Tessa arrives in Kansas City looking for Mali, but instead finds Lorena, Mali's reincarnated stepfather in the body of a 10-year-old girl who is also a Soldier and ready for battle.
In this issue, the series is really settling into a solid writing style. Perspective doesn't switch back and forth nearly as much, which is great for keeping track of what's going on in the midst of all the action (and there's plenty of action). I'm still really enjoying the art, and liking the characters more with each issue. Welcome Back is shaping up very well.
I like the call between Mali and her stepfather: Lorena, it was cute and heartfelt. I’m curious to see where things go and what happens when the 2 girls meet. However, I wish things would’ve been paced out different since i’m still confused about most things going on.
