This volume of essays is offered in honor of Dr. James M. Renihan. Because he is a historical theologian, most of the essays cover issues in that field of study. But because he is much more than a historical theologian, colleagues and friends of Dr. Renihan were asked to contribute essays covering the various branches of the theological encyclopedia. The efforts here reflect the contributors’ esteem for their brother and the impact he has had in a wide range of theological inquiry and praxis. Contributors Joel Beeke, James Dolezal, J. V. Fesko, Robert Godfrey, Mike, Micah, and Sam Renihan, Sam Waldron, Austin Walker.
This book is a storehouse of wonderful truth presented by godly men. From Two Kingdom theology, history, to the Trinity, covenants and more, this book feeds the soul. While the men presenting the articles are some of the top theological minds of the Reformed faith, they are given with great humility. And the love and respect they have for Dr. Renihan shines through. God has blessed us with good gifts! Don't be intimidated by the articles. As a baby theologian, I was able to follow almost all of them with ease or just a bit of stretching. Growing in your understanding of our great God is well worth the challenging reads. Put this book on your list.
An excellent Book with articles covering various topics from systematic and historical theology to pastoral and practical theology. There are also some chapters contributed by Reformed theologians who are not reformed baptists e.g. Dr. Joel Beeke, Dr. Robert Godfrey, and Dr. J.V. Fesko, demonstrating the influence of Dr. Renihan's ministry and publications in the larger reformed community. The Tributes at the end of the book also provide a glimpse of the influence of Dr. Renihan's contributions for Reformed pastors, missionaries, and scholars. I am very grateful for both Dr. Renihan's faithfulness to ministry in the local church as well as his academic contributions.
