RED & WOLFE:
When Sarah "Red" Ryder loses her job as an art critic for a Boston newspaper, she's brokenhearted. Worse than that? She's broke. With no immediate family to turn to, Red reaches out to her estranged grandmother, a reclusive writer living on an island off the coast of Charleston. Several days later, Red receives $30,000 and an invitation to visit.
James Wolfe is not Red's grandmother - but he's the only person waiting for her at the boat dock. Red has something he needs. He won't take "no" for an answer, and he doesn't mind screwing her over to get it. He lost his conscience six years ago, when he went off the grid. Since then, life is about him - and the renowned oil paintings he does under the mysterious pseudonym "W."
Until the moment he sees her. Then Red is all he wants. And Wolfe will have her - thoroughly.

HANSEL:
One boy. Mother calls him Hansel.
One girl. Mother named her Gretel.
Locked in little rooms, in the mountainside mansion of a crazy woman.
Until he saws a hole into the wall dividing them.
Then at least, they have each other’s hands.
It doesn’t end well at Mother’s house. Everything gets…broken.
Ten years later, they meet again in an exclusive Vegas club.
Whips.
Chains.
And most of all, a mask.
What happens to love when it gets twisted?
Fairy tales are cautionary tales, remember?

BEAST:
FROM HOLLYWOOD ROYALTY...
At twenty-one years old, third-generation movie star Cal Hammond was on top of the world. He had more money than God and more women than any man could need. But when a night of debauchery ends in tragedy, he forfeits a life of luxury for a ten-year prison sentence at La Rosa, California’s most violent prison.

TO BRUTAL BEAST.
Eight years later, a ruthless, cunning man runs La Rosa from the inside. He is known simply as Beast. All the wardens fear him. All the gangs obey him. He speaks to no one but his inner council. What he says is law.

ONLY SHE CAN SAVE HIM.
Annabelle Mitchell’s stepfather is the warden at La Rosa. He deals as dirty as his trustees, and after years of smooth relations with Beast and the gangs he runs, Holt lands on the powerful prisoner’s hit list. That very afternoon, Annabelle pays a surprise visit to La Rosa, hoping to use her new counseling license at a place she thinks she could make a difference. When Beast sees her, he releases the warden and grabs the nameless girl who played a starring role in the worst night of his life. The price for the warden’s error is not death. It’s his precious Belle.

I only read the first story in this anthology but that was enough to convince me I'm not interested in reading the rest.

I'm full of cold and I left it too long to write a full review of all the things that annoyed me about this book (I should have taken notes because there were a LOT!) but here's what I remember from Red & Wolf:

- In serious need of editing (missing words / incorrect words / poor spelling etc).

- Needed a continuity editor too (one minute her hands would be tied above her head then she'd be using them to touch herself, then they'd be tied again, clothes would vanish and reappear etc).

- Too much sex, yes I get that this is erotica but there are times when sex just isn't appropriate - like when you've been tied up and tortured. She was literally cut all over with a knife and had paint smeared into her wounds but when the supposed hero rescued her and was trying to clean her wounds all she could thing about was wanting sex. Seriously? You've got to be kidding me!

- Bad guys with nonsensical motives: they think the hero is guilty of murder and because he was found innocent they've decided to extract their own form of justice and kill him. That actually makes sense but what doesn't make sense is that they decide to torture his girlfriend and frame him for the attack to try and make him look guilty of the original murder. Well, I guess that makes sense too until I tell you that they're not wearing masks when they attack her so she knows it wasn't her boyfriend who did it. They say they're going to leave her alive yet they're not trying to hide their identities. How fucking stupid do these bad guys have to be?

- It's not like the hero is any brainier though. He lives on an island and 5 men come by boat to attack them. He knows there were 5, he knows he has taken down & tied up 4 of them but one has escaped. He's not used the boat so therefore he's still on the island somewhere but does the hero go looking for him? Nope he's too busy having sex with the heroine and then acts all surprised when guy 5 releases the other 4 and they all escape the island. Which again is stupid because if there are 5 of you why would you just leave the island and not ambush the hero and heroine when they're so busy having sex that they won't even hear you coming?

- Throw in the fact that the hero calls the heroine "his little Fuck Doll" throughout the whole story and I'm just done. He treats her like a blow up fucking doll and I'm supposed to find that sexy? Screw this book.

I. Am. Done!

Red & Wolfe

I’ve already read the first part of the serial for a while and got distracted. But finally, finally. I have to read the rest of the story because that first part of the serial was just intriguing and I had the box set which is good because I can now continue to read without much interruption like look back at my kindle bookshelf.

Anyhow, I enjoyed the reading. There was mystery, and the intense passion with the characters, the chemistry and then the connection. The Author have written in a way that just sucks me in completely and I can’t just stop until I am completely and wholly consumed.

