I think this coloring books is pretty good! What I love the most is at the end of the book they have beautiful color pictures of the actual pictures. If that made sense, lol. Not all of the pictures are there though.
I will add the picture I started coloring today but it's a work in progress as I'm trying to use up my yucky colored pencils so I can start on my awesome new Prisma ones =)
I tried getting all of the awesome color pics at the end added but I'm not good at taking pictures when the book is shiny and I always get a glare!
So not only do you get to color the pictures, you get to see them in the back of the book in beautiful color. I loved it! ♥
Okay, I do not color on a regular basis but had to have this after seeing it on a friends feed! Supernatural is my absolute favourite TV program. I have been watching it from day one! I do not watch much TV but this is the one show I do watch every week! :)
For the binding, the book is glued together and the pages are not perforated. You can use an x-acto knife to cut the pages out or very carefully pull the pages apart if you want to remove the pages from the book to color.
Unfortunately there are pictures on the front and back of each page, so using markers or pens that tend to bleed through are not recommended for this book. If you really want to use something that bleeds through, you can prime the page using Clear Gesso. It takes extra time, even more if you want to make your own Gesso, but it usually does a good job.
Many of the illustrations are pulled directly from scenes from the show. They’re dynamic, full of action, and the characters look like their counterparts from the show. There’re still filler pages that are a bit nostalgic because of the show, but not all that fun when it comes to coloring. Full pages are covered with signs from different roadside motels the boys stayed in, but it leaves a lot of blank space and I would have rather had the blank back page.
One feature that this book has that I haven’t seen in others is the full color reference pictures in the back of the book. It’s kind of like a mini photo gallery of the scenes used for the coloring book for those who want to get the pictures colors right (no Googling here!), or just stare at Misha for awhile.
The other day, I received my beloved Horror Block--which is always full of awesome, creepy horror collectibles--and this was one of the items.
I might have fallen behind on Supernatural, but I love my Winchester Boys and will eventually catch up. LOL.
Anyway, about the colouring book... What can I say? There wasn't much actual reading required, but I did enjoy flicking through the pages. The art is nice. The subject matter is cool. And I really like it! BUT, I doubt I'll be adding colour to any of the pages. It's probably going to go on my urban fantasy Keeper Shelf, because I think it'll fit right in.
This is definitely a collector's edition. And if you're a fan of Supernatural, you should probably grab one.
I don't think I've ever been this excited to get any book mail!! This is a must for all Supernatural fans. It Has all the iconic moments... Including Dean in the gym teacher uniform.
