I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Will and Stacey. These 2 have been dancing around each other for the entire series so it’s about dang time they do something about it.
The backstory for both characters is so intense and hey fit together so perfectly. Both are in love with the other but totally fear rejection.
When we see Will opening up to Stace about his family and his past, I just wanted to flipping hug him. I wanted to be Stacey. We still see her hiding her emotions about her past but we know her heart is with Will 110%. The two make a big decision I was so happy about. It was something simple but for these two, It was just so RIGHT!! As the book is progressing, Will is sharing more and more and then right when Stacey is thinking her life is perfect, her past comes back and everything is changed…forever.
The story line for Stacey was scary and heartbreaking. We see Will be her ever faithful alpha and stand by her side when she spills the beans on everything and everyone from her past. Stacey finally got to see the Man of her dreams doing everything her mom told her a good man would do for her.
I liked the story and want more from the series for sure. Side note, I totally love this book title as it fits Will to a “T”.
I've been waiting for Will and Stacy's story since we met Will and Stacy! I absolutely couldn't wait to read it! And I was not disappointed! Just gah!!
I've had a soft spot for Will since the beginning of this series. He has such a sweet and kind heart. He's the perfect man for our girl Stacy! And Stacy, I knew she had a past but man!! She's one strong woman! And someone finally learning to love. To love the simple man she was always meant to have. The man that makes her smile, laugh, love, and be happy! I'm not ready for this series to be over. I love these characters! Oh and we even got to see a little bit of Shane and Emily! And now, I'm seriously sad that I'm finished!
This is simply beautiful. Will and Staceys story brought tears to my eyes. It's such a moving story. You feel the love. I cheered when they finally opened up to each other. Ashley did an amazing job with this series and I'm sad to see the Thurston group go. But I know she has great stories to come and hope that we will get little glimpses of these characters in future books.
"Lessons in finding someone to love, not chasing money above all, and really enjoying life." Reading a story woven by Ashley Hampton is always a journey full of positivism, sweetness, and lessons of life, but above all, love. And Simple Man is all this and more.
Who wouldn't fall in love with the man who, in words of Stacy's mother, "He will do simple things for you, like bring you flowers and cook you dinner." Will is my typical guy I read about in fairy tales, in short stories when I was a kid or an adolescent. The chivalrous guy who was going to sweep me off my feet only to deliver my world full of love and sweet nothings just because he and I existed in the same place. And this very thing happened to Stacy, our heroine. On the other hand, I constantly dreamed of becoming that girl who was going to sweep the boy's feet of the ground like in: "I liked the way she looked at me, like I could conquer the world." Stacy's eyes convey this and a myriad of possibilities in a bubble of friendship and love between our two protagonists of a story that is so down-to-earth that the word simplicity is the one that describes it best. Dear reader, do not get me wrong, Will and Stacy story is simple yet complex because of the emotions humans feel at times of despair: fear, jealousy, disappointment, de-motivation. However, our two principal characters were early raised in two families that have given them the courage and bravery to overcome their difficulties, and if there were no families in sight, their friends came in handy to support when necessary, to let them grow and blossom taking a step behind when Stacy and Will needed it the most.
Since the beginning of the story, these two are together. Their already well-established friendship in glimpses we got in the previous books of this series will grow to "The easy companionship. The teamwork approach." In Simple Man we will see their love blossom from purity, solidified by the fact that both of them already knew they were meant to be together. Stacy is a photographer whose skills are to capture mundane moments, skills that will come handy once she works for Will while keeping her independence. Will, on the other hand, has overcome the sensitivity of his parents passing and become successful in the music industry once he is hit with inspiration, namely Stacy.
Man may feel at times a coward due to the layout of events, but to accept being a survivor despite the circumstances, will be the ultimate symphony for two people who deserve to be together as Stacy and Will do reflected on their own particular vows pledged to each other.
Westly Musician Management and Productions is the perfect company you will meet in this last book of the series. As usual, the second and third characters will make you wish for the best friends ever. You will certainly wish you were part of that circle of friends rarely found nowadays.
Join Stacy and Will in this endevour of what love provides for meanwhile the simple things in life become the most fantastic memories and experiences a man and a woman get to encounter. Or, as Will reflects in one part of the story: "'Can we put our feet in the water while we eat?' The simple things Stacy liked never ceased to amaze me."