What fell off for me though were some of the scenes. Well, it’s just that I know there was mystery but the whole action packed in the story just threw me off guard. I didn’t feel there was supposed to be like that at the beginning, and I guess the complete unpredictability of the story just threw me.

Still, I enjoyed reading immensely and I really wanted to explore the other works of this Author.

Will update once I read the rest of the box set..

4 stars for Red & Wolfe, Hansel gets 2 stars, and Beast will give 3. To much angst for the erotic side of things to be worthwhile for me.

RED & WOLFE
PART 1:
Oh yeah I'm totally going to love this series, that actually doesn't shock me because any book I read by Ella I love. Red, is something else, "God, this is so my luck. Some a**hole poses as my grandmother, and now you want to steal her island from me. You're like...the big bad wolf." These two had chemistry right when they first met and well Red she does a little investigating, "another glance up at Race's back and a**, and I'm distracted by the bulge I imagine is still straining against his pants." Now our boy may be an a** but he's a sexy a**, "I rock against her and groan my words. "Bad first impression, baby." On to the next one I go.

PART 2:
Wolfe I just can't get enough of him and his dirty talk, "you look like you need a good effing. Is that true Red? Even from a stranger. You'll accept a thorough effing. Take the pleasure that I give you." Yes the boy is a tad bit crude but honestly that's what makes his character. Red her smart mouth needs some taming and I think our boy Wolfe is up for the task, "it was very nice, okay? You're a total stud. In every way. And I enjoyed myself. I'm not going to lie about it. I'm sure I couldn't if I tired." I'm ready for more.

PART 3:
This time around Wolfe was more crude than he normally is, and I think he's trying to hide what he's starting to feel for Red, and like a typical man he doesn't want to admit it to himself, so he uses his crudeness, "I don't want to talk about art, Red. I don't want to hear you talk about it, either. What I want is for you to suck my d***." Did I mention the extreme measures the boy goes to, to make sure Red is alright and Red well she's a tad bit ditzy when things like that occur, "he stands, water sluicing down his chest and stomach, following his happy trail and dripping off his half-erect c***. I'm gawking like the pervert I am when his eyes find mine and widen. 'What the eff are you doing?" Next book please.

PART 4:
Panties are needed for this one ladies, well actually panties were needed for all of them, but this one you might need an extra, extra pair. Red, she brings something out in Wolfe that I think he tried to long bury and that's well compassion, and actual feelings, "Jesus." He digs his hands into his hair and turns away. When he turns back toward me, I can see him coming into himself. "Effing Christ," he says. "I need to clean you up." Of course the boy is still a dirty one, but he's a dirty one with feelings and likes to get his girl excited, "you're asking for a thorough effing, Red. My c***, your pu***. Now." This one had more action than the others so it wasn't all about the sex, and you're emotions got involved as well as your inner organs.

HANSEL
PART 1:
This time around Ella's fairytale is more dirty, gritty and surprisingly there was something I didn't like about it and I kept waiting for that problem to change but it never did. I wish I could say what it was but I think it would be a spoiler, it's nothing major I still enjoyed the book I was just upset that by the end of this part no one knew who they were (I hope that makes sense). Hansel or Lucas as the boy likes to go by is a dirty boy, "I want you to blow me," I tell her, stroking my hard c***. "I'll give you instructions if you need them." In one line I saw hope that the next book I will like more because I think the boy will start to figure his s*** out.

PART 2:
Apparently a drunk Hansel is still a very well endowed functioning Hansel, "his vacant gaze clings to mine. "I can still eff you." He reaches down between his legs, and I'm shocked to find he's hard." He's so different with Leah, he's gentle, "you're new at this," he murmurs, nipping at me. "I don't want to hurt you. Only pleasure for you, baby." I enjoyed this installment and I'm looking forward to the next one.

PART 3:
Each installment gets more darker and twisted and Hansel oh I mean 'Edgar' what the hell is wrong with that boy? "You don't have a boyfriend now. I can believe that. You've been effing me. But there must have been someone before. Who was the last?" I cross my arms, mirroring her stance. "What was the last?" He was just ruder than usual this time around, "Jesus, Leah. I don't want to talk about this s***. I don't want to get to know you. Grown up Leah. I effed you. You didn't do it my way. I don't effing blame you, but let's let this die." Then we kind of see a change in him when he realizes (or I think he realizes) that she's going to need his support, "yes," she whispers. He gaze clings to mine. "But...can I hold your arm?" I hold my arm out to her, effing glad to be of use in some way." I can honestly say I'm ready for the final installment I'm ready to see how this ends.

