The MirrorWorld Anthology is a collection of 13 illustrated stories that expand on the fantasy world of author Cornelia Funke's Reckless and Fearless novels—the first two installments in her MirrorWorld series.

They lose themselves so completely that in the end nothing is left of them.
The taste of his name on her tongue was familiar, as if she'd always known him.
A nice collection of short stories and other lore about the MirrorWorld. Some relate to characters in the main book, offering more background information about them, while others serve as a field guide of sorts to some of the magical flora and fauna that can be found behind the mirror.
What can I say? I love Mirrorworld. It's my favourite magic world, no doubt. And in this short stories we get to know more about the characters, the monsters, and the magic that live in this place.
A little addition to the series. Didn't really add a whole lot except the story about the waterman which was great and a little bit of background about how Jacobs father was.
If you like the series get it but don't pay more than two or three dollars as a large amount of this book wasn't needed or wanted. There is a whole section on child eating witch recipes that got annoying after a while. A great story about witches and what happens if they eat a baby that is too young. A boring section about fighting techniques just really touch and go for the whole thing.

Really lovely and original fairytales from one of my favourite fantasy universes ever. The short stories were wonderful, and the appendix (recipes, plants etc) was interesting, though I have to say I skim read it. Beautiful illustrations throughout the whole thing - I think this would be such a beautiful book if it was made into hardback with fancy paper etc (not that many pages either so wouldn't be too expensive).
I really loved this little book and the extra Mirrorworld material it contains. As a big fan of the Jacob Reckless series, I particularly enjoyed getting some of the backstories on the characters. It answers some of the questions the main books leave open very nicely. I think it's a good buy to tide you over until book four appears.
I found myself spellbound by this, as I do by all of Cornelia Funke's work. I want to venture beyond the mirror and never come back. I want to immerse myself in that wondrous, magical world forever and look for my own Jacob Reckless. *sigh*