A continuation of the Southern Rock Lyric series, the story of Will and Stacy is just beautiful. We met them early in the series – Will being the quiet, thoughtful musician and best friend to Nate and Finley – Stacy, the girl with secrets she wouldn’t reveal. They have had a great friendship through all of the books and have never faced their feelings until now! This book had a different feel to it – with secrets coming to light that revealed darker heartbreaking issues – all of which Ashley handled with great sensitivity. There is nothing I love more than a story that shows two people working together through loss, grief, sadness, secrets, heartache, and trust issues - and still clinging to an inner strength, faith, hope and each other. As in all of Ashley’s books, the character development is so well done and the writing is flawless – making for a great read! As Ashley states in her book, this one is for anyone who is a survivor! Well done Ashley!
I have loved Will since the beginning of this series and was so excited with I learned we were getting his story! Hampton pulls you into this story from the start and you will not be able to put it down. She took me on a such a roller coaster of emotions! This book is so full of all the feels! As I sit here writing this, my stomach is still in knots! I am not going to give you a synopsis of the the story as I am afraid any thing will give the story away and I don't want to ruin a second of this amazing story. I will say, I knew both Will and Stacy had secrets in their past that they were not telling and when the truth comes out it tore my heart to pieces. Hampton has never left me disappointed. I love this entire series and Simple Man is the perfect addition to an already fantastic series. If you haven't read any of this series DO IT! You will not be sorry!
Southern Rock Lyric Series continues!!! It's about freaking time we get to learn about Stacy's secret past, I've been waiting for three books to uncover what was holding her back. The most teased thing throughout the whole series is finally shared and it was an interesting plot twist for sure.
I was also just so happy to see Will happy. With all of the sadness that he has endured in his life it was fulfilling to see him complete in his life.
My one complaint was that Simple Man felt a little rushed in the story line, though that may also be because i read it quick because I didn't want to stop reading it. Reading this series has been such fun over all, I've enjoying being a part of these characters lives has been such fun and I am so glad that I read this series. -Mackenzie
I have been waiting for Will and Stacy's story from Ashley. Love this series so much everyone is like family. She did not disappoint with these two special people. They find their HEA. These two have been flirting with each other for so long. In this series with each book you learn how much. Read them in order. Will has felt lost from losing his parents as a teenager. He shares his past present and future with Stacy . Is she ready for this simple man putting it out there for her. Then Stacy's past comes a knocking forcing her to tell Will the whole truth. She is one very strong woman to be carting that burden. Is Will ready to accept all of her.? Is she ready for her simple man and life? Love in life within each other's arms.???????????????
I so love this series, it's characters, their story. Stacy has a secret pass she is hiding from, to scared to let her good friends in on, to afraid to get them caught up the mess she is hiding from. Will has his own pass he has to deal with , he never really got over loosing his parents as a teenager, so finding a love 💘 like his parents he never saw until he met Stacy. She played hard to get but after years of Will being there showing his feelings to her, Stacy gave in, but with her happiness her pass trys to come back but with the help of Will and the two people that helped her start a new life she is finding she just may have found The Happy Ever After she has always wanted in Will arms.
I have been dying to read Will and Stacy's story for a while and I think their story may just be my favorite out of the whole series. No one deserves to find true love and happiness more than these two. Though there was sadness and pain in Will's past and Stacy has been to hell and back, they were able to find and nurture something truly beautiful between them. This story has a heartwarming HEA where dreams were realized and achieved, true love was pursued and magical memories were made. To Stacy and Will!
Will has loved Stacy for a long time...he has always considered her his rock...so to speak...the one he can count on...the one he talks to...One day he decides to show her his secret...She is honored by this...but, it also bring Will some sad memories. Stacy has her own bad memories as well...but she is afraid to share them with Will. This is a short but sweet closing to the Will and Stacy story...another good addition to The Southern Rock Series.
Another awesome book from Ashley Hampton. I love this whole series and we've seen Will and Stacy's non-relationship progress through the whole thing. I love that we finally get their story and all the feels in it. Will is a super dreamy musician and all around great guy with a bad past. Stacy has a horrible past too and doesn't let anyone get too close. I love them together and their chemistry is explosive. I hope to get to read more about all the the characters in the future.
Another wonderful story in the Southern Rock Lyrics series.
I have loved Will since he was previously introduced. I've been wanting to dive deeper into his story. Finally hearing Stacys secrets, hurt my heart but showed just why she's acted in this way.
I feel like I need more. Can't wait for another story to come along.
I loved this book - a fantastic conclusion to the series! Will and Stacy's story is perfect for them and suits each of them perfectly. Will has such a kind heart and soul and what happened to Stacy proves this in his actions and love for her. I was always intrigued about Stacy and what her past was and I was not disappointed! Thank you Ashley for yet another fabuolos book!