PART 4:
In order to understand people sometimes you have to look into their pasts and let me tell you what Hansel's ain't pretty but you can read that for yourself. I loved seeing the caring and loving Hansel, "do you want me to hold your hand?" he asks in a low voice. His face is solemn. Concerned, I think." There's a lot more emotion in this book from both Leah and Hansel, "don't move, okay. Don't move. Baby, please." She's sobbing as she pulls onto the mountain road. "Just hang on. I'll take you somewhere good. Somewhere they can help you. I'll go with you. I won't let anybody treat you bad. I'm sorry I'm crying." Also a big a** secret is revealed I kinda can't say I saw it coming but with the way Hansel's mother was I kinda wasn't surprised. Both Leah and Hansel have come a long way and I'm glad to see them get the ending they deserved.

BEAST
PART 1:
*************************************MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS************************

Even before the accident Beast was crude, "oh." He blinks. His face goes shrewd. "You want to eff me." After the accident he's still a big boy so it didn't affect him down there, "his d*** is hard. And huge. My God, I can see every line of it in those tight pants, and it's as flawless as my recollection: a high-priced dildo, sized XL." I know these books are serials but really Ella you had to end it before we got an answer? I'm ready for the next one.

PART 2:
Our Beast of a man likes the keep momentos, " I move to tuck the thong into my bra, and he steps to me, snatching it away before I even pull the neckline of my blouse down. "mine," he says flatly." Our man is a crude one, "what kind of person aren't you, Angel? The kind of person who effs without a thought? Who spends half of the day flat on her back, being pounded to oblivion? Or is it me? You're not the kind of person who effs someone like me?" He also clears things up of Annabelle, "you're not a wh**e. You're my wh**e. If I want to pay you for your time, it's because I take care of what is mine." Ladies there is a bigger cliffhanger this time around so I'm anxiously waiting for part 3.

PART 3:
********************************MIGHT BE SPOILERS**********************************

Woah baby we got some action in this installment, and the cliffhanger is by far the worst one in this series. Annabelle that girl is determined to get to her man and well Beast he's let's just say emotionally unstable at this point, "I know you're dead, and you should go away," I murmur up against her thigh. "but I can't let you go yet. I just have to taste you first." Lick my way toward her c**t. "If you're still here when I'm done, I'm going to eff you - hard." Alright I'm thinking the next installment is the final one so I'm ready for a happily ever after for these two character.

PART 4:
*************************************MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS************************

Even before the accident Beast was crude, "oh." He blinks. His face goes shrewd. "You want to eff me." After the accident he's still a big boy so it didn't affect him down there, "his d*** is hard. And huge. My God, I can see every line of it in those tight pants, and it's as flawless as my recollection: a high-priced dildo, sized XL." I know these books are serials but really Ella you had to end it before we got an answer? I'm ready for the next one

Beast was my first ella james book and my first erotic romance. I couldn't have picked a better place to start. This story was intense, and emotional, and sexy. Ella created a world that you didn't want to escape from and had you guessing the outcome the whole time. I read the whole series in one sitting because I absolutely could not wait to find out how it ended

Red and Wolfe was another great story and was so different from what I was expecting. There were surprises, and scary moments, and an amazing relationship between the two characters. I loved the intensity of this story and the way everything built. Ella james has and amazing way with words.

Hansel had me so emotionally invested in the characters. Ella drew me in and never let me go. This story was beautiful and came together so nicely. I felt for the characters and loved how much I felt a part of the story. It was really sexy and that just added to the story.

This is an amazing deal for some of my favorite stories. Do not miss it

These erotic fairy tales are the perfectly crafted and improved version of the original ones everyone loved reading when they were young. The mystery and unexpected twists and turns make this an intriguing read that you simply cannot put down. I loved the way the characters were developed and the passionate and unique connection between them. If you love fairy tales and dark reads, these beautifully written masterpieces are a must read. <3

Three erotic twist to the fairy tales of Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, and Beauty and the Beast.

My fav was definitely Hansel with Beast coming in a close second. The sex in all three stories if very explicit but the root story of each kept you turning the pages.

The first story was great

I couldnt put the first story down. I was saying "what the he'll does that mean" through the whole story. But the second one was rough. I love me some antihero heros, but by the time the second one ended, I didn't like the antihero so much, but at the same time I luv e his character. He'd just had a horrible upbringing and took it out on the heroine. He'd just been mean the ENTIRE book. The third story was pretty great too. The antihero was an actual multi murderer and some how Ella James makes you fall in love with him.

Hansel is really the only book worth reading... and that one was only 3 1/2 star worthy.. Hansel had redeeming qualities in the end... all the other characters were just dumb.

