Αλλά το τελευταίο πράγμα που περίμεναν οι Κάθμπερτ ήταν ένα ζωηρό κοκκινομάλλικο και φλύαρο κοριτσάκι με μεγάλη φαντασία και ατίθασο χαρακτήρα, και έτσι η Άννα δεν ήταν καθόλου σίγουρη πως θέλουν να την κρατήσουν. Το μόνο που ήθελε πάντα ήταν να ανήκει κάπου και ονειρεύεται πως τη λένε Άννα του Γκριν Γκέιμπλς. Θα πραγματοποιηθούν άραγε τα όνειρά της;

Anne Shirley isn't the same as everyone else. She has a short temper and a very strong opinion. After recently being adopted by the Cuthberts a short temper is the last thing she needs. Avonlea is full of judgemental people in Annes opinion. But Anne doesn't let that bug her she is a very bright young girl so instead she imagines.

I think the theme of this book is to imagine your worries away. Throughout the book Anne is teased about her bright orange hair and freckeled hair. This makes her deeply mad. When she looked in the mirror she would imagine that she had raven black hair. When she learns that she may not be able to stay with the Cuthberts she is very sad. So she imagines that they really want her to stay with them. When people are being small minded she tells them to imagine.

I liked this book a lot it was much more simple to read then the series. However I would like to read the series. This was a very good book, Anne is a very powerful and strong girl and woman. I think she is inspiring in many ways. I loved reading her story and learning what it is like to be an orphan.
