Demon prince Koujirou Sakura comes to Earth, enrolling in high school, on a mission to find the human who will threaten the future of the demon realm...and steal their souls! But with no clue as to this human's identity, Koujirou is at a loss. To make matters worse, the boys' dorm at his new school is full, and he's forced to live off campus with a girl! Oh, the humanity...!
I sort of have to laugh because I picked up this first volume on a sale because I thought the cover was super cute and also thought it had an interesting premise.
However, what's funny about that is that I thought the main guy was a VAMPIRE, not a DEMON!
🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
I'm not a huge vampire fan, but I was disappointed that our main guy was indeed not a vampire. Nonetheless, this was a really cute story!
I really liked how Sakura was different after chapter one and wasn't fully what he seemed to be. I thought it made him more compelling as a hero and really enjoyed the brief flashbacks we get of him and how that effects him in the present
Hana was SUPER cute! I think the mangaka did a fantastic job of weaving in some mystery with her character because I am very curious if she is who I think she is.
Combine both our hero and heroine together and they made SUCH an adorable "couple"! I loved the small bit of romance in there and deeply enjoyed the reverse gender roles! So so so cute!
Overall, this was a cute read! I don't think I'll continue the series, but I did really enjoy what I read in this first volume!
Gosh, i still didn't finish this yet. Still in chpter 38, and i don't know where to find the next chpter n so on. Its really get me upset. Want to finish this immediately bcause this manga was really good.
I like this manga bcause it have humour element, mystery, romance, supernatural. Favourite. I don't know if this manga already hv its own anime or not. I do looking forward to watch it if it have.
Kurenai Ouji follows the demon prince to the human world, where he meets and moves in with a human named Hana and her grandmother.
DNF - Abandoned at Vol. 2, Ch. 5
This story feels like a simplistic rendition of other similar shoujo manga and reads like it was intended for a particularly young audience. I really wanted to like it, but the story lacks complexity and the pacing feels disconnected. There's a lot of lingering on daily interactions, while also jumping from one scene to the next without any real character or plot development, like the author wasn't entirely sure how to move the main plot along and just stuck a bunch of ideas together. Overall, it feels like a rough draft rather than a completed work. It's a cute idea, but I got bored quickly.
A fun opening volume that sees a demon prince visit the human world with a mission to steal someone's soul, but things take a turn for the adorable instead. I suspect there are twists ahead.
This is a seriously adorable manga that's had the misfortune of not being licensed in English yet! There are many shoujo mangas out there that have the theme of a demon and a human girl falling in love even though it is forbidden. This manga is sort of like that, but it stands out above all of those other titles. Amazingly adorable artwork? Check. Strong, loveable heroine and a surprisingly bashful Demon Prince who is more human than he is demon? Check! Heartwarming tale of sweet, young love? Check check CHECK! This manga should be classified as a shoujo, but because it is published in a shounen magazine it is considered otherwise. Nonetheless, it's a heartwarming read that will leave your melting heart just yearning for more! To my knowledge it is currently licensed in Japan and France. If we can get enough fanfare from it we can hope that it can get published here in the US(:
Recommended for everyone, really. If you love Akuma to Dolce or Hana to Akuma, then this series is highly recommended for you!
I've been resisting the e-book manga releases, mostly because I prefer hard copies. But I have a commute after dark and patchy lighting on the bus, so sometimes reading on my phone is my only option...and it's a good thing, too, because otherwise I wouldn't have read this book. A charming combination of romance and fantasy, there's just something heartwarming about the blooming relationship between the devil prince protagonist and the human heroine. I may try to find the French editions just so I can own a physical copy, but I'm also very much hoping that Yen Press decides/is able to give this a print release, because it really was a great read.
Coming from Yen Press a Shojo Story is a welcome change of pace. A seemingly classic love story between a demon prince who has been ostracized for his intelligence and charisma, and a human girl, who has been through some pretty ruff stuff. Come on a journey where a demon tries to put new feelings that are arising within him into perspective, while also meeting a girl who has changed his beliefs on humans and their fragile nature.
This was a very cute first volume to a funny and lighthearted manga. I definitely will be getting the next volume and think that this story has a lot of potential.