Wanton and Unrestrained are only two words I would use to describe Ella James' Erotic Fairy Tales. These tales are an inventive, shamelessly erotic, thrilling, and dark spins on the fairy tales of our youths. This Complete Collection is comprised of 3 separate serials, made up of 4 books each. All of the cliffhangers - None of the waiting. There are two things you need to have going in when you read these serials: first a great suspension of disbelief and secondly a huge belief in Fate. As I said before these books are Dark. The sex is rough, involves some anal play/sex, and some bondage. They are Erotic Romantic Thrillers - they have a violence, murder, and disturbing sexual abuse of a child. But not all in the same serial - except one. The last, child abuse, is usually one of my "Hard Limits". But Ms. James dealt with the - years later - healing pretty well. I really want the reader to know about these events going in rather than risk the author getting a poor review due to walking into the unexpected. These "Fairy Tales" are Contemporary Erotic Romantic Thrillers with adults as the key players. The plots very loosely follow the original story - in fact each of these serials have "touchstones" of the tales. There is character growth in all of the serials both by the heroes and heroines. Warning: I did end up Binge Reading the entire collection within a couple of days. These serials are also available individually as well - FYI.
The serials in "The Erotic Fairy Tales Collection" are intense, sexually charged and thrilling. The clever touches that link them to their original fairy tales are ingenious. From "Mother's House", to Wolfe meeting Red in her grandmother's place, to finally Belle working in Beast's library - Ella James makes these small elements create an even more enjoyable experience with "aha moments". But there are some major leaps in the suspension of disbelief you must take while reading this collection. These series are heavily grounded on Fate bringing the Hero and Heroine together and, in two cases, an incredibly improbable meeting and being thrust back together again. The characters, in the case of "Red and Wolfe" very engaging. In the "Hansel" serial the hero starts off as really difficult to embrace but by the end you fall for him. "Beast", Cal starts of as intriguing but when he is in the prison setting you are off kilter as he vacillates from almost purely carnal to incredibly vulnerable. The heroines all start out weakened by life experiences but because of their interactions with the heroes - in many cases having to save or protect them - they become incredibly strong. Remember this collection of serials is not for the faint of heart, it contains violence, child abuse, and murder. So if this is not in your "wheelhouse" ... keep walking.
I'm giving "Erotic Fairy Tales: The Complete Box Set: Red & Wolfe, Hansel, and Beast"

The Good
The story-line for each story is good. Each story had characters who were easy to route for, characters I wanted to see get together and succeed in their lives and romances. Each had some pretty messed up backgrounds, but they each were able to find their way as well.

The Bad
The story needs a really good editor/formatter. There were a lot of errors, but I'm not certain if they were due to formatting or editing. There were a couple of times a character would be told something and the understanding made that they knew what was going on only to have that same character seem surprised when someone else repeated the same information to him/her.

Also, while I know erotica stories are meant to have a lot of sex, there's no reason to describe every sexual act every other chapter. Get on with the story. They have sex. They like it. Move on. When there's more sex scenes than not sex scenes, it feels like the story was written just so someone could play out their sexual fetishes on paper.

The Review
The bad editing/formatting of the story had me want to put down the book several times, but the sex was worse. I like erotica. I like sex scenes. However, there's a problem when I'm skipping sex scenes just to read the rest of the story - to find out what happens - and I found myself skipping entire pages of text because I was so fed up with all the sex.

I hate serials so I especially love when you can finally get them as a set. It's even better when you get three complete sets in one! I've left reviews for each individual story under their own books. I would recommend buying Ella James serials in the set. Paying for each short serial adds up too fast and they are so short by themselves I'd be super mad to end up paying .99 a piece for less than an hours worth of reading. James does an interesting job, some stories better than others, at putting a modern sexy twist of classic fairy tales. It can't be an easy task. I enjoyed Red & Wolfe the most, then Hansel, and honestly I didn't care much for Beast. Beast was too far out their for me and I didn't like the attempt at a nice clean conclusion on that one.
Be the judge yourself though and watch for this set on sale. Pretty sure I got it for 2.99.

love these crazy fantasy stories! They are wild and awesome.

Beast was the last for me to read, and while not my fave it was def worth a read.

I think Hanzel was my fave. It is also crazy crazy but more realistic than the rest.

Red and Wolfe - loved!

Hansel - so amazing I read it twice. I hate that Mother.

Beast - loved the first bit, second and third not so much. 4th sort of redeemed it.

I still want Jack and the Beanstalk!

Well written stories. I loved that they were short enough to get through them easily, yet long enough to contain great detail and lots of sex. I love the twist on the fairy tails. They aren't the fairy tails we learned when we were young.
Great book with three great stories!

3.5 to 3.75 rounded up. Was interesting to appoint, although all stories had a serious suspension of disbelief (esp notable in Beast, like way, way suspending that disbelief). Also, the formatting in Beast was off, dialog running together, lack of paragraph breaks, really took me out when I was struggling to stay in anyway. But interested enough I kept reading through, but a lot lot of convenience/plot for sex's sake.
