Get ready for brutality and darkness of the creatures of the night. Deception by Isaiyan Morrison is here, and once again, Ms Morrison delivers true grit and the most vile of the vile. Blood will flow, as a missing tablet is the key to destroying every Deamhan on Earth. The only other ingredient necessary is blood, Maris’ blood, the latest treasure sought by enemies and “allies” alike.

Amenirdis is free from limbo and she visits Ana in her dreams, helping Ana become stronger with her blood. Does she expect Ana to kill her own offspring? The Dorvo vampires are taking over the streets and as enemies of the Deamhan, they will be a demonic force to be reckoned with. The Deamhan, created to destroy Vampires are too dark and too dangerous to be trusted or allowed to live, until the last one is dead, there will be no peace and there are Deamhans who plan on putting up a fight to the end. The battle is on the horizon, no more small attacks as sides are chosen. This is no battle of good versus evil, and only the strongest will win. When the blood and dust settles, who will be left standing? Will Maris be safe or will her blood be shed to destroy an entire race?

Settle in and try not to forget this is only the brilliant words of a powerful author. Isaiyan Morrison doesn’t just tell a dark and bold tale, she carves it out with a wicked pen. Do you like to cringe a little, kind of enjoy spending a few nights with the lights on? Then, Deception as well as the rest of series is set to become your next great read or the things nightmares are made of.

Ms. Morrison is not afraid to create sizzling hot tension and keep the heat on throughout her tale. She makes no excuses for not having characters you want for your bestie, she writes to entertain, to bring the darkness into the light and she has done her job well!

With Amenirdis free from Limbo and the Dorvo vampires taking over the city, who will win coming battle? Amenirdis is visiting Ana in her dreams and feeding her with her blood making Ana stronger. Ana can't seem to fight her off in her dreams but will do anything to protect those she cares about including her offspring Maris. Kenneth and Johanna form an alliance with Ruby, the head of the Dorvo Coven which leads to the beginning of their downfall. With no one safe, how will everything play out and whose side will you be on?

I think I have a love/hate thing with Anastasia. Some of the things she does makes sense to me and sometimes its like wha? I love Remy...I totally do. He's hilarious and a big draw for me and probably other readers. I have read his story and want so much more of him. Being in love with a human has to be interesting for him. I mean he hasnt said it but you know he's smitten. Veronica is still in the clutches of The Brotherhood but Remy is coming for her make no mistake about that. Heh anyone else laugh at what happened to Kenneth? No? Just me? Fine! I really am loving this series. Isiayan is very talented and her vision just rocks!

This is book 3 to the Deamhan Chronicles and it’s a fantastic addition to this series and this story picks up where book 2 finished. The dark mother of the Deamhan Amenirdis has woken up she plans to wreck havoc and kill the rest of the Deamhan’s but she needs the dark curse tablet and Maris’s blood but she’s not the only one after the tablet. Poor Maris everyone is out for her blood and that’s including the newly awakened vampires from the Dorvo Coven. I can’t wait to read more and see where this story goes from here it’s amazing and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Picking up where the last book left off; I was blown away. Being the 3rd book going into detail could ruin it so short and to the point it is. The author has really made such a complex world so intriguing and the mystery/ suspense in these novels has kept me addicted. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. Some things I didn't see coming. If your a fan of paranormal books, then you will quickly love this series. I will say that like the other books, sometimes they are hard to follow, but if you keep at it, pay attention, you'll love it! 4 stars #2OCCJD

