two sleuths engaged in seemed rather ditzy.

E-Reader. Cozy Mystery

Suzie and Mary are enjoying the off season at Dune House B & B.  They don't have many people staying there right now.I

They have a few bookings and look forward to serving their guests.

Two guests they allowed to book rooms is a wealthy woman with a parakeet named Benita and her business partner.  They want to build a bigger place than Dune House on the other end of Garber, that would change town too much.

He locals are very upset, especially small business owners.

They have a town all meeting, which gets out of control.  Her cousin Jason who Is a police officer has to clear room, even before the business people can finish their presentation of what they want to build.

The wealthy woman is found dead by Suzie & Mary, taking a walk the beach.  It is declared an accidental death.

But Suzie & Mary want to investigate because it turns out she was murdered first, then place on beach, partially in the ocean.
There so many suspects, that they are having a difficult time investigating.
There is so much more to this story you need to read book.
THere is also danger. And love too, Suzie has Paul & Mary is dating Wes. Wes is a police detective in the town next to Garber.
Enjoy!

This is a cozy mystery set at a B&B somewhere on the East Coast. It was short and sweet and a perfect read for a lazy day, or a rainy day, or just because you need a break from heavier topics and want something light.

The writing was simple, which I appreciate. I don't want to need a dictionary to understand a book. There wasn't much character growth, but this is book 7 in a 25 book series and I'm going to assume the growth occurs over the course of the entire series. There was enough backstory in the book that I felt comfortable with the characters and could understand their behaviors.

Rated 3/5 and recommended for cozy mystery fans.

The small town of Garber was in danger of being mowed over by a corporate resort. Perhaps one way to stop it was to kill the woman building it. Murder was never an easy thing to deal with, especially when it happened right in your own B&B. It takes the ruffled feathers and a repeated phrase of a squawking parrot to provide a key clue to the case. For me, it was so obvious who the parrot was alluding to…and I was right. Of course, the bird freaked out because he knew the killer. I SO knew what was going on with that ring.

Even though this was a tad predictable, this was still a good read.

Watch out when Realtors want to change small towns!

10 stars!
This mystery was a mind boggling, with so many people angry with talk of ruining the seaside beaches. It lead to murder, threats and kidnapping, attempted murder.
As you know Suzie can't keep out of the middle of it all.
The people who are staying at the Dune B&B are Realtors looking to buy a big piece of the seaside land.
The town meeting turned real bad, and the town thought Suzie and Mary were on the Realtors side at first but they found out different.
You will like it.

Another wonderful book in the Dune House Cozy Mystery Series. Benita, the talking parakeet steals the show. There's another murder and another body found at Dune House. Mary and Suzie will do their best to uncover the murderer before the person in custody gets the murder collar. I do suggest you read along from the first book in the series since the romantic adventures in Mary and Suzie's lives continue through the books.

This was quite an intricately woven mystery, a few twists and turns and a tense and suspenseful climax. With a romance concern as well keeping Susie a bit off kilter and a talking bird mainly screaming pumpkin, it's fun and mayhem all the way. These books may only be short but they sure pack a punch. Each just gets better than the last.

This is a wonderful story. The author did a great job of including the reader in the story. It keeps the reader hoping that all will be okay while worrying that it would not be!

Time for a break .... I guessed the sub-plot from the off and Suzie being so unnecessarily tight with information that the Police could benefit from is grating now.
And what happened to "Don't leave town, I might want to speak to you again"?

This was good until I ran into an unexpected curse word so I stopped reading. That just ruins it for me and the series too.

The mystery is quite simple, nothing to write home about, but having the two ladies as the protagonists makes things more interesting. Alongside the mystery, Suzie experiences a bit of relationship troubles. Between these two subplots, the pacing felt just right and the book never felt like it dragged. Overall, this was an enjoyable light read.

In this book, we meet guests Priscilla and Neil, as well as Priscilla's pet Parakeet who she is very protective over. They have come to stay at Dune House to get an overview into what they need to do for the beach resort they are hoping to build, however, the population of Garber are against this and really do not wish for this to happen!
However, one of these guests then turns up dead which leads Suzie and Mary to believe there has been ANOTHER murder on their premises which makes them all the more determined to solve this mystery and work out who really did this to this person. We also have another book where Paul begins to act suspicious and Suzie then becomes distracted by this behaviour. They work hard to uncover the truth about this murder, which again, must really displease Suzie's cousin Jason as he really dislikes it when his cousin interferes with any investigations - knowing full well, she is doing this because of her journalist past. Paul is also hiding a secret from Suzie and is this going to now ruin their relationship?

Great story

Who is the ring for? What is the bird really saying. Will this be the end of Suzie? If you have not read the entire series of Dune House you better get started.

Good but....

If you haven't read any others on the series it's very good and a most entertaining read. By this book in the series I'm getting a bit annoyed that Jason and Suzie haven't figured each others strengths out a bit better. Really how many do the have to work together to figure it out?? But love the town, people, and main characters. I'll keep reading