First, let me say that my love for this series knows no bounds! The paranormal world that Ms. Morrison has created is rich and textured and these characters are among my favorites of all time. Whether Deamhan, Vampire, or Human, there is so much more to all of them than meets the eye and you may find yourself questioning your preconceived ideas on what exactly constitutes good and evil.
Picking up where book 2 leaves off, we find the Pure One Amenirdis free from Limbo and readying to wreak havoc on the modern world, our Ramanga heroine Anastasia, an unwilling tool in the pure Deamhan's master plan. Our hero (or my hero at any rate), the Lamia Deamhan Remy is desperate to rescue the human researcher Veronica from the clutches of The Brotherhood and one of the organization's new leaders Kenneth Dearhorn. The human has already proven that he cannot be trusted and Remy fears for the safety of his new love Veronica. Remy seeks information and financial assistance from his vampire friend Lambert, the owner and manager of the club Dark Sepulcher. Once a haven for vampire and Deamhan alike, the massacre of the Deamhan population during Lucius's bid to free Amenirdis from Limbo and the influx of vampires from the dreaded Dorvo coven has upset the uneasy balance that once existed. To make matters worse, Nathan, former researcher and owner of Blind Bluff Manor, the sanctuary where Anastasia, Remy and the young Metusba Deamhan Hailey reside, is suffering from an unknown ailment and his health is fading fast. In complete disagreement on how best to help their friend, yet another wedge has formed between our paranormal protagonists As our heroes struggle with their own personal "demons", enemies old and new gather in force to further their own personal agendas and uneasy alliances are formed in order to achieve a common goal. But, in the end, no one can be trusted.
Full of action and suspense, introspection and intrigue, Deception and the entire Deamhan Chronicles series is a must read for any diehard paranormal fan. Several twists and turns will have you gasping out loud and indeed one particular scene about one-third of the way through the book utterly floored me! Several new characters with secrets of their own are introduced here and I cannot wait to see what will happen next! I cannot wait for more from this series!
So, why four stars? As I'd mentioned in previous reviews, there are a few inconsistencies in the storyline that plague an otherwise phenomenal series. One example: In the very first paragraphs of book one, Brotherhood researcher Caroline Austin is wounded and near death as she comes face to face with the Lugat Deamhan Lucius. "She had never been this close to him. She always believed she never would." The paragraphs go on to inform the reader that Caroline's research of the Deamhan leader had led not only to the destruction of old myths about him but had also led her to develop feelings for him. Yet, here in Deception as researcher Kenneth Dearhorn reads Caroline's journal entries from the time prior to her "death" , the passages tell of the personal interview that she'd conducted with Lucius at his sanctuary and of several more instances where they'd met in secret? Another scene near the end of book one when Lucius is sharing his memories of Caroline with her daughter Veronica, Veronica can see in his mind how he had watched her mother from a distance while she had conducted her research on him. Yet Veronica breaks their psychic connection when she witnesses Lucius siring her mother before he is attacked by The Brotherhood and his offspring Kei. "Kei stood over her, glancing at Lucius’ new creation. His hair was much longer then. He mocked his sire and he leaned over Veronica’s mother and gently placed his mouth over her own." This is yet another inconsistency as Kei is a Lugat Deamhan and as such does not feed or kill in this manner. It is the Lamia that use their mouths to feed. In Deception, Remy witnesses this same memory through the thoughts of Veronica's father yet he too pulls his thoughts away from the scene before he actually witnesses the demise of Caroline Austin. I do have my suspicions about this but we will just have to see how the rest of the series plays out. I also hope to learn what became of Veronica's friend Sean from the first book, another researcher that fell out of grace with The Brotherhood.
Despite these inconsistencies, I do love this series and these characters and I am anxiously awaiting the next story!

This is not the first book in the series and it will confuse you thoroughly if you don't start with the beginning so I'd strongly recommend you do: Deamhan is the first in this Deamhan Chronicles series but I would (and have) start even earlier, with "Maris: The Brotherhood Files". All of those books have absolutely awesome covers that show perfectly what characters you will meet inside, the Deception Cover is next to the Maris one my favorite so far.

Besides some minor issues I had with the writing this once again was a very enjoyable read. The supernatural beings here are inhuman, cruel and cold, they are absolutely narcissistic and think only of themselves most of the time. They love - but not in the way humans do. They hate - more than humanly possible. And that's what makes them so convincing, so different and outstanding.

Deamhan are not your typical supernatural beings and since their lives went from complacent supremacy to absolute chaos they struggle to find a way to prevent obliteration. Not only have they human enemies - creatures they saw as nothing more than cattle most of the time and that now are really a danger to them - but there are vampires and even more dangerous dorvo vampires who are bent on erasing Deamhans from this earth and be the top of the food chain at last. Those parties sometimes fight against each other, sometimes ally, you never know what will happen next, the only thing that is absolutely sure is that the story strings you along, doesn't let you go, makes you read on and on and I can't imagine where it will go next!

The death of elders has left a huge hope in society. Two evil and dangerous women are out in the world causing problems and troubles for all those living. The vampires have been awoken because of their arrival. Things are about to get very dangerous for all. Who will come out on top? Who will survive? See how it all goes

I love seeing the softer side to Anastasia. She may not be puppies and rainbows but her small compassion makes her easily relatable. I cannot wait for the big battle with the pure one and to find out what Maris has planned. Great series with not your normal deamhan and vampire characters. I enjoy the author's writing style and can't wait for the next book in the series to come out.

This series is truly awesome. After every book ends, I feel empty waiting for the next one. I love that this isn't like every other vampire series out there. The back stories of these characters are amazing. Waiting patiently for the next installment.
